At first this game was fun but then i got to silver, clearly need to spend some cash to get your cards leveled up. Also i don't know why it takes people so long to figure out which of thier four cards to play, games at silver take for ever. Finally, i don't know if it's a bug or game design but you can't always choose what path a card takes. If you have two enemies on each side, you can only go one way which makes it very frustrating and not as strategic or tactical game.

It's easy to see the time and effort the developers put into this game. The art is beautiful, the gameplay is easy to understand but at the same time intricate and complex. It successfully combines concepts of ancient games like chess together with more modern themes. The only two shortcomings would be a rather short story campaign which doesn't really reward much for doing, as well as the game leaning towards being pay to win (although you do not need to spend money to win).

Overall, I'd say this is a pretty solid gane. Gameplay is fun, and you don't necessarily have to pay to get good cards. I have two notes though. One: I was really disappointed that Campaign mode is so small. I was hoping for more especially as it was a great way to build decks early on. Two: the matchup system in Brawls is TERRIBLE. I'm constantly getting matched with players much higher than me and it's nearly impossible to progress. Other than that, it's a solid game.

I've had frustration with updates and rebalances in the past, especially a year+ ago. The major update in July was frustrating too in its way but it also pushed some things in interesting directions, so at this point I'm actually really interested to see what else is coming. There are problems with the game and fundamentally the card levelling system is always going to be frustrating for 99% of players, but the gameplay is a lot of fun and and free to play is truly viable, so I do recommend.

Pros. Good concept, unique and interesting game play, variety of cards with their own identity and play-style Cons. Lack of viable counter-play options for some annoying to combat strategies. I also think the game would benefit massively from a reporting system. Waiting for other players to run the clock to the very last second every single turn after you make a good play can get very tiresome. Overall, a game with massive potential to improve, but has a number of issues holding it back.

This a fantastic game! Been playing this off and on for 3 years I think. So I probably should've left a review sooner. But I've noticed with one of the latest updates(not sure which one I put it down for a bit) that I get stuck in a certain screen. It's every time I rank up and it shows the new cards, it just stays on the last card. It doesn't seem to freeze since the animation is still going. Also it all works fine if the reward is a pack of cards. Other than that great game that I recommend.

Stormbound has beautiful graphics, an easy to understand menu, and wonderful combat. The only thing I would recommend fixing is the scarcity of cards and rubies. It is so hard to get cards, especially when you cannot move up in rankings, and that nakes the game really frustrating sometimes when you play against people who have level 3 cards and you don't because you haven't been able to get enough cards to upgrade them.

Solid strategy game, simple to learn, but extremely deep and complex. Amazing art style, which kind of reminds me of samurai jack art. The 4 (5?) factions are unique and interesting, so much so that i have difficulty choosing my favorite. It sometimes is frustrating because of pay to win, only early on, but you can eventually earn what is available in the store. Despite that you can see I still give it 5 stars.

Will rate higher when bugs are fixed... I like this game, it's a great turn based strategy game. But the app never fits right in my screen, theres cut off edges making it difficult to see everything and click on things, and after playing for a bit this white bar appears on the bottom and blocks more screen. This bug has been around since the first time I played, why cant u fix it? Now the ads cant b closed? I had to close the app to get the ad off the screen. The new brawls suck too, confusing.

Great game to waste time on. Would play anytime I can, great job, keep it up!! Really enjoy it with the new brawls. It can be compared to Hearthstone's Brawls where wacky new rules are used. Lots of fun as long as you spend the time to upgrade your cards ^^ that was my previous review. I hate to say it, but it seems the game is pay to win now. Was a 5 star game, but had to drop it down. When you pay you can have cards that are powerful enough to enjoy the strategy.

This game is GREAT. Its only flaw is the structure of the rewards which makes it Pay-to-Win. It is near impossible to get new cards or upgrade them without spending money, as your reward for winning games is next to nothing (even after watching an ad to increase it by 4x), you are given 3 daily tasks to complete and... thats it. I absolutely love every part of this game but can no longer play it after two days due to matching against people I have no hope of beating due to their high card levels

The game is fun...until it's not. Most frustrating is when the game locks up mid-turn and there's nothing your can do about it. I've tried quitting and restarting when it happens, but even if i do it within seconds, I've forfeited my turn and my opponent has typically already screwed me. There needs to be a better way of handling crashes mid-game. I've tried going through support, but Kongregate can't seem to be bothered to let me reset a password, so i can't actually view any of the content...

I like the game mechanics a lot, but theres a reason this is 2 instead of 5 stars... The card upgrading system puts a huge disadvantage for beginners. I had games where I was doing great against someone more upgraded than me but ultimately lost because of the upgraded cards. Not a fun way to lose at all. Also there isnt much else to do other than ranked in the game and sometimes brawl, which makes it get dull fast. Almost a game I love, sucks to see this bring it down so hard. Might stop playing

I've played this game for quite a while and have loved it. The art and music is great, and goes well with the concept. The gameplay is phenomenal with only a few flaws. However, the matchmaking in the league system gets extremely out of balance sometimes. I've gone up against someone in bronze league who had card levels almost double mine. Other than that, there are a few in-game UI issues and that's it. I've loved watching this game grow, and will stick with it for a lot longer.

Beautiful game and wonderful gameplay. It does unfortunately feel more pay to win than other card games because of the upgrade feature of cards. It really sucks going against a person who played the exact same card as you, but they were able to level up 3 more times and beat yours because they bought more crafting material. I don't mind paying for cards and/or grinding for them at a slower rate, but the upgrade feature just seems like an additional pay wall rather than an actual good mechanic.

Came back after some years. This game is trash. It's 100% pay to win. It had potential but they have no idea how to balance this game. It seems fun and cool at first trust me. The animations and art style is cool. But once you put lots of hours in this game and get to a point where you lose not due to skill or strategy but because someone has higher card lvls than you, you'll want to throw your phone against the wall.

I loved this game awhile back. Coming back to it after a 2 year break, I found the game that I once enjoyed to be a mess. Ranking up takes a long LONG time, which I have no problem with. However, I do have a problem with the ranking system. The ranking system will match I, level 12, with that of level 15s. While the difference between the levels seems miniscule, it's not. Level 15's have access to many more cards and resources than level 12's. Game has become PTW

Twice now I have "lost" my (Guest) account when installing a mandatory update. The 1st time it happened I contacted support, but despite an auto-reply, have never heard from them again. This greatly discouraged me from spending money in this app for it may just inexplicably disappear. The 2nd time (today), I found myself locked into the tutorial all over, once again, w/ no way to sign out. This time I un- & then re-installed SB, logged back in as a Guest, and my (2nd) Guest account reappeared!

I really like the pickup and play aspect. Each game lasts for about 5minutes at maximum, so you don't have to dedicate a ton of time for a game mach. While there are in-game purchases, they are no where near as predatory as other ccg's. You can go very far with free to play as well, there is plenty of opportunity gain free cards, and currency (both the regular and premium). The only time you see ads is if you want to see ads, and if you want to get an extra free reward.

I have been playing this game for a long time now. The biggest draw back is that after every month you are pushed back to the previous league on the last group. To climb back you have to win 25+ games more than you loose and that will just get you to the last spot on the league. For casual players it is discouraging. There is also a lack of player contact. You can add friends but no guilds, no chat during game, no way to just chat with your friends while you are playing a game.
