Kharé is brimming with things to do and creatures to meet. Visit the Festival of Thieves, battle a ghost, escape from slavers, gamble your fortune at the Halls of Vlada, drink at the tavern, worship strange Gods, and much much more. Will you uncover the secrets of the city, overthrow the Council, destroy an invading army, or leave Kharé to burn?

From legendary designer Steve Jackson, co-founder of Lionhead Studios (with Peter Molyneux), and Fighting Fantasy and Games Workshop (with Ian Livingstone), and designed and adapted by inkle, the app uses inklewriter technology to tell your journey in real-time, shaping the story around your choices. The text itself changes based on how you play and what you do. In combat, the action is described on the fly based on how you play.

Featuring original illustrations by John Blanche and maps by Mike Schley (Wizards of the Coast).

Amazing writing by part of the developers. Not as hard as the original but still makes you feel like you're in this city of ne'er-do-wells where you always have to have an eye over your shoulder. My personal favorite of the 4 setting wise.

Tedious loop After getting through what felt like a pretty successful run through of the city, I'm missing key things to end the chapter. After 3 such attempts I've lost interest in repeating the city for the ONE remaing piece. Im really sad about this cause I want to try the later games..

Much better than the first one, in my opinion. I felt like my choices carried more weight, and the city of Khare is a joy to explore. The game's more challenging than the first one too, since you need to pay attention to the clues you gather during the adventure if you want to get a good ending and be better prepared for the events of the third game.

Sorcery! 2 continues on it's originals immersion with new twists and lots of items to be had in Khare, Cityport of Traps. This sequel has far more content, making the seemingly smaller area of Khare feel like a long winding maze. There are so many paths to choose from as you avoid dangers and gather piles of items and gold in this dangerous city. Certainly worth the price with its built in new game+ style potential ending and many things to encounter. Trust no one, but do master Swindlestones.

No book can ever make a city this epic and in depth. Easy to get lost in and die. Truly testing whether you have the skill to claim the crown. First time I played, I was kind, hated gambling, and got mugged multiple times. The city chewed me up. 7th run, stealing everything, causing fights, and addicted to gambling. I need a real set of Swindlestones/Mindstones.

Really enjoyable game! I've only played a few games of this type but this one isy favorite by far. Great story, interesting puzzles and challenges, and it looks and sounds great. I do wish it was easier to look up the spells, but it's not too bad.

While the game itself is overall enjoyable, there are a few issues that could be easily resolved. It's a text-based game, after all. It's not exactly complicated code. You're just dealing with strings. Unfortunately, the developer seems to have no interest in updating the game at this point, and if you look through other reviews, they don't even respond to their paid customers. It's really unfortunate because Inkle really has something great here. It's just sad it feels like it's still in beta.

The game crashes when I try to access my cloud save from Sorcery! 1 when I'm told to to click on my character to start off, but if I choose the default male or female character, it lets me play. I'd really like to access the cloud save to keep immersion.

Right from the start, it seems like d&d From the books but modernized. Nicely done except. The spell book. I don't have good eyes I can't read it the text is tiny. Most rpg use horizontal screen. I have to tilt the screen vertical and with thick reading glasses To read it hardly. I have to be able to read spells Not only a little but well to play. The text in the main game is fine. The game doesn't work vertical upside down. But my phone holder Obstructs the charging cord. Can't play

My issue with this otherwise good game is that its not made clear when you have "lost." For instance, I may do action X, and 30 minutes later learn that prevents me from doing something else which may or may not prevent me from completing the game. This makes it quite frustrating to have to rewind one you've realized you cannot finish the game. Should I trace back 20 minutes or 1 hour? It's overwhelming when you have to go through the same process again and feels too much like trial and error.

Each installment of the Sorcery! series improves upon its predecessor. The highest praise I can give, then, is to say that each game is worth playing in its own right; not just so you can experience the entire narrative, but because of how different an experience each chapter will provide you with. In this chapter, the game focusses on hard choices. Exploring a city and hunting for clues, knowing that with each path you take there is a whole arc that you've chosen not to take. Sublime.

Brilliant game, manages to encompass you in its story, gameplay and world. I've never quite seen a mobile game that is this good. Although, my only complaint is that the game is split up into parts. Not a problem with Play Pass, but, it might be annoying when you have to buy each part separately.

Man, as far as text games go, this is top-notch. If you ever read a "choose your adventure" book, this is for you. I will most definitely be playing 3 and 4 just to see where this goes. Definitely worth the price tag.

If you like Sorcery 1, you'll love Sorcery 2. It's better than Sorcery 1 because you basically have to rerun it and explore 100% of the city instead of just once. You experience more of the actual game and story in this one, as opposed to speed running your way to the city. However, I can't complete the final spell in the 3 tries it gave me, and I feel like it should give out more hints every loop as to how and where the spell bearers are. I'll probably do a rerun anyway.

Start with Sorcery! (1st) The 'Choose Your Own Adventure' books made into a game. I can't imagine how difficult and expensive this game was to create and maintain. Every action creates a different path to reach the end. The consequences of your actions carry on through the next 3 games in the series, and beyond - to replay sorcery 1-4 again with increased difficulty because of the choices you made the first time through...

I have played both Sorcery! + Socery! 2 so far and I couldn't put either one down. I carried my game over from the 1st chapter with no issues at all and this chapter was significantly longer (my only negative to the 1st was how short it was). This chapter had so many choices, places to go, interactions, etc. Plus the storyline was far more compelling requiring you find certain information to be able to move on. I enjoyed the challenge and am looking forward to Sorcery! 3

I LOVED it! Much more difficult than the first game, but we are seasoned adventurers now, aren't we? 😉 I had to go back some (love that feature), and I got confused once or twice. Figuring it out was FUN, though, not tedious. I thought the city was intriguing. Reallly loved the cast of characters. I hope Flanker makes a return! Superb writing, fantastic game. Great job inkle LTd!

Very enjoyable text-based adventure/rpg game. You explore a city in search of hidden secrets. Cast spells or fight by hand to get through your problems or face the consequences of death, but don't worry, you can rewind time to fix your mistakes. Collect spell components, magic potions, and gamble your way to riches to afford everything you need to complete your journey. Overall, I really enjoy my experience so far and I definitely recommend. I think this game is definitely worth the price tag.

Everyone complaining about lack of clues should be glad they never played original gamebook version of this from the 1980s. It was 10 times as hard. This version is superior to the dead tree version in every way. Better combat system, better version of the spell system, & more content. Swindlestones exists to net you money that you NEED; this income wasn't available before. This version of Khare still feels as cutthroat as ever without being impossible. Great way to experience a classic.

WOW!!! So much more to do & experience than the 1st. The secondary (mini) maps are a great addition. The seemingly infinite options that change with each play keeps the game feeling fresh & with new surprises around every corner & option u choose. An amazing 👏 game that deserves every acknowledgement & download it gets. A choose your own adventure style read with MORE choices, MORE replay, MORE excitement! Game play includes strategy & puzzles that will keep u guessing & wanting more!!!!!
