I've used SwingU since 2016. Great app for a long time. Recently, they created a bug that pulls the wrong course slope and rating so that it applies the handicap index against the wrong tees. This makes it difficult to track each person's round in the app. I contacted SwingU support multiple times and they still haven't fixed the issue. (I've played the "clear the cache, delete the app, reinstall, etc." game a few times already.) Sad that they make a great app and can't fix a simple bug.

One of the better free GPS apps out there. Accuracy is good most of the time. I have been using this app for 3 seasons now. I paid last year for premium as monthly was reasonably priced. Mentioned a feature for tracking driver distances. This is the track button on the app screen. This is a premium feature hence me not finding it. Would love to have a non-annual monthly rate of $5/6. Tough to pay $10/month when other apps offer premium for cheaper.

I have used the application for several years and have enjoyed it. Just recently, parts of the application were very slow and unresponsive. After leaving a poor review on the Google Play Store their support reached out to me and was able to fix the issue by deleting the app, rebooting the phone, then reinstalling. All of my prior data was retained. The support was timely and accurate... well done!

In the past this app was #1. They did an update that took a great simple app to an annoying one. I haven't used it at least a year or more. I decided to come back and try it again thinking maybe some of the flaws were gone I found out today that the GPS yardage is very slow and is constantly changing it never really locks in on a number even set on the high setting very disappointing again.

UPDATE: A recent update has dumbed down the app, no longer do you get drive direction, penalty shots, or bunker play (that has been on the app since the beginning) on the scorecard, only score and putts now. Shot tracking no longer works either. The GPS must have been degraded since there is now an "upgrade" that improves the accuracy and restores the now missing scorecard features. This all seems to have come after the name change from Swing by Swing to SwingU. Therefore I have dropped my rating from 5 to 3 stars and I'll look elsewhere. It was a good run while it lasted. OLD REVIEW BELOW: Been using it for several years now and am still pleased with it. Easy to use, can track your shots, accurate distances, can score your entire foursome, lots of stats, many more features.

I recently updated to premium subscription and enjoy the additional features. The new problem I have is when I go to enter a score after a hole, it always says "Save Hole 1 Score" regardless of what hole I'm actually on. Makes it very hard to keep track in real time. Hopefully there is a bug that can be fixed. Update: this issue was fixed I was the latest release.

Update: I'm done with this app. I've given it several tries and am constantly met with disappointment. For my last round on Las Vegas the 18th hole would not completely load, and it wasn't due to any connectivity iasues. When I finished, I forgot to close out the round. Today, when I wanted to start a new round, I could not not close the previous round! Tried hitting the back button on my phone...did nothing. Tried closing the app....didn't work. So, it's off to another app for good! Overall, the app is pretty good. I have an Android phone and my biggest gripe is that if I don't have my GPS set to High Accuracy, when I start the app and click the "Find Me & Play" feature, the app just clocks trying to find my location. This goes on for infinity until I kill the app. I have used other golf apps the will at least warn you that you must turn on High Accuracy for the app to work. You guys need to do the same.

Another one of those apps that goes down hill over time. I've been using it for a few years. I even paid for the premium. it's become unreliable in various ways. It can't always find the golf course via GPS. The newest problem is at the end of the round, it can't contact remote servers to save your round. If you kill the app, it will re-open in that same round. Either you trash the round or you're stuck in it forever. This has been going on for weeks now. I noticed that the location icon was on every time I tried to save. Not sure why it needs to contact GPS again to save, it knows where i am. Last week, I shut off GPS, and it saved. This time that doesn't even work. Getting support on their website is ridiculous. Contacting them on their website is horrible. The screen keeps scrolling away from the bottom, where the contact link is. If you can ever get past that, you then get the never ending verify images to make sure you're not a robot. You need to contact via "about", as the contact link loads a windows email client that I don't use, and doesn't give you their email address so that I can use a different email client.

