For a while it started working, but then I had to uninstall it because it would freeze and lag. Then I reinstalled it and it fixed the problem, but then whenever I went to sign in it said the code I was putting on and yes I went to the help section in your website and I was doing EVERYTHING right. I'm not sure if this is just a bug but please have this fixed very soon so I can get back into my step account and be verified so I can get my card and money and please get this fixed very soon please.

Im still having an issue with the app performance. It takes too long to respond (15s to 25s) to each click. Has this app been tested on Samsung Galaxy S21? It freezes most of the time when I open it. And when it works, it takes too long and sometimes it crashes. My kids have iPhones and the app works much quicker. I'll be happy to assist in troubleshooting the issue on my smartphone

Missing layer of security with a user and pass or even sign into the app with biometrics. You have full access to the account after unlocking the phone. I need to be able to access the website with the account to have a secondary option to lock my card. (imagine losing your phone. while contacting Step is an option it's not the fastest). Logging out sends you back to the get started button without a "I already have a Step Bank Account".

I love Step.....it's great for family and friends to send money. It's instant and secure. However the app has always been mediocre. It's slow and it freezes. Today I can't even get in it. Such a great company needs a great app. Update: the Step App is still really slow on my phone. It takes way to long to respond to touches and I get "not responding" error warnings often.

App won't recognize my DL during account setup, and after repeated attempts, still nothing! I've reached out to customer support which takes forever for a response, and when it does finally occur, they respond with the same canned response and don't solve the problem. Might like the app and platform if I could ever get it started, but a less than stellar experience so far...Disappointing.

I've been using the Step Banking app for a little over 2 years now but there are 2 flaws that have been annoying me ever since. The step apps first flaw is that I have noticed a lot of latency (at least for Android) an example is when you are pressing buttons like the "add money" in your savings. Second is a (minor) security concern. I think that there should be a option to have a password you enter when you want to open the Step app. If it helps, my model is the Motorola G power (2022)

I love this card. It makes everything so easy. Instant transfer. Recent transaction viewing. I couldn't ask for a more manageable account. When my kids are in a bind and need money right away I can count on Step to get them the money they need right away. Log in is easy. If I forget my password there's other options to log in. It really eliminates the frustrations of every day life and I wish everything was this simple and thorough. Thank you for creating this!

Seems good so far! 2 changes I would make: don't default to entering a dependant, and Make it so that savings goals can be connected directly to your card for 1-time purchases. Basically, go into savings goal, hit "time to buy" button, and now when you swipe your card, for that purchase only, it takes from that instead of the spend pocket

The reason why I'm rating this app 2 stars isn't because I think it's a bad app. It probably isn't. The problem is that I can't access my account because the app is stuck on the "Account Security" page and seems to be mindlessly loading. I waited overnight hoping that it would clear to the next screen, but it never did. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but that didn't fix the problem. I'm hoping that this problem is fixed, so I can enjoy the full features of this app. EDIT: issue is fixed

Don't try to transfer from an Instant tip card. They consider it fraudulent and immediately close your account and just link the user agreement if you contact them about it. I understand now that it is an account that doesn't technically have my name on it, but it's how I get paid so not much else I could do about it without involving a third party (bank, online account, etc.) Would have liked to use this account to build my credit, but I guess Cred.ai is just more user friendly.

Good app with lots of great features. My only issue is that it won't let me change pictures for things when choosing the "Choose From Library" option. It prompts me to give it access to my media and files as if it doesn't already have permission, when I know for a fact, and have checked that it does.

Great app to start, so easy to transfer money to my kids when they needed a little extra while out and about. I don't have to drive to them or go get cash. But with the fee new structure, fees for transfers under $25 will cause me to be looking for another option. I can't always afford $25 to send each kid. Let alone, my kids won't save it. If it's there, they'll use it. Sending $5 or $10 for some small job they did is reasonable. $25 is just too much every time.

The app was updated and fixed the errors. This is the best banking app to help with your credit. 100% recommend it to anyone. It was working perfectly fine, after the update now I can't use it at all. It is taking me to the phone settings of the app and I cant get it to go back, tried uninstalling it and installing it again and it doesn't work.

Sometimes apps are confusingly set up, but since this is made for literal children, it's all very simple and easy to use, and this 20-year-old likes that. I also like that I was able to talk to reps. in the app and get verified by alternative means (because I don't have any gov. ID), I got a virtual number that's ready to use while I wait for the physical card, and it will supposedly help build my credit. The only thing missing that would make this PERFECT is the ability to deposit checks.

Step has been amazing! There is no monthly fees. If you get charged at an ATM, step will give it back to you. I've had no issues. It's so simple transferring money, adding money, paying friends ect.. it's pretty cool you can have your own account along with your teens account and you can watch what they spend, set up weekly allowances. I don't like that it's only a credit card but that's it.

I love this app,it's great for direct deposit. The only thing I'd recommend is adding more permanant reward offers that teens and adults use on a regular basis, like fast food chains and retail chains. I'd also like to see a lock feature added for savings so I can only add but not withdraw from specific savings goals. The round up feature is literal gold, and never get rid of it. I'd like to see step work with modak in the future. I have a modak card, but the card isn't compatible with step yet

After loading money in numerous times with a particular debit card, it has stopped working. Every time I try to add the card again, it fails with an ambiguous "something went wrong". There is no obvious way to contact Step, leaving me in a frustrating position with my child whom I cannot send money to. I get trying to minimize support costs, but this is not a game it is meant to handle money... STEP contacted me and explained what was needed. They were prompt, courteous and helpful. 5 stars!

So far, so good. Finally showed on my credit report 2 months after opening, and boosted my score 2-3pts. As someone who's trying to recover my score after destroying it last year down to a 500, I couldn't qualify for any credit card that wasn't secure and most were wanting $2-$300 security deposit. Step didn't require any, and it's format prevents you from hurting your credit score, which is a huge plus if you're someone who's skilled at decimating it. Lol.

Great for saving and building credit, but it takes too long to make deposits. The app says it takes 1-3 business days, but in reality it takes more than a week. Not only does it take forever to see the money in your account, but they also draft it out of your linked account, so you're down x,y,z amount of money and it won't appear on your step account. Definitely not very time efficient. It would be better if it was faster. My other bank takes about thirty minutes to take action.

Loved this app, used in for about 5 years to pay for everything online. Never had a single problem, loved.that I didn't have to use my bank card, and it automatically denies charges if I don't have any money on my card(.that's an extra charge from my bank). The last time I used the online card there was an extra fee, I'm not going to pay. Deleting the app.
