The app forces you to turn location services on. If you have location turned off on your phone you will be unable to use the starlink app to check your statistics, speed, etc until you enable location services on your phone. The pop-up will come up over and over and over, because even though "no thanks" is a button, I guess that is an unacceptable answer!

Setup process is super easy, buuut the dish can't seem to connect to a satellite, just has a vague 'disconnected' error. No customer support number, trying to open a help ticket crashes on multiple devices, web browser version doesn't have an option to open a ticket. Maybe they will fix this someday, but I don't see any option other then returning it.

Starlink is beginning to feel alot like Samsung appliances. Sure they have all the features a person wants, they just can't seem to make the work reliably. I just recieved my replacement dish for a previous one that didn't work and this one won't even connect. And as far as the app goes, the support page locks up my phone. I know you are going for cutting edge tech solutions but there is a lot to be said for a customer support division with actual people and phones.

Easy to use app. Over the past 18 months Star link itself has changed our lives giving us the ability to work from home. It's not perfect, some areas are better than others. Also something to consider if this is your first time setting starlink up the find a location for dishy feature using your camera is just an estimate, you will need to fine tune the dishes location using the visibility function once set up in the app and can take 12 hours to compile satellite data.

The app works as long as the hardware works. I have been waiting for almost a week to have someone assist me with getting my router working again. I have had 2 messages from them basically saying the same things, which only would have worked if the router turned on (which it doesn't). So the only thing I can say is if the hardware was supported properly then the app works.

Decent app but room for improvement. App is definitely improving with each update. My only two requests/suggestions would be to include a data counter showing how much data has been used since there is now a cap. Also maybe making it easier to control the Starlink settings (like passwords, etc..) while not being connected to the wifi could be useful as well when people are not at home or something. Keep up the great work!

Ok, checking in a week later. Starlink is amazing. Rough start, but once it's all figured out the speeds are good and the reliability is better than any other satellite service I've used. ---first day blues. Surprise portability fees and no way to update address successfully on app so far. First day after waiting a year or so for this tech and it feels like a hollow promise with no results. Hoping I can update this review with many more stars in the coming days.

Remote management requires wifi. Works reasonably well when on your unit's wifi, but if you try to access your account info from your cell phone network, or remotely manage your Starlink, you'll need to find a wifi network. It just says it is "unable to load account infomation." Even if your 4g/5g data connection is solid and fast, the app won't connect. It's not a huge deal, but an obvious miss that could be easily corrected by the developers, to allow remote mgmt and monitoring.

We are in a small village on Crete, Greece & the Starlink internet is much better than what is available from local providers. Very happy with the speeds. The app setup experience needs improvement, particularly the function where you use your phone to scan the sky. The app doesn't make clear how to contact customer service for help setting up. The equipment is beautiful (looks similar to an apple product) and the frustration with the app was well worth the fast releable connection

The latest update on 5/24 removed access to real-time statistics if we're using a 3rd party router. I have an OPNsense box with the proper aliased IP's to allow the app to query the Starlink, and I could see the stats up until yesterday's update. This is disappointing if this is how the UI is being changed. Edit (5/25): possibly a server-side change, but after sending a message to the devs and opening a ticket, statistics now shows up fine in the app. Quick fixes with simple changes are great.

Did not work out of box (and wifi product design is my profession at a major streaming company.) It had multiple problems at same time. Most serious was that the app reported it as "Disconnected". Problem turned out to be the cable connection at the dish. Wiggled it and pushed it in firmer, and it now works. Overall speed/latency is a bit disappointing and the connections drops out every 15-20 minutes. Hoping it improves as more satellites are added.

Whats with the one star ratings? I havent had issues with checking for obstructions. As long as the satellite has a clear view of the sky, it should align itself properly. The only thing I do wonder is if all the support options are nitavailabe until the equipment is set up. There were some things i found in the support section quite useful... some I wish I knew while setting up. Anyways I've seen speedtest fluctuate but never too slow to use. Fastest I've seen on a speedtest was over 270mbps.

The internet is great! But the app required to set it up and manage it is absolute garbage. It has annoying loops when you have account problems that keep sending you to do different things to fix it, but require you to be using the starlink router in order to do so, even if the router isn't working because it needs signed in. It's a great concept but I wouldn't be using it if I had a choice.

The app is pretty simple but gets the job done. The service itself has been great, I have the high preference dish on my sprinter van and works perfectly while doing 80 mph down the road. Highly recommend for remote service! It does consume a considerable amount of battery life from the van, but not a deal breaker.

The app leaves alot to be desired from a company that can launch satellites into space. Limited functionality to make changes or control connections of multiple devices, limited interpretation and usability of status data, and navigation through different parts of the app is not consistent. You'd think a company that can build rockets and launch thousands of satellites into space could design a more decent app.

Worked good till now. It Now says internet not available. Cant talk to a live person, no contact phone number. I live in the boonies and somtimes i can get one or two bars on my cellphone. I really depend on the internet for pretty much everything. I think when starlink dont have a contact number for customer service is a disappointment IMO. Updated they sent me a replacement equipment. Turns out the router was bad. Plugged in the replacement router and im now on line. Thank you starlink.

I've been on Starlink for over a year now. I live in a city with multiple Internet access options but none of them are terribly stable. I work from home in IT so frequent drops and outages aren't acceptable. Starlink has been far more stable than anything else here. It's had its issues from time to time but nothing noteworthy. My grandma has really bad Internet out in the country side until she got Starlink and now has the same experience I do. Great ISP, only new fiber seems to out perform it.

I first got Starlink when I moved out of the city. It was Al that was available over 6Mbs. I was a beta tester, and been happy with it for years. My original round dish, although still worked, had some connections issues and started aging. I reached out to starlink to inquire about purchasing a new dish as it was years out of warranty. They told me that were able see some issues with my dish and system so they were going to send me the new version, for free, 2 days later up and running.

The android version of this app appears to have issues. It won't stay connected to the starlink and cycles between connected and disconnected. iOS version is rock solid and doesn't drop the connection. The android phone (or any other app) never looses wifi connection or internet. Just the starlink app does. Prior version didn't seem to do this.

Used to work fairly decent, but recent updates have made the obstructions tool flaky. We have the roaming service and often use the obstruction check when setting up camp. As of late the app frequently doesn't show the green dots to be collected. Sometimes trying 8-10 times will get it to work. Options for network config are limited. App works for the other basics, such as stowing and rebooting. Overall it's mostly useful.