I love this app! I use it for almost every round. My only complaint is that it only allows you to track the putts for 1 person. Also, it would be great if you could somehow sort your previous rounds at a particular course. I always write my previous round on my scorecard to see if I'm playing better or worse. Update: Since the update, I have all these ads and the quality is really bad! I used to pay $15/year to be able to put in penalties and such....now they want $60/year! The changes are suck

This app used to be great, but this year there are some major bugs and no-nos as it comes to freemium UX. There are a number of bugs with buttons and the scorecard, however, the reason I will be uninstalling the app is their abusive use of popup ads. Every single time the app comes to the foreground, you get a popup ad after about 3 seconds. So you're trying to tap the screen and use the app and then bam, you've tapped their ad. Every. Single. Time.

Overall pretty good app. However, a major design flaw is that it doesn't automatically go to the next hole (I don't keep score through the app). Navigation is clunky. 9/22/18 update: Developer worked with me to ensure that my typical courses had the auto-advance feature (which now work fine! ) As I get use to the navigation, it is quite functional and easy to use.

Overall, no complaints for a free app. Wish it still had the old feature where it would automatically switch to the scorecard! Also, would a handicap calculator/tracker be too much to ask? I'd give it 5 stars if these both were added. I played yesterday and it wasn't automatically switching to the scorecard. in fact, I was having more problems than ever before. I've been using this app for several years without too much of a problem. Yesterday, the app kept freezing and then crashing.

The new version is much easier for shot tracking. Not sure about the suggested clubs. That hopefully will get better as I enter more data. Haven't found where I can see average distance for each club. Been using the app longer now. Except when the GPS on my phone wasn't working (old phone problem) this app has helped this new player a lot. Love being able to look back and see how I did at a particular course. The only thing that it would be nice, is if you could look at your history at a particular course. Without scrolling through every round.

Used this app since 2013. Good at first but now ...Can't reliably save rounds. Advice from tech support: delete and reinstall app after every round! Also poor integration with watch app. I have GW6. Also can only delete prior rounds slowly and one at a time - thought that might help saving current rounds but with almost 1000 rounds logged not a feasible alternative. So, after all these years...Adios! Trying a couple other apps that have auto shot tracking and much better integration with watch.

Used the free version for many years until I started playing more, then switched to the Plus version last year. Thinking about going to the Pro version for the drills... All in all, I like the app. I constantly check to see how accurate it is with my friends who have rangefinders. It is always within a yard or two. When the 'plays like' number is way different, its like a heads up that I should be thinking about something. It's usually right. Understand, it is a phone app not a caddy.

I've used this app since 2000 with no issues. Most of my rounds are at 1 particular golf course. Now I'm getting errors when trying to use app at that golf course and no longer works. But if I try ANY other course it works with no issues. Gotta sneaky suspicion this maybe intentional, tell me I'm wrong and there's a simple fix EDIT 2/15/24: Thank you working as before. I've been with you since 2019 not 2000 and every year it has worked flawlessly and accurately. Will contact support shortly...

Very helpful Edit: I've been using this app for the last few seasons. Very impressed. Allows me to jump to whatever hole I'm playing at that time. Real handy when course is packed and you skip a hole or two and return later in your outting. My home course is 27 holes, so this happens a ton. Using the shot tracker helps. More you track the better, and it recommends the correct club. Watch feature kinda is hit or muss. More than likely, due to my not understanding how to set up correctly.

Reading recent reviews I see that the latest update is not just my problem. Have been using swingu for years loved it. This season garbage, doesn't change holes automatically, have to uninstall and reinstall to get it corrected. Very disappointed will be looking for new app. I know you will tell me to contact support, I think you need to put effort in correcting this last update.

I have been using this app & have highly recommended it. That is, up until this last update. Now it's full of glitches! It would show a 440 yd par 3. The problem was it was still showing me on the ninth hole. I would enter the score and it was fine for a couple minutes before it would repeat the problem. So, I kept entering the score and then enter the score for the current hole. When the round was completed, no scores were recorded for the back nine! My wife was having diff issues... Uuuuugh

I've used this app since 2017. I've only used it for yardage and storing scores. By far was the best app out there for a while. Over the past few years with all the tweeks made to the app, more and more difficult to load courses. Always kept track of my birdies, pars overall which now disappeared even though I set it up for all time scores. Not the quality it once was and the paid upgrade was always an option. Leave it alone. Worked fine. Getting rid of it.
