It's a great game and a very well built app. Only complaint is that I feel very nickel-and-dimed by the expansion system. Getting the full game unlocks an incredibly small portion of the app, and getting all the expansions would cost somewhere around $45. Hoping they might do some sort of bundle or deal in the future. Until then, highly doubt I'd get more than one or two expansions.

Star Realms is a terrific game, but this app is crashy as heck when using the pass-and-play mode (likely in other modes too, since they're probably MORE complex than local multiplayer, but I haven't done much testing). I regularly run into issues where the loading bar freezes while either starting or resuming games, plus sometimes when I buy from the trade row the next card in the set just...doesn't deal out. Even down to the simple stuff -- the sign-up flow for my account didn't work after the first name I requested was taken. It did create my account, but dropped me onto an infinite loading page and I had to hard-reboot the app to get back to the main menu. If you've played the card game, you'll love this. But if your experience with performance is as poor as mine has been, it'll be enough to dissuade you from heavy use. I'm using it on a Pixel 3a, for reference.

Am awesome deck-building game with lots of ways to play: against a friend or against a stranger, over a long period of time or immediate, vs. AI or a campaign. The development team has been incredibly responsive any time I've contacted them to report a bug; most of the time, it's been user error. It is the only app on my phone I've spent money on, and I will be recommending this game to a friend.

Receiving data.... This is fun to play, but gets slower and laggier with every release. The newest great change is that you have to stare at a "receiving data" screen for 5-10 seconds every time you try to play. I'm not sure why it needs to download new data every time I play, but it ruins the ability to quickly just pick up and play a quick game during downtime.

I absolutely adore the game of star realms and have spent many hours playing with friends and online. However, the online play frequently breaks. On quite a few occasions I have been forced to pass turns (and consequently lose ranked games) due to the game simply not loading in time or allowing any input on my part. Nothing more frustrating than being on the verge of victory, seeing the game freeze for a minute or two, and then finally loading back in to a YOU LOSE screen.

I've enjoyed this game for quite some time. I even purchased some DLC. After deciding to play again after a long break, I was greatly disappointed. I could get to the main menu, select VS AI, and choose my options. When I hit Start Game, the loading bar gets up to maybe 75% before it stops moving and just changes colors. I've never had issues playing in the past, so I checked the comments here to see what happened. Apparently some update broke offline play. 1 out of 5 until this is fixed.

Very well made game, unlike other deck builders, not a card I don't like. Nice graphics, effects, and options. Playing on mobile is cheaper than buying cards, and has more options. Tutorial is great. Campaign is fun. Free content really gives you a feel for the game. Play online or pass the phone options. Very little room for improvement. Plus, they didn't bug me to rate, and no button to do so from the app.

Easy to learn, hard to master but in the end it's an awesome game! I'v been playing it almost exclusively since inatalling it. Having a blast and enjoying it so much that I've already purchased the full version. Well worth it! Looking forward to all the DLC that is available. Definitely a keeper! EDIT::The campaign is way to hard to the point of frustrating. Knocking off 2 stars as the campaign dampened my enthusiasm for the game.

Good, Overpriced. For $5 (base set) very little was added (a single campaign, no new cards). Mystic Vale & Ascension make clear what's unlocked and for cheaper. Expansions might be better, but once bitten, twice shy. Campaign is disappointing at times. Some "Challenges" boil down to restarting the match 30+ times until you get lucky and the AI might kill you before even if you get lucky (see Hard 1-1). And restarting is a pain. Gameplay is good, the free version is a 5*.

Fantastic light deckbuilder with a thriving online player base. Real time games last about 10 minutes and wait time for picking up any kind of match is usually almost instantaneous. There aren't many issues with games timing out from players dropping which is a huge negative I've found with some of the other online games. Single player campaigns allow for a good offline experience as well. Very worth the (in app) purchase price for unlock and lots of expansions available if you want them.

Doesn't perfectly emulate the paper games rules mainly with bases and abilities. A lot of stuff is automated including base and synergy abilities. In paper the player chooses when these activate and can allow for things like using two blue cards synergies to put a recently bought card on top of your deck and then draw it. In the app both automatically activate so you'll be forced to draw a card without first putting a new card on top. I can't find an option to fix this. Still fun otherwise

Star Realms is the best mobile game I've played. Matches are short enough to be completed during little downtimes in your day (let's face the facts, you'll play so many matches in the bathroom). You can pause a game at any time and resume it later. Expansions to the base game are reasonably priced and can be used on any device once purchased (e.g. PC and phone). Expansions can be toggled off or on individually so you can customize which expansion features and cards you want to use in each game.

Digital version of the physical card game. Some advantages in the digital version include a far better authority tracker and the ability to easily see what the opponent has left to draw. Ranking and online play is implemented very well, including quick or slower turned asynchronous matches. Unforgiving as far as no ability to undo an action which should be permissible in specific cases. Solo campaigns are a bit too luck-dependent at times. Overall a great way to play a great game.

UPDATE: From 5 stars to 1 star. Latest update removed the ability to play against the AI offline. This was one of the best features of this app. Now it requires a connection, and downloads the image every time a new card comes out. Eliminates the ability to play in a lot of situations. OLD REVIEW: A simple, effective, and engaging deck builder. Cannot recommend it enough.

Very nice game, no ads, and you can purchase addtl cards if u want to play campaigns (which give you more variety then the AI). But I really like being able to play others without the intrusive in-game messaging that so many other games have, this is purely abiut the game. No silly chit chat or taunts to deal with. Good game play, effects, and graphics. I'm tempted to buy the physical game just to have it. But the app is the way to go for simpler and quicker gameplay.

Great adaptation, quick, pretty -- but notifications are busted, which really puts a damper on the tournaments that are my favorite part. I even just now uninstalled and reinstalled and allowed notifs, as advised in the "are you having notification problems" panel on the home screen -- nothin', as a tournament round ends and a new one starts. Apparently my opponent didn't get notified either, as i just won by forfeit when they didn't show up.

Really good implementation of the physical game, and the fact that purchasing expansions in the app also unlocks them on desktop for Steam is *chef's kiss*. But I had to knock a couple stars off because the notifications are very unreliable. I mostly play against friends asynchronously, so it's kind of important for the notifications to work so I don't have to be constantly checking the app. I've tried reinstalling and it fixes notifications for a bit, but they eventually drop off again.

When it works, it's fine. If you want a quick play game, then it's fine. If you want multiplayer, it's below average. If you want achievements, it's actively one of the worst games to do so. The AI consistently draws too perfectly to be random, making the 'achievements' an exercise in constantly loading, seeing the 'random' starting hand, and leaving and restarting because of the arbitrary difficulty and randomness of the goals that make scenarios literally unbearable and unbeatable.

An almost flawless digital version of a physical card game, except it desperately needs an "undo" button. It's lightweight, good looking, there was obviously a lot of thought put into making the players play cards in the right order, truly almost perfect. But oh man how many times I screwed something up early in a game because I tapped the wrong place and was then stuck with whatever I did. Could use "undo" as a quality of life improvement.

I really like the game, just two critiques of the app: 1. Certain animations and sound effects have pretty off timing, ie scrapping cards from the trade row feels like it takes forever, but card synergies happen so fast I can barely process them. 2. It is very annoying that the AI doesn't just attack and end the game if it has enough to win. I often quit out during their last turn because I don't want to sit around for it.
