Similar to other comments, the latest update makes it pretty much impossible to order a drink through the app. It asks me to enable my GPS every time I try (if I already enabled tracking once, why does it keep asking?), and from there, it won't let me select a location then lags and/or glitches when I try to go back to other menus/options. It seems like paying with the app won't be an issue, but ordering ahead is not happening. I'll be waiting for the next update to fix this issue. 😕

BRING BACK THE WIDGET! Yes, I know there's shortcuts now, but IMO that's no replacement for seeing your balance at a glance right on your home screen. Judging by the reviews here, I'm not the only one that was thrown by the removal of the widget. Dropping a star... PREVIOUS REVIEW: This app does everything I require of it, in a great form factor that's always readily available on my phone.

I really love this app -- the ability to mobile order, the offers/deals and chances to win extra stars, being able to pay (and tip!) straight from the app and track my stars, being able to explore the menu -- when it works. This is one of my buggiest apps and often breaks after updates. Currently it's super slow for mobile order and often can't connect to my location and/or won't let me choose a store. I almost exclusively mobile order, so the app is rather useless for me when that doesn't work.

I appreciate being able to select my coffee and choose a location to pick it up at. That capability decreases errors and can speed up my morning routine. Unfortunately the App likes to choose where it believes is the best location for me to order from. Most times now, my order goes to the wrong location even when I manually select the right spot. I'd say maybe the issues were just me, but a large number of people in line echo my statements, backed up by staff.

Mobile ordering is the best feature ever, love having my drinks ready when I get there! There is one small problem, if there's a long line of cars at the drive thru, I usually end up parking and going inside to get my order so it's a gamble if it's going to save you time, even if ordering ahead is supposed to allow you to jump the line (used to work well). I do like the ease of ordering and the specials they sometimes offer. Rarely have problems with the app, but it sometimes happens.

App is easy to use and saves your drink order, regardless of the complexity, to make ordering simple. Using the app gives you double the reward stars for faster free perks. It would be better, however, if there were an option to select your pick up time when placing an order for pickup! I have unfortunately made the mistake of thinking I could do so. Drink is ready & atvcounter 6 min after placing the order and I was 20 minutes away from the store. Something to think about y'all!

I've been using the app for years with no problems until recently(the last few updates). I am no longer able to sign in as the app lags after my username and password are entered; the app gets lags between the sign in page and my home page. This has been going on over a month. All the suggested fixes( password reset, Uninstall/reinstall app, etc.) have had no success. Very disappointed at this point. I lost stars last month because of this issue.

generally good once you get used to the layout of the menus. Not a fan of the inconsistency of the splash page. Like a lot of apps they try to hard to think for you so the first page might show what you ordered last or your "usual", but I don't always get the same thing each time so it's a little distracting and you have to remember to navigate to favorites even though the first page may be a favorite you've ordered in the past...just not the favorite you want now.

I love the app! I would give 5 stars, but they close the drive thru & don't update pickup options on the app. If drive thru is closed, you should NOT be able to select drive thru for your pickup option. Honestly, it's infuriating to think I'm going to the drive thru, but get there to find drive thru is closed & I'm not dressed to go inside.

This review is driven by the fact that the app somehow doesn't give you a proper receipt? I can't believe that wouldn't be built in, like every other online ordering app I've ever used (even if it's just provided over email). Everything else works great, this just makes it so frustrating at the end if I'm trying to expense something for work or otherwise need a real receipt.

A few years ago I did a review about the problems with the Starbucks app. Unfortunately, it's bad again. The app is slow to load locations unless I clear the cache first. Buttons to get 2x or 3x stars don't always work. Now it wants me to sign in again but it will not accept the verification code. Reinstalling and rebooting don't help. I can login to my account, including doing the verification code, using the website. Basically, at this time, the app is frustrating and useless.

Overall good app but it is so stupid that you can't use multiple payments. I can't finish using small balances on gift cards because if your balance is too low to cover your order, it forces you to reload the gift card with a $10 minimum in order to use it. You can't make up the remaining order charge with a credit card for example. Need to fix this.

Scan codes (both to pay & for stars) on my new phone are so tiny they don't work. I can't take a screenshot (it was black) or enlarge it, so the barista had to manually enter it. Not very convenient! And I'm not changing my phone font size for one app if that's the issue bc it wasn't a problem in my old phone. I tried all the settings in the app I could find and nothing makes these normal all the time (it does work brighten my screen so surely it's a developer option).

Only giving it 1 star to get the developers' attention. Things that are lacking: 1. Need the ability to request light ice or no ice in drinks (used to be able to; feature seems to have disappeared). 2. Need the ability to select multiple payment methods and how much of which one you wish to use (example: using up the rest of your gift card balance before paying the rest with your bank card). Everything else is great about the app! 3. (Bonus:) ability to rearrange items in your favorites list.

This used to be a really good app. But something has happened recently. I'm unable to load more funds, I get a constant error message to try again later. Last time it took almost two hours of constantly trying to get funds loaded. I tried everything, uninstalling and reinstalling it, logging out and back in, even restarting my phone. Nothing works. Very frustrating!

This app used to work well for me, but in the past few weeks, has become mostly useless. I'm using the current Verizon of the app. It gives me an error message when I try to reload my card. It tells me things aren't working right now, and try again later. Time of day/ day of week don't make a difference. It won't load store locations or let me make a mobile order. Because of that, I can't use app-only deals or make mobile orders for the Summer Game. Very frustrating!

Reoccurring issues w/ the mobile order menu, other than it's ok. Several times I've attempted to place a mobile order and it says the location is out of the drink I'm wanting along w/ most other iced coffees. If I decide to then place an order in person, most of the time- they say it's available, the app is incorrect OR they are just out of whipped cream topping. Even with the whipped cream removed; still unable to order ANY drink that originally has it.

Edit: latest update and the darn things won't even open! PLEASE FIX IT, STARBUCKS!! App makes Starbucks super easy to visit. Order thru it, pay thru it, get coupons and deals thru it...it's much better than trying to find that Gold Card or *GASP* paying with cash or regular debit/credit cards. Keep track of your points and card $$ balance. The app is the way to go.

Sure would like a way to tip on the app. Yes, notifications are enabled, no, I don't get a notification after I've picked up my order, no, there's nothing on the receipt screen to let me tip. That and constantly asking me to turn my location on. No, I only ever prefer from one place, I know which one it is, don't ask me more than once.

Doesn't allow for corporate credit cards. With the change to only being able to pay with Starbucks cash it has made it extremely difficult while traveling for business. Company policy requires itemized receipts for purchases that have to exactly match the credit card receipt. Since you can no longer charge directly to the card I can't use the app while traveling for business. They need to consider the impact of this change. No longer buy while traveling which was when I spent the most money.
