I love this app been using it for years like ... YEARS but I just upgraded my phone to the galaxy s22 and it keeps crashing doesn't even stay open for longer then a second. Don't know if it's somehow my phone. It didn't seem to have the problem on my Galaxy S9. Anywhoo sad about in app purchase specially when I remember when those things were free and would look to see voluntary ad watch like how moodflow does it. Past that absolutely love this app suggest it anyone who enjoys night sky watching

This was one of the OGs and was one of if not the best on android and ios. I bought all the in app purchases for the different celestial bodies and it was worth every cent. Now it looks like it has t been updated in years and I haven't even been able to launch it on either my galaxy flip 3 or my s23 ultra. If the (I think it was free?) base app works for you then awesome, but I wouldn't spend any money on it until they update it to properly support current devices.

I discovered this app many years ago, then got a series of phones that (I learned after buying them) didn't have compass or gyroscope. The app was still useful, but this time I made sure I had a phone that let me use this app. It's so nice to be able to use it to its full potential again! I absolutely love being able to point my phone at a star and know it instantly. Where I live now, not many stars make it through the city lights, so it's a precious gift to know which is which.

So far Star Chart has been just what I wanted. A night sky chart that positions the time of year relative to the ecliptic. I taught Sciences since 1973, and used to have a basic chart my Sky Publishing, but left it for my file cab in my lab when I retired. Now that I recently have gotten a telescope again, I've been looking for a chart that is a chart. Too many that intend to be helpful are too complicated to be useful. Star Chart is perfect for my use.

My review up until recently would have been a 5 but now it's a 1 because I cannot give a zero rating. Now the app doesn't open at all ever. It may start but closes immediately. This was always my go to app when seeing what start or planet was in the sky. AND it was a paid app. I've since switched to a free app and will be uninstalling this one as it is useless and taking up memory on my phone.

It is a pay to get more kind of app like most, but I love the customizable settings. It works great and I was able to find alot of constellations even though it was partly cloudy. I learned quite a bit and I would reccomend this app, it's very helpful. You are also able to look at what the sky will look like in the future too which is super helpful so that you know what time to go outside to see certain constellations.

I can't believe this is back after being absent from Playstore so long...this is the best app of its kind, no doubt. Upgrades are expensive but well worth it. Has a ton of celestial objects other apps miss out & even important sites & landmarks listed on them! There are other really good apps like this but for detail & content this has it all. The satellites used to have an incorrect trajectory but maybe now its been fixed during its hiatus...? However, in a word, this is stunning.

Used to be a great app. My son and I enjoyed looking at all of the things in the night sky, and then matching it up with our telescope for a closer view. Unfortunately the app has not been able to open in the past year and a half. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app a few times, with different settings, but always the same nonfunctional results. Pixel 5 with Android 12.

My favorite astronomy app! you can customize how it looks, and it has a huge amount of detail and information about the objects you can see in the sky. The basic mode has enough detail to be interesting, without overwhelming you with a scattering of undifferentiated stars. You can get additional features if you want, and go into more depth. It shows you the locations of things you can see with telescopes, like galaxies, clusters, and planets beyond Saturn, and tells you facts about them.

How to Fix and Still Breathtaking. The problem is not with the app but with Android 10 and above. It suck so bad my next phone will be two tin cans and a string. If the app is crashing on start up, either uninstall and reinstall, or go into your system settings, app settings, Star Chart, then Storage. Clear the cache and...storage data. That's a painful step but it works. Permission issues are Android version issues. Jeez, next upgrade, a landline and 5 mile cord.

This app has REALLY gone downhill. I bought Star Chart Infinite years ago and enjoyed it until the new version of Android came out, then it quit working. Now we have a new version of Star Chart with no way to restore my purchases, and my efforts to re-purchase the app was declined. I've already ruled out contacting anyone since my emails have gone unanswered. I've since uninstalled the app and won't bother wasting any more time with it.

I've been on and off this app for a few years, but it's the best I've found for general astronomy. The upgrades are expensive, so it might be worth it to go for the full app once you see you like the free version. The older version used to let you jump from sky view right to exploratory mode, and you can't get the Latin names for constellations any more, which is how I know most of them. Still, I've shown plenty of friends the star chart, and it helps everyone understand.

The app works great. My only problem with it is that when I activate night mode, the menu buttons within the app don't go into night mode. The menu bar alone is enough to ruin your night vision. The soft keys also need to disappear when using this app. Once these problems are fixed I will give the app five stars. Not being able to use a stargazing app at night is enough for me to give it two stars. Edit: It seems the issue has been fixed work m within Android itself. 5 stars!

This app used to be amazing. I could pop it open and explore the sky at my leisure without many hiccups. But it's been 2 years since the last update, and things are getting weird. I use AR mode to look around the sky, but lately it insists that every direction I look at is West, or occasionally South some days. When I tryto switch to touch screen mode, the app locks up and stops responding. I would report this to the developers, but if they're still around, they stopped caring long ago.

I loved this app, but now it just won't work. The app crashes every time I try to use it. Galaxy S22 fully updated. Opens, asks for permissions (I also tried setting location permissions to all the time) but crashes on open no matter what. Uninstalled, reinstalled, no joy. This is one of a few where I've ever paid for in-app purchases, so it's quite disappointing.

While this app is GORGEOUS, it's also a frustration. My current frustration is notifications. You can't turn them OFF. According to the online instruction manual, it says that they are ON by default, and "to turn them off, go into settings/ apps / Star Chart". You don't "turn them off", you have to BLOCK THEM. A subtle difference? No. It is still requesting notifications. I found this unsatisfactory, but will have to live with it.

Great for identifying constellations, stars, and planets. Much better than the glow in the cards. Edit for latest version. The estimated location is off by thousands of miles, but you cannot fix it. There is only an "OK" button, and the settings page doesn't take city name, state, country, or latitude, longitude in standard format. There is no tutorial for this.

For a few years this was the most phenomenal app with depth, accuracy, and tracking. It constantly exceeded expectations. I fear the creators may have gone broke because as others are writing, the app no longer works. I too uninstalled the app and reloaded it in the app store but although the opening page loads, it doesn't get beyond that and then disappears. I'm betting that they couldn't keep good developers with low ad revenue.

5/11/24 update: replaced broken phone with exact same make & model. Google reloaded all my apps but Star Chart Infinite (which I paid for) wouldn't work. Uninstalled & tried to reload... only to find that "Infinite" version is no longer showing up on the Play Store! Now I'm supposed to pay for the upgrades that I already paid for with the Infinite version?? What's the work around? Old Review: I've loaded many astronomy apps and this is the best one I've seen!

App was amazing and used to love it for showing my kids and exploring the night sky myself and finding out where certain stars and celestial bodies were but as of August 3rd 2024 my Samsung Galaxy S9+ The screen just stays black upon opening the app and nothing is functional, it just plays the menu sound and make sound effects when touching the screen but nothing else. It is very sad and hope they fix soon. Will rate five stars if it becomes functional again on my phone.
