Overall great port and pretty alright game. Though there are a few bugs because of more modern devices. You can screen lock early in Chaos Collision's boss, and Quartz Quadrant's Boss which completely ruins them. Also a lot of cutscenes look a little weird because of the wider screen space. And i think the achievements are bugged? Or at least one of them are, I have on a few occasions got every robot generator and metal sonic hologram. And still haven't got an achievement for it. Overall 7/10

I haven't played the original game yet, but this is a good port in my opinion. It is the best sonic port on mobile up to date since it has extras which the other ports don't have, and it let's you switch the soundtracks too. The reason that it's 4 stars though is since it's a dpad instead of joystick, would have been nice if their was in option since I prefer using joystick on platformers(I'm insane I know) and since some sound effects are missing. All in all though this is in a good port.

Wonderful port of this game.Yes, mobile controls are a pain, but if you have a PS4 or Xbox one controller, you can use bluetooth and make the game play better. There are a couple downsides though. First are the understandable ads, which I think are a bit excessive when pausing but it's tolerable if you wish to play for free. The other issue is when there are multiple sounds playing ay once, their audio crunches up and it sounds horrendous. Overall, solid Sonic CD experience on mobile.

This game is really fun, kind of a quick game if you play straight without stopping but other than that the game is really fun, yea there are ads but it doesn't pop up every time you complete a level my only real issue is to make the game a bit more challenging by making you restart the whole entire zone again from start instead of just restarting at the back of level. But other than that this game is great

This game is incredible the only problems are that you get punished for going fast and this game has alot of ads even when you pause the game and resume it you have to wait for a ad to finish. sometimes it is frustrating especially since my hands are bigger than the phone and case it is in and it's really easy to touch the pause button on mistake and pause the game. But the graphics are beautiful and tails is unlock able even though there is no super sonic that is fine.

One of the best ways to play the 3rd home console Sonic game. All the zones, tracks, and bosses are here. Did I mention tracks? ALL the tracks? Including both the US and (the much better) Japanese versions? And Tails is playable too! I just wish that Knucks could be in as well, along with a two player mode and a way to access the secret stuff (debug, sound test, ect). But that's okay, I guess. I know you guys probably won't add those in. You still did an amazing job, Whitehead.

Now this is my favorite sonic game. With clashing colors and interesting gimmicks, I feel like alot of work was put into this game. First timers may have trouble with the levels for a couple of playtroughs, but all in all this is a good game and it should be enjoyed everyone. (Also thxs for adding tails to make exploration easier love yall for that! Oh and fixing the collision detection, it was a frustrating thing in the original.)

Very good port of the Sega CD original, done by the same person who designed Sonic Mania. Includes Sonic 2-style spin dash, which is a plus. Time Attack mode is also cool! 2 bugs, however, keep this at 4 stars: A glaring, annoying sound effect bug pointed out by other reviewers, and the fact that the achievement for getting 7 Time Stones is bugged. Even though I have all 7 Time Stones, I still do not have the achievement.

It's Okay. Other than the ads, the port itself is really well done. The reason I'm giving it a 3/5 though is the game itself. It's just not the best. Some things, like the graphics and music are great, but the level design and time travel feature both kind of suck. The boss fight with both Robotnik and Metal Sonic is also impossible on phones.

Honestly, I love Sonic CD. I've been slowly playing the older sonic games since I got the Sonic 3 port for the Wii. The thing is (and I'm pretty sure this is an issue from my phone) the game runs at a crazy frame rate now! Like, before I'm assuming it ran at ~30 fps, but now it's running at least double that now. I'm not sure if it has something to do with my phone's graphics card or what, but the game's basically unplayable now. Too bad I already went ahead and bought the ad-free version.

I give it three stars because of multiple reasons. One: there is a terrible sound overlap error that sounds like screeching. Two: I personally have problems with achievements not unlocking, when I first downloaded this game everything but the achievement "all stages clear" unlocked like normal, I beat the game at least five times but it wouldn't unlock. so a started a new profile and now can't access the achievements or leaderboards at all. This the only sonic game I've had this problem with.

The game plays nicely, but I have a few problems with it. -Ads. While you can play the game completely to the end for free, there will always be ads that jump in your face after beating a level or such. Even on the pause screen there's an ad. You can buy no (non-SEGA) ads for $2 USD, but my purchase seems to have refunded itself for some reason. -SFX: They sound BAD on my ears. While they're okay on their own, they can sometimes turn to static. -Instruction book: HOW DO I GET TO THE NEXT PAGE!?!

Faithful to the SegaCD/MegaCD original but with plenty of bonus features and quality of life improvements! By far the definitive official way to play Sonic CD! The only gripes I have are that the D-Pad is a tad bit small and that you have to be online. It makes sense for the free version (so you can't just turn off your WiFi to get rid of ads), but it does not for when you remove the ads. This isn't enough to lower my score though, as this is an issue with the Sega Forever line-up as a whole.

I'm glad this is back on the Google Play Store, but there are some issues keeping it from a perfect score. The sound can become static-like, which can be really annoying with headphones on. Luckily, there is a sound effect volume adjuster, so it kinda fixes it. Also, there are way too ads. I paid for the ad-free version, cause that's what it originally was anyway. Thanks for making that purchase invaild.

I love Sonic CD, I bought it back in 2011 and I'm glad to play this version with online leaderboards and achievements. At the time of writing there's a few problems -I have the Samsung Galaxy Note8, I was able to adjust the screen size of the game so that the game looked better, but now that Android pie came out, it seems as if Sonic CD's resolution natively supports now, which broken graphics, such as the Title Screen having some white over it

A great port to Sonic CD so you can play on the go! I've really enjoyed playing it and it was a blast! The controls are smooth and easy to control, the levels were fun to navigate, ( Mainly because I like exploring in platformers ) and Overall it's a great port with not that many issues except the fact that an ad plays every time you enter a new level, however it's not that much of an issue since the ads are relatively short. Overall great port to play Sonic CD on the go!

This game is amazing! The fact that it's free to play is just brilliant. Sure there's ad's, but that's how Sega get their revenue(money). Also ad's are shown everytime you complete an act so it never affects your gameplay! Besides you can always pay to get rid of ads. The story is one of the best. The game itself has a lot of cool features that makes me keep coming back!

Overall, an excellent port of Sonic CD. By far my favorite and most replayed of the classic games. But since installing it on my Pixel 6, it seems to keep having audio distortions acrossthe board. Everything from the intro, the menu screen, the sound effects, and the music all have moments where they switch back and forth from being okay to just not sounding right. I'm glad to see that this game is still getting updates, and I hope to see this fixed. If it is, I will bump this up to 4 stars.

Even after 12 some odd years, I'm still very impressed with this port of Sonic CD. The game works surprisingly well on a touch screen and I had no issue controlling Sonic. Though I did run into some issues, nothing major, but still worth bringing up. Some of the sound effects didn't seem to work, mainly the goal post, Sonic skidding, and the end of point tally sound after beating the level. Other than that, it's still a great port. Sonic fans should definitely check it out.

A decent port of the original. The controls do feel a little off at times, often causing issues with game play. I can't compare this to the Sega CD original, but there are glitches throughout (one causing Sonic to get stuck in a conveyor belt and die). The widescreen is very nice, though the controls do obscure Sonic at times. Ads on the free version are annoying like all ads are. When beating the game the original ending videos would be nice to see, but all we get instead is a picture of Tails.
