At the beginning it worked beautifully. Since four months ago the app would always crash; it would move into the background everytime and would stay there despite my attempts to open it. I have installed (and uninstalled) the app four times with same results. It would be a great app only if it would work, but that's not the case; hence, the low rating.

While a decent app with the packs, it really needs a better way of calibrating and keeping track of phone orientation. A calibrate button would, even if pointless, feel much more user friendly. I'm always worried if I'm not focused on the right spot and am constantly trying to recalibrate using the moon. But you also can't manually calibrate vertically, only horizontally. Despite all of this it isn't a terrible app, but it could certainly use some work to keep up with its competitors.

Thus is a great app for star gazers or anyone that wants to learn the constellations. I've read on similar apps that people have been having problems calibrating. All you have to do when your outside is wave the phone is a figure 8 motion and it calibrated very quickly. I love the fact that I can assign notifications when the ISS is going to be in view or even the Chinese space lab. Just search "ISS" in the search tab and it'll show you exactly where it is at all times. Truly awesome!

Too many ads. First attempt at using the app the overlay view was off quite a bit even after setting the phones compass. After several minutes of ATTEMPTING to mess with settings to adjust/offset the overlay I became so frustrated with the amount of ads every time I tap something I just gave up. It looks promising...but non functional at this point. Not willing to pay for if it is this far off and not worth the frustration of the ads to figure it out.

Bombarded with ads; anything I searched for was "additional content" that cost $$$. Calibration was terrible – moon was a good 20° off and way below the actual position in the sky (time was correct in the app, that wasn't the issue... manually calibrated in simulated reality mode, but adjustment was gone when I went back to normal view). Music and sounds were loud, obnoxious, and on by default (thanks for waking the house). Another app that goes for whizz-bang neato instead of functionality.

5-20 They change the music back on mine and it's easier to maneuver, Might have been my phone, but I absolutely love it! 1-20 loved the soundscape type music you had. It changed ??? Can we have it back? My suggestion is more instructions on how to get back to the screen where you're seeing the sky, live, stars, consultations ... I can't get back to the page! Thanks ✨💫🙏🏼❤️ love looking at our universe!

This the most beautiful app I've ever seen! The sensory experience is exceptional, from the musical notes that sound like windchimes to symphonic tones that accompany the visual feast of pristine constellations that shimmer in the night sky - absolutely mesmerizing! The scientific information is extremely generous in scope and daily updates on what to see in the night sky (comets, satellites, etc.)keep me happily returning several times a week. If ever there is a perfect app, this might be it!

I can't say enough about SW 2, it's got a wicked cool feature that allows you point your phone in any direction and you can see the planets, the constellations and the stars. Hint: lie in bed with the lights off and use the app. With the music in tow, It's got the ability to float you right though your ceiling and out into the atmosphere..Enjoy!

Wow, this app is SUPER cool and aesthetically pleasing!! Once you identify a star or planet, you can zoom in "all the way" to see an enlarged 3D sphere of the object you're looking at. Great astrological signs. Good ways to customize the app. In-app music and sounds that can be turned on and off separately (hate when apps force sound effects or combine music with sound and you can't have one without the other). Great job, developers!! I paid to remove ads and see planets; totally worth it!!!

The functionality of this app is great. The biggest area for improvement, which would make it a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ app IMO is if it included constellations other than the "classical" european ones. Nearly every culture has used constellations to track and understand time and the seasons, and for wayfinding. A lot of that information is readily available. What a treasure this app would be if it included and shared that knowledge. What a shame it chooses to only offer information about one culture out of many.

Useless junk full of ads. The free version is just plain terrible. Can't tap anything on the screen without an ad showing up. I understand ads are needed to support the developers but it's constant ads for tapping anything on the screen. Being bombarded with ads provides a terrible experience for the user. Get SkyView which is free, better, and does not have annoying ads for tapping the screen.

Music is obnoxious (on by default, can be turned off), ads with music and sound are obnoxious and display every few seconds, and the app has no obvious "exit" or "close app" control, and it takes over touch across the entire screen, which makes closing the app difficult on phones with on-screen controls. All in all, more trouble than it's worth.

Great app for learning about our sky. I particularly like the notifications letting me know when and where to see thing like meteor showers, planets, etc. The ability to hold it out and have it actually show you what's in front of you is great. It tracks your orientation and location (when using the app) to give you an accurate picture of the sky. Likewise you can search for specific items and use the app to help locate them.

Good idea, but missing a few functions. Apps initial config is a bit flashy for my taste, but i guess it shows off the amount of work that went into the graphics. I installed specifically for the augmented reality feature, and while the Moto 4 isnt the best AR device (due to lack of a proper sensor suite(my old Gal S5 spoiled me)) I could not figure out how to calibrate and align the views. The display moon was constantly far to the side to the cameras view. Almost off the screen.

This app is overall a great guide and reference and lots of fun to use. My only trouble is with the notifications: Sometimes the app will notify you about, say, an upcoming meteor shower, but the message is too long to show completely in the notification preview, and when you tap it, it opens the app but not the full message, so you end up losing that information. It's disappointing. But other than that, I really enjoy this app.

One of very few apps I use every day. Love it but wish you didn't need to pay for all the useful add-ons. Update: Still use this app multiple times a week. Favorite. I will say though, after latest update I have had the app crash on me a few times when going from portrait to landscape view. Using Samsung galaxy S8 plus with OS 9.0 and REV 1.0. Again, not everytime but enough to be worth mentioning to you.

Great app, very detailed and love the customization. Works great, however, I can' seem to calibrate the compass and it is always incorrect making it hard for me to use as I have to manually position it myself. I have 2 other astronomy apps that are accurate with my position, but don't have the detail as this obe, they also let me calibrate the phone in case the compass is off. Either way that is the only downfall, other than the "rate this app" pop up that comes up quite frequently.

Great app for stargazing, beautiful and easy to use. For free, one gets the basics, which is fine for the once in awhile stargazer. I had no qualms in purchasing the complete edition of this app to get all the extras. I use it at least 3 times a week. The live view is great and very accurate (this, of course, depends upon the quality of the compass in your phone), and I love being able to jump back and forth in time to see where things were or will be. Best stargazing app out there!

Compass mode only supports current time and not other custom dates. I wish to preview what the upcoming solar eclipse will look like on April 8 using the compass mode. Also, setting the date and time for the eclipse on this app is unrealistic as heck. You have to zoom in all the way to accurately see what it looks like which defeats the purpose. If only I can turn off planet scaling in this app. Re: Yeah, I already KNOW that I can do that, but it doesn't work during GPS compass mode!!!!

I'm pretty disappointed that I paid for the premium upgrade to this app back in 2021 and now I've been downgraded again to a free version with ads. I spent $4.99 and now I have to chose to either put up with ads or switch to pay yet again for the app and probably pay even more because I'll bet that the in-app purchases are for features that I already paid for with the premium years ago.
