if views are always looking to upgrade features, then why can't you add to your text to speech to have all text messages read out loud no matter what. You don't have that and you got to download extra software to make it work and it says third-party software. All my other phones made it really easy especially LG I am so mad at LG they stopped making phones so I had to choose Samsung and it was the worst choice I ever made because of this issue. To late I'm gone bye

Update: Got it fixed but just found out it's limited despite being Premium. If you're like me and use it during work to read books or review files you'll run thru it fast It's awesome compared to other read aloud apps ! Although you only get a 3 day trial. The support will send an email after a couple days with a default response saying theyll get back to you, try troubleshooting and the messenger chat during hours I haven't received responses. 😞 but other than that I love it

Literally amazing. I have a visual impairment and optic nerve atrophy from a brain tumor. I have a very hard time reading small, black and white text (so, like every normal book or piece of paper) and this is changing my life. I feel so empowered. Apps like this are creating opportunities for people with varying disabilities and for that I am so grateful. And, it's free and completely accessible! which is so important because I only work part time because of my condition. THANK YOU ❤️

There are 3 bugs that I found. Sometimes when I'm listening to a story. Sometimes in the middle of the story without warning it will change what audio voice I'm listening to at the very least they're typically sticks to the same language. There are times where the app we'll just crash and shut itself down randomly when this happens it usually opens up with a different voice than I selected typically in a different language. App it doesn't save stories for me even though it says I can have three

I'm not very happy about the experience I have with this app especially after paying for the premium version. The processing takes too long sometimes days. On my phone it loses connection it says it loose connection and goes back to the basic voices and I have to disconnect from the Wi-Fi more than one time. Sharing a web page to the app does not mean that it will be processed and red. Many times the sharing doesn't do anything and I end up by using Edge Read Aloud feature so what is the point?

It has potential, voices are solid and the CEO voice is my favorite. That being said... - if you install the app and go straight to the choose voices panel and tap one of the offline voices like Abigail, you will find it interesting... - one time I tap a notification from the app and my phone start to read my book out loud, all my co-workers cheered...pls don't resume reading out loud automatically. - don't interrupt! I just need app to read it out loud while I'm driving. Don't popup anything.

As irritating as it is to use this app, I will keep on to at least get my money's worth until my subscription runs out. In the meantime, at least it's doing something *new* and irritating- now it has taken to separating words so that it pronounces the first letter, and then the rest as its own word. For example, "she" is read as "s" "he". At first, I thought it was simply a typo it was picking up, an accidental space mid-word, but I find it unlikely that would happen nearly *every* sentence.

Terrible app and customer service. I signed up for free trial in the hopes it would help me with the amount of reading I do in my courses. The voices don't read in a natural timing, so there are breaks where there shouldn't be. I canceled the subscription before the free trial was up but was charged for the full year. I messaged customer service and the woman stopped responding before she even got to my problem. I emailed and haven't been emailed back. I just want a response and a refund.

Completely unusable on Android. There is no autoscroll centering of text, which means that text gets cut off at the bottom of the screen, and manually scrolling down doesn't work since it just jumps back to the top of each page. I have no idea why you would program it to stay at the top of each page when PDFs rarely fit the screen well. This app works perfectly on iOS, not sure why it is so buggy on Android.

Occasional loading and processing time for photo to speech recognition that is extensive and sometimes never loads. So, I need to re-scan all the pages... Also, it's reaaaallly fun when the speaker randomly switches to the voice of a distraught person wispering to a 911 dispatcher over the phone. Lol! I don't know what makes the program decide that that voice is randomly appropriate.

This app can be awesome when it work but it only works maybe 40% of the time. It just randomly paused constantly when your trying to listen in the background. It happens with great internet slow Internet with offline voice's everything. There are still a lot of bugs they need to work out. Right now it paises 1 time every 1 min or so. So it's actually completely useless I can't go back to my phone while I'm driving every minute and try to press play or restart the app or restart my phone.

Bait and switch. I'll save you the time - $99 a year. No thanks, even snoop reading everything to me isn't worth that. You can find the same thing online for free. UPDATE: just to respond to the canned response on this, there is nothing that justifies charging this much money. Search text to speech in the app store and you'll find actual free versions...this one tries to trick you which is strike 2 and 3 for me

This app has improved a lot since the first time I used it, which doesn't seem to mean much. I am really glad that speechify exists, I think the work they do is legit and I'm glad for their effort. It's just not a very good app. It constantly bugs out one way or another, ir doesn't have a very smart technology for recognizing fonts and for understanding punctuation and and indexes and how a page works and everything. It feels like it needs a year or two of work to become what it claims to be.

I have ADHD so it's helpful, but the line breaks are super frustrating & cause distracting pauses which derail my focus (the whole point of using it.) I'd like the ability to edit & clean up the text in Reader mode to remove line breaks & word divisions. I've just spent hours trying to find a way to do this on the app and desktop versions, & wasted valuable study time. I'm day 2 of my 3 day trial, & still unsure of I'm going to cancel or try to work around this issue. It has potential!

Keeps switching back and forth from offline to online mode. When it does the app completely stops working and you have to close and restart it to continue. Would work great if it allowed you to download the entire article to function in an offline way such as other apps. When in offline mode it processes the material at a much slower rate. I do not recommend. Shop around.

The Voice continually defaults back to "David", which sounds exactly like the default male voice in MS Word Read Aloud. Every like two seconds I get a pop-up asking if I want to try premium, making the free version basically unusable. Why would I bother paying for something that doesn't work to begin with??? I have never been more frustrated in a shorter amount of time.

The app hasn't worked properly since I installed it. The app changes voices multiple times in many different languages while running, drops offline, and won't work at all while I am on my home Wifi, and now it jumps all over the page while reciting the document. Support responds very limited once every 24 hours, not very helpful. I paid $100, and it doesn't work. I have uninstalled, rebooted my phone, reinstalled, updated the app, and still nothing has fixed these issues.

Tried the free version, which is supposed to allow some daily usage of voices, but the daily quota doesn't refresh, meaning it's buggy and the free voice is very dated. Support's response is verbatim “the free version has limited features, have a nice day" rather than taking any action to resolve it. Their strategy is obviously to push premium by making the free version a bad experience. This is a very poor product strategy, and other solutions have much better UX (NaturalReader).

This is probably my most used app, I do a lot of driving for work so this is an incredible app that lets me listen to my favorite stories. The only downside is the very, very limited word count. Even with the yearly subscription it runs out within the first week and a half, sometimes sooner. I end up spending the rest of the month stuck with very rough electric ai voices. I could have sworn it was unlimited when I initially signed up.

Cancelling my subscription at the end of the year. Using this app for about half a year. I got it primarily to help me read books on Kindle. Recently, this past week, the app has been stopping every time the page turns. I have to press the play button again to continue the text to speech. Normally the playback would continue until I stopped it or "closed" my phone. It's been a great app but now is becoming troublesom, is this a big, feature, or something else? No longer usable for my purposes.
