More About smart Chords: 40 guitar tools…

40 great tools for learning, composing and playing for students or professional musicians. Everything works equally well for guitar, ukulele, bass or many other stringed instruments. Expect THE reference for chords, scales and picking patterns for any tuning. Or THE songbook with access to the world's largest catalogs of lyrics, chords and TABs.
Only the best should be good enough. Expect a best-integrated set of tools. Basics like tuner, metronome or circle of fifths. But just better. The tuner has e.g. an extra string change mode or the metronome a speed trainer.

The ultimate chord library knows every chord and fingering for every instrument and tuning. Without exception! Conversely, there is a chord name for any fingering.

A songbook that is second to none. It finds every song imaginable with chords for any tuning and instrument. Without registration and account. It converts songs for guitar independently for ukulele, bass or banjo. Or vice versa from ukulele to guitar, etc. Of course with the corresponding chords and favorite fingerings. Incredibly functional: Intelligent line break, auto scroll, zoom, audio and video player, drum machine, YouTube integration, pedal support, online editor and viewer, and much more.

Scales galore. Play the scales with all kinds of patterns. Like the pros. And also sometimes different from what you are used to. Provides the diatonic chords for every scale and vice versa.

Expect extraordinary tools like a fingerpicking trainer, a transposer or a tone generator. Or a drum machine for songbook accompaniment or as a rhythm trainer. Or the innovative scale circle. It applies the principle of the circle of fifths to hundreds of scales and modes.

This is a superb all-around app. I upgraded to unlock all of the features, but the free version is still excellent. You can suss out chords, explore tunings, see scales and modes, create song books, and do many other things I haven't even explored yet. The interface is a little overwhelming at first, but that's because there are so many features available. Once you know where you want to go, the controls are fairly intuitive. Highly recommended.

I have had this app for years and it keeps getting better. Robust chord library, great scale workouts, the ability to import chords into a songbook that is stored in the app, multiple tuners, ear training, and much more. AND IT IS FREE! If you are learning guitar or have been playing for years, this app has something for you. You should download it now!

Absolutely indispensable! I would like to make a suggestion...for the chords, have a triad-only mode. I like to to use alternate voicings when playing in our worship group. Being able to see at a glance all of the options for 3-note triads and their inversions would be an awesome feature! And of course, still allow the option of selecting fret range. I mostly use this for chords as well as refreshing my memory on certain scales but it's loaded with features! Highly recommend. It's the best on the Play Store!

Very comprehensive! I love how you can add songs from the internet to your songbook and the app automatically recognizes the chords. When you click on the chord, it shows an image of the chord and how it is supposed to sound. Besides, you can transpose the chords automatically as well! That feature alone is amazing! The tuner is very accurate. You can make a list of your favorite chords progressions, and much more. This app has everything. I purchased the special for $5.99. Very impressed.

This app has been a crucial companion in learning how to play guitar over the last 2 years. I primarily use chords, transposer, and tuner, in that order. Very customizable, and I was pleased to buy the full version of chords and scales, not because I couldn't do without it, but because the free version is so good I thought I owe it to the developers to buy something of theirs, and I trust that their full versions will be even better than the base model. I often recommend this app.

I love this app. It's incredibly versatile! The are so many options and features that I'm still learning to use. It can be overwhelming at first. I'm constantly using it to look up songs and learn chords progressions and alternate fingerings. The picking pattern section is a great way to practice and create exercises. I'm impressed and I love it! Great job, developers!

**Update** The edit song text in a browser feature is AWESOME!. This app is worth more than I paid for it. I can easily edit songs I am learning and add my original songs easily as well*** This app has become one of my best friends on my guitar journey. I am able to find a song I want to learn, load it in the app and transpose it to the key I want within a minute or two. I bought the unlimited version and haven't scratched the surface of the capabilities it has. awesome. also, I can use it on my phone and my android tablet and synchronize the songs between the two so they always match. awesome. thanks for a great app.

I have had this app for a while, and use it ocassionally. I love the metronome feature to pace me when I practice certain songs. The chord library is awesome. I use it to find closer, more convenient chords so I don't have to jump around on the fretboard. I plan on using this app more extensively as time goes by. It will really help me to develop my skills. Thanks!

The last guitar app you'll ever need, and the first you will reach for, every time. Tuner, metronome? Obviously. Scales, chords, arpeggios- yes, AND visually, however you want them, notated however you want them. Every screen and mode supports custom tunings, including number of strings. Chord progressions, theory, etc... it's just the most comprehensive guitar assistant on Android, period. I've loved this app for years.

