Redesign slows down ordering (and reordering) considerably. Popup notifications cover buttons and options, taking a long time to go away. Load times have gone way up. App doesn't attempt to pick the closest location, instead it complains you're too far from the one you used last. Even if it's the closest location. A better prompt would be to show the nearest locations and prompt for confirmation. App feels like it was designed by an executive and not someone with a UX background.

App would be great if actually worked but it never does. It's so slow that watching paint would be faster. If you ever get to the checkout option it will keep erroring out and saying they can't compete the transaction. Worst mobile ordering app ever. I just decided to go somewhere else instead of waiting for the app to finally complete a transaction.

Extremely frustrating that you can't check out. Sonic has gotten so expensive and portions so small, if you can't use the deals provided by the app, it's not worth going to sonic. So this is a huge problem. I've tried restarting the app twice, no change. The bug just says, "Error. We are experiencing technical difficulties. Try again later." Which means, I'm going to a different restaurant. Also, the app constantly tells you there's a closer location when you're already at the closest sonic.

The lastest update is horribly slow. Is Sonic trying to make us go back to pushing the speaker button to order? The advantage of using an app in the first place is being able to order without having to deal with audio issues. It's nice to be able to order without yelling into a speaker and then barely being able to hear the person repeat your order back to you. The updated app is so bad it's not even worth it for the 1/2 price drinks. Until Sonic fixes it, I'm out.

This app used to be great. I could quickly order food on the way to the restaurant and by the time I got there and checked in it would be ready; but the new layout and design are difficult to navigate, and the app runs much slower and crashes more often, and half the time it refuses to recognize the location I'm trying to check in, saying I'm "too far away," despite literally showing a 0.0 mile distance. Please fix it or change it back to the old better design.

UI is a downgrade from previous versions, and the new screen flow / interface requires too many clicks. Another issue is that I constantly have to sign in again. When you get the chance, please bring back the previous version. Edit: Need to improve the location services with this as well. Had to roam around the parking lot of the last sonic for several minutes before the app agreed I was actually there. Did I mention that the new location services integration is horrible. Now can't logon/order

I cannot physically place an order on the app after the new update. It's always experiencing technical difficulties, and it makes it to where it is impossible to use this app. Absolutely terrible optimization, and every update just makes the app worse to use. I almost never leave reviews, but interacting with this app has made me frustrated enough to warn everybody else to avoid it like the plague.

(Feb 2024)This new update is the worst app I've ever used. I have to login every single time I open it, even if the last time was 5 minutes ago. It's super slow and is "experiencing technical difficulties" 90% of the time. (June 2024) still absolutely sucks. Wish I could give it 0 stars. The best part of the app (if it worked) would be being able to order ahead when in a rush. Instead I have to spend 10 minutes even getting in the app, signing back in AGAIN & setting the location AGAIN.

This app used to be good, now is borderline unusable. Half the time I order something it defaults to the wrong location, and after selecting the nearest one it will STILL sometimes send it to the wrong location. Sometimes, the check in button doesn't even work. No clue why the app got worse. Maybe try testing your stuff before releasing it next time. Edit: Nearly 3 months later, it got worse. I can no longer make an order outside of a Sonic on a random highway.

Unusable. Absolute hot garbage. Very slow app, always glitches /freezes / crashes. Unable to find my current location, crashes every time I try to find a nearby restaurant whether I try to use my location, type an address, or manually use the map. The number of times that I've had to reenter my order after the app crashes leaves me to not be willing to use it anymore. Since prices are cheaper in the app, it makes it harder to justify going to Sonic if I can't use the app. Start over from scratch

This app is a pain in the a$$. It's slow, you click to change location and it takes forever to open and even after selecting the location you want, it either says no locations available or picks something else. Or, it'll load the top and bottom of the page with blank white in the middle. I've Uninstalled and reinstalled it and that doesnt fix. The old app never gave me any issues. I'm not on an old phone either. So many times I have to ask the store to honor the half price drinks or order myself

The Sonic app used to be amazing until Sonic decided to update the app. Whoever did the app needs to be fired, and Sonic needs their money back. The app is slow and has too many errors. I can't reorder the same thing at a different restaurant, and it doesn't switch to the nearest location, leading to a great chance of ordering at the wrong place. All these issues were tolerable until I started receiving errors for ordering anything. I no longer can get half-price drinks.

App stinks! Had to change my review. In a small town where all you have is sonic we rely on the app to order ahead and send one person from school to pick it up. It used to be convenient and awesome. Now we can't even use it. We have multiple tickets in to customer service, have done all the IT "turn it off and back on" things, and still nothing for 2 months now. When I go to check out it just tried to process and says "error", even with a gift card. Extremely frustrating.

Ever since the app updated it's almost unusable. Changing locations is down right painfully slow. Switching between views takes, what is contradictory to the old version, an unusually long time. I've gotten to the point I try to only go to one Sonic because it's so problematic to change locations. I thought the problem would improve over time. It hasn't in the slightest.

Too slow changing locations. Doesn't have everything from the menu. Should be able to add extra cheese to grilled cheese... Also can't remove cheese from some burgers or other things that come on it. Some people dont eat meat, and would like to remove it or at least put it on the side. Worst rewards app out of all fast food chains. Just overall bad and annoying app experience. Can't order right now, because the app says it's"experiencing technical issues".

I liked the older version better, for just one reason. It suggested your closest Sonic location to you. This new version doesn't do that, nor does it remind you which location you're ordering at. I wish there was a way to save your favorite locations. I've ordered at the wrong location multiple times since this new update, but that never happened with the previous version.

I have grown to loathe this app. Having a VPN will render this app completely useless, and disabling the VPN doesn't seem to help. The location-choose map is a true nightmare and takes glitchy to the next level - it fights with you and won't respond when you click a new location or try to move the view around. And the app only seems to be getting worse and glitchier as time goes on. As for positives, there are good customization options, and they update it regularly with their current menu.
