This app is absolute trash, I keep getting messages,and as soon as I go to reply to them ,he screen refreshes and they disappear 😡. I have only been able to reply to one person so far and as soon as I sent the message, it and the person disappeared from my messages just like all of the others! 🤬🤬 If I could give this app a zero, I would. I can't even delete my account.

Great app to make friends and to learn languages. EDIT: I've just returned back to the app forum about a year hiatus, only to find that my messages don't even send anymore. And the app itself looks no different from when I lasted used it 2 years ago. As sad as it is, I can't recommend it as of right now.

I gave it 5 stars, but for now i will change my rating to a single star, the application doesn't allow the registration via a phone number, doesn't allow to put or change the profile picture, and doesn't allow voice messages, all what can be uploaded is not working now. The problems has been since early February, more than a month without being fixed..

This app is great in theory and I have made quite a few very good friends abroad using it and I've received some excellent native speaker insight. The problem is that the app seems to lag and crash quite a bit and your inbox and messages don't update properly. Also, use caution and restraint when setting your notification options or your other notifications will become lost among the Speaky notifications 😅

I give this app four stars because it gets the job done for language practice, however I do want to address the issue that whenever I try to play a voice message, the app crashes. I also cannot seem to be able to view photos that I have sent (which are constantly buffering). I use a XiaoMi phone, I was thinking maybe it is a compatibility issue but if you can, Speaky Team, please fix this problem.

I really love this app. I have made several good friends and language partners here. I am a native English speaker and have found most people very respectful and serious about learning. I am giving it 1 star now because it has stopped working. I keep getting a message saying can't find users. Have tried logging out, but can't log back in and and also tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. Also I cannot send pictures anymore. Great app. Hope you fix this soon.

This is either a complete scam app or I am exactly what every russian supermodel is looking for. Which is weird because I didn't list russian as a language. Anyway, appears to be mostly fake profiles, although it's difficult to tell because the search features are very limited. Useless trash app for anyone who has put in study time and is genuinely interested in a language exchange.

The app is great when it works. The last few days to a week, it's so slow or nothing even loads. I've submitted a bug report. Lately when I log in, no one shows up in search, nothing in messages or requests. I can't make any changes to my profile: I click save and nothing happens. The same thing happens when I try to invite news users. Very disappointing because the app is a great way to practice languages and make new friends. 😣

the idea behind the app is great, but the chat leaves a lot to be desired. it would be nice if you could upload photos from a PC, as that is where all my notes are. photos are very hard to load, you must restart all the time. I feel lucky if it does go through. same with voice. I have had many people ask if their pronuncation is correct, and I never recieve the recording. they complain of the same thing. PDF files can not be shared either. I feel there is a reason everyone wants to swap their information and move to other chat platforms. they work much better.

This app has been having issues for MONTHS. I'm constantly disconnected, messages fail to send, and people often can't add or change their profile picture. I originally wrote this review 4 months ago and it's STILL TRUE. New interface is worse than before and the app still doesn't work. Messages update slowly, and sometimes you can't even load new people to talk to.

New updates, new problems. The app has been completely refreshed, and they have removed everything that was good about it, and fixed none of the problems. The UI is now very confusing, and lacks a lot of information. Notifications are terrible, and chats do not update with the new message unless you exit and go back in. Also, I don't get any new message requests anymore, when previously I would get a few or even dozens per day. This app is now borderline unusable.

This app is a simple chat app riddled with issues. I used it years ago and it still has the same issues with connecting, messages being dropped, unable to login etc. Not once in a while...these issues are CONSTNT. This is 2022 and this app has been around for years...how is it still so buggy? I don't understand how they could be working on the most basic feature of a chat app (the "chat" part) for so long and it still doesn't work...

** 3/13/2019 update: The support team responds prompty, but offers no solution. The app still crashes and has connectivity issues. * app crashes every time I try to attach a picture to help with making references to the conversation. also, the app in general disconnects with no reason whatsoever every now and then. It's a great idea that has a lot of potential, but it's not worth while as of now.

I constantly give feedback about the problems of the app to no avail. App doesn't notify you when you have text messages; you have to open it to see that people are replying or trying to contact you . You cannot scroll back in your conversations more than 6 or 7 texts. This is so frustrating when you're trying to find a word the partner taught you. So you have to switch your relationship to some other app to communicate. It offers to filter by country of speaker, but that doesn't work either.

Nice concept bad execution. Been using app for over a month. Doesnt show everyone that is currently online. People that I have had good conversations with will rarely show up as "online" on the main screen even though they are. Makes it hard to converse with them more. Im sure it is happening on their end 2. Also too many non-natives for German(mostly arabs.) Sometimes when you look back at a conversation a part of it repeats. I had one in particular that repeated the same 10 sentences about 8x

I really want to give this app more stars, but there are too many bugs. Audio messages are extremely low volume, low quality and no way to fix it. My reputation XP status is stuck at zero for months! Photos fail to send randomly. In app translations is limited to 3 per day?!? Good concept, good community of users, but the UI keeps this from being awesome . Also, it artificially limits you to showing only 5 languages you are learning, I am learning 8.

Not so great. Where I did meet some interesting people, the app and web version have SO many issues. Constantly crashing and not sending messages. I haven't been able to view most of my messages and I was suddenly logged out and haven't been able to log back in. I requested a password change multiple times and only got one about 40 minutes later. When I tried to reset it it said unhandled error.