I was looking for a tuner and a transposer. I thought I'd end up with separate apps, but this came up in the results. I love this app! It has everything I needed and some stuff I didn't know I needed. Tons of features, loads of customization, and a large portion of the functionality is available without paying. I did pay to unlock syncing, and it's been great having my songbook synchronized across devices. Highly recommend this app.

Super convenient app. If I had it earlier on in life, it would have saved me tons of time/money from buying countless books, or other apps that looked like they offered this same thing. It allows you to quickly generate charts / practice plans on entire fret board patterns, including arpeggios,chords/chord progressions /scale charts (print or PDF.) Has great customization too. Highly recommended - it's a great resource for teachers, students, or those who are self taught. Try it and mess around

I use the prime version (buy once for life) and is a complete joy to use when working with my music . Composing, Learning, Recording, Note Taking, Converting, Building set Lists, Charts, Tips, It lacks nothing. I used the free version for years but recently upgraded for the record and save capabilities. If the free version had ads , they must not of been too i ntrusive if I can't even recall if they existed. This is knowledge that only comes with years as a musician, or you download this app.

WOW! As a free app it's awesome, but with the unlimited package this is THE app to have if you are a musician and you are interested in broadening your understanding of chords, scales, and progressions (for instruments as varied as the guitar, banjo, balalaika, & viola!)... Plus, there's a surfeit of extra features: an excellent tuner, an ear training regimen, an interactive circle of fifths, a metronome, a pitch pipe, a tone generator...& a few I HAVEN'T EVEN GOTTEN AROUND TO CHECKING OUT YET!

Simply love it! This app has simplified my life on many occasions. I've been a musician for 50 years and have played with numerous bands over that time, many times as a last moment fill in. This app has saved my skin trying to figure out chords for new songs to play within a few days. Love that you can create song list, add tempo and even tie a video to it for quick reference. This by far is the most used app on my phone. Thanks to the Developer's for all their hard work!

Hands-down the most useful guitar chord app I have found, and I tried quite a few. The free version is feature-rich, but I think this app will be the first app I have liked enough to purchase. The tuner function is a nice surprise... I have tried many apps that were only tuners, and none of them seem as accurate as this one. Add the songbook feature, chord diagrams, and a whole lot of other awesomeness, and that equals a winning app. This is also the first app I have rated a full FIVE STARS because I truly feel that it deserves it. Try it, it's free and you may find out that you love it as much as I do.

This is the guitar (and general music) app that all other music apps want to be when they grow up. Does everything that I can think of, and I keep stumbling on new features that I hadn't. Very useful, easy to use. Better, when I turned in a couple bug reports and feature requests the dev(s) responded, in person, with bug fix and feature implementation responses. Dang. Just like I've always wanted a software company to be like. Now if I can get them to implement non-Western scales...hmm...

It doesn't matter if your a novice or professional musician, this is a very well developed App for every musician's needs. Admin keeps adding essential tools, and this App has just gotten better and better since we discovered it. It's with me every session, and we use it anytime we have an issue. Check out some of the exercises that improve and/or maintain dexterity, tune, timing, etc. Thanks to the developer for keeping this a free resource for artists for so long. Support the developer.

This app is, hands down, my favorite guitar tool aid. I really enjoy learning songs in other tunings, but find I'm pretty limited in only playing maybe that "one song" I learned in that tuning (usually Don Ross or Andy Mckee tunes). So, it's great to use this for a quick reference to some chords and scales and in a matter of minutes, I'm able to have a fun jam session in a completely new tuning, either playing some chords or trying out some soloing. Highly recommend this app to EVERY guitarist!

In looking for an easy to navigate tuner app that supported guitar, bass, and mandolin options, I found this fantastic and overwhelmingly thorough, all-encompassing "everything you need for anything w/strings" app instead. I'm slowly working through the free features offered, and will no doubt end up buying one of the very fairly priced add-ons. Or their all-time access to everything is only 25 bucks! Ultimate gratitude to the Devs, just a gorgeous app all around. Cheers!

Chords are presented in the same format as scales. This will make sense until you look at any other chart in the world. I emailed, to request an option to rotate chords into normal convention. They responded, their way is more consistent and maybe they will add it. I understand that it's the neck represented in a consistent way, but it looks just like a chart and is very confusing.
