This game is complex and as challenging as you want it to be. Lots of fun once you learn how it works, and many different ways to succeed. There are difficult and irreversible choices to be made. You'll need to read and learn to survive, and some of the data is a little hard to see and understand. Overall a great game, it's like a tycoon game combined with rpg; if you like to use your head to win you'll enjoy this.

Could be wonderful, but the difficulty mechanics are way too simple. it's on a clock, meaning the longer you play the harder it gets, rather than (for example) AI/enemies that level up when you do. Additionally, it doesn't work very well - rather than a gradual increase in difficulty, at some point the game seems to decide "that's enough", and (wherever you are, whatever you are doing) spams you with enemies until you die. that's not a game - you may as well just watch a sand timer run out.

This is a good game for sci fi fans. It can be played for hours or minutes and has plenty of possibilities to play with. My main criticism is that the game revolves around the re skinning of a few mission types and once you have done them all it turns into a minutes game with no real purpose. On console of say it's poor but for android is quite a unique expertise. Well worth having.

The incredible difficulty to unlock things... Make it so you gotta have lots of luck to actually make progress, which gets really frustrating for low skilled players like me, who can't really do much past challenging despite reading guides and having played for years. Edit: Nevermind, I was just taking too many fights, this deserves 5 stars.

I've played this game for ages. Change phones few times, uninstall a couple times, and here I play this again. Simply addictive. This one is a single player offline (except, of course, when you use back up feature) turn-based RPG where you control one spaceship (at a time) and do any mission (delivery, assassination, passenger, etc) from any (or all) six factions. Graphic is old school. There is no real goal here. It just how you will survive by getting money and air fuel. As it say, an RPG game~

It's all in the name. It's a deep space RPG where you play as a captain of a ship. How exactly you play is up to you, merchant, bounty hunter, etc, but you'll have to navigate faction relationships and rumors of events in order to succeed. Very technical, not very pretty, but fun if you want some space feelings.

So the difficulty settings are aptly named. Easy mode is really easy, but impossible is LITERALLY FRIGGIN IMPOSSIBLE!!! Just starting out? Alien attack. Exploring a planet? All your crew are now dead. Ship used 1 unit of water on easy? Now it uses 5 or more. And what's better is you have to get a certain achievement on impossible mode to unlock one of the ships, so if you're a perfectionist and want to unlock them all BE PREPARED TO CHUCK YOUR PHONE ACROSS THE ROOM SEVERAL TIMES FIRST. fun game

This is essentially the old Drug Dealer game that used to be played on TI85 calculators with a space touch. A lot of the flavor text becomes annoying and repetitive, and would be less annoying if it reflected anything in the game's mechanics. The buying and selling aspect is worthless unless you wait for "rumors" of shortages and surpluses. Trading in bulk is nearly impossible, as the cargo upgrades you need are locked behind a paywall/challenges.

Star Traders is a very engrossing space game. Very stable and just plain fun. *update* The game does keep losing my cloud saves, so I start out at zero again. This is 3 times that this has happened. *Update2* the developers have no intention of fixing the cloud save problem. That's darn unfortunate

I love these developers, as far as I'm concerned they can do no wrong. I've yet to play a title of theirs that hasn't been exceptional. Star Traders: Frontiers is light-years ahead as far as story and visuals (it being the sequel to this game) and STILL this title surprised and impressed me with it's depth and it's replayability.

Great game, I've spent a lot of time playing it. Needs to improve some quality of life issues. Also I like to play portrait but the go/resume button on the map screen doesn't fit anymore so I have to switch to landscape to use it.

This game is incredible! And the developers are kind and aren't throwing adds in your face every minute!? Also you care about the game not just the money, I bet you people could create amazing console games if ever given the opportunity.. The gameplay is fun and interesting and it really makes you feel like the galaxy is constantly buzzing around and you are just a small part in a huge network of outcomes.. It truly is fun.! 🙌

Always loved star traders. This time i had the opportunity to get the create ship ootion. Well? After a little exploring, and selling the loot? I have probably the most amazing ship. Now, just gotta raise pilot skills, after dumping player stats into exploring from the beginning. Doesn't take up alot of space on device. Just a great game. Always was. Devs should be famous.

So, I ran into a MASSIVE, GAME-BREAKING GLITCH that NEEDS to be fixed. I had landed on an Independent planet and bought some fuel. I max out the fuel, confirm the purchase, and leave the Exchange menu. The screen does the grey transition, but then I'm back at the planet menu, my money is gone from the purchase, AND SO IS THE FUEL. Like, am I being robbed, because if this is a "feature", getting ripped off with no warnings or pop-ups, I'll be seeking a refund. The game is WAAAAAYYYYY too damn cool to be locked out like this less than an hour in. The graphics are stellar, the text is clean and without typos, and the game runs like a top!

Wow. What an amazing experience. I often get lost in this game for longer than I ought to. The only thing that would complete this game for me would be the addition of more visuals; Some artwork and scenery to go along with the different action screens that vary by planet and facton would be excellent. Regardless, it stands out in my mind as an acheivement, and a shinning example of what mobile gaming could be.

I've been playing this game for years and always install with every new phone...its a near-perfect mobile game, reminding me of the Sid Meier classic Pirates!, but set in space. With the sliding difficulty scale, it's as challenging as you want it to be and provides many hours of game play whether in small increments (using the save option) or a marathon session. The Trese Brothers don't disappoint and offer an incredible value in all of their games, though this one remains my favorite.

Best devs of any mobile game I have ever played. They bring their passion of gaming into the games they create. This game is a true unlimited playthroughs game. No playthrough will ever be the same, as the map is constantly evolving around you. This is the first game. The second Star traders frontiers. If you enjoy this game check out the second it's even more mind bombing. Hard learning curve, but worth it. Wiki has the info you need or discord. Hope you enjoy as much as I do.

I've loved this game for years. It's amazing and always different every game. However, upon buying the custom ship DLC my interface has been warped and I can't use some critical functions. This practically killed the game for me. I know this is an extremely old game, but please fix this bug.

Update - I agree with other reviews. Current update broke a few features and the action bar when in portrait mode. Bugs that now need fixing. Used to be a perfect game, 5 stars. I also don't like that some officers are locked behind a Kickstart wall where other features are available for purchase. I wish I could purchase the additional officers as an add on like the character and ship designer. Sry but -1 star. =/ Old review 5 stars - Great RPG, tons of updates and content releases.

Can be very frustrating but it's fair once you understand it. Takes some getting used to but once you get a hold of the fuel and salvaging ships loop, it becomes much easier. The space is large but not infinite. I like this, it's far more manageable. I wish the crew wasn't so hair trigger but then again I was still figuring out the water fuel and people died. Other than the steep learning curve it's a fantastic RPG that's hard to put down. Got it on sale. Great deal.
