This used to be a great sleep sounds app, but it now has awful loud audio ads that pop up every time you look at the app. It runs ok is it is just in the background, but don't accidentally open the app or you will have to deal with a loud ad. I didn't mind the silent visual ads -I know developers have to make money- but these audio ads are ridiculous! As a mom who has had her kids woken by one of those ads, I'll definitely be looking for a new sleep sounds app.

Been using for several years. The sound is good quality and the customizability is incredible. The 3/5 is nothing to do with the quality of soundscapes, but the quantity of ads. Even after paying for the premium, there is still an ad bar that cannot be removed.

Loved the app. Furious that it is now effectively required to pay for the app to keep it functional for its intended purpose. Comical fact is that it is cheaper to have a play pass subscription than to directly subscribe to the app. So either Google or MapleMedia are hurting their customers. My fury is also encompassed by the fact that it has not changed functionality or purpose for the way that app is used. A selective merge loop equalizer of pre-existing sound loops should not be subscribe

Obnoxious ads when turning on and waking up. The last thing I want when just waking up is an obnoxiously loud ad shouting at me when I try to turn off the sounds. I love the app itself and the variety sounds. I definitely need it to sleep. I definitely don't need the loud obnoxious ads.

Same as others, been using for years TO SLEEP, and now it will quit randomly 4 times a night to play TALKING ADS and then I have to play a game of 'close the popup' 5 times to start it up again. Have ads if u want but don't annoy ppl with the app shutting down on purpose to play some commercial on an app they literally use for sleep. Trying to bully me into purchasing this just makes me double down so now im off to search for another app. Stay classy.

This app WAS amazing when it had a tolerable amount of ads for the free version. Now with the new update, whenever you open the app it auto plays an audio ad and I have to force close to get out of it. After two more attempts, finally my sleep sounds play even though more full screen ads keep appearing. At that point I've at least gotten what I needed and I close out of the app. I'm sure my terrible shortcut will be unusable soon. Ugh, will be uninstalling if this doesn't improve.

This app used to be good; I'd been using it for years. Now it stops all the time and plays ads with LOUD sound, which obviously wakes me up and is unacceptable. I had to go find another app when I had been in the middle of sleeping. I will of course tolerate ads for a free app, but not ads with sound for an app that is supposed to be helping me sleep. Uninstalled.

Subscribe or be really annoyed. I've been using this app for a year, and it was great until last week when loud ads have interrupted the sound multiple times when I'm asleep. The app sound has also developed an 'electrical short', or breaking sound. Sometimes it resolves if I put it on airplane mode or re-open the app. I'm looking for a new sleep sound solution today.

Lowered from 5 stars to 2. Used to be a great sleep app. Nice features and a simple ad banner. They have over a 5 year period progressively increased the ads to a point where it is so obnoxious I have to delete the app. Imagine being ready to fall asleep and opening a sleep app only to hear the loudest voice ads screaming at you plus a bunch of pop up ads you cannot dismiss. Lowered to 2 stars because at least it works the same once all the ads are done. I bet they'll change that soon too.

Used to be amazing before update! Still using old version on my other phone and it still tries to auto update app which I quickly cancel. The new version has too many ads, interupting the white noise when ads pop up. Now started doing ads with sound! Completely spoiling the white noise or sleep experience. New version was glitchy before the ads started taking over, where the sound would automatically turn down or off without cause.Uninstalling to find another app that won't ruin naps or bedtime

Update: Uninstalled. Recent update brings audio ads that are loud and completely destroy any zen created by this app, waking all of your family members. You have to close several spammy screens to stop the audio ad as well. And it's very loud. Some ad started screaming in Spanish with Mariachi music in the background at 3am after it randomly quit playing the sound of was supposed to. Not exaggerating. Feels like a troll app. Too many other free apps exactly like this one to keep suffering.

I've been using this app for years, and recently, they have added ads with audio at the bottom of the main page. The sound auto adjusts down after several hours of use. You go to fix it in the middle of the night, and you are blasted by a talking ad. Not cool! I understand you need to make money but this is not it!!

I've been using this app for 6 years and I loved it until recently. For the last few months the sound cuts in and out multiple times a night, about every 45 minutes or so and because of that I wake up EVERY SINGLE TIME. I grab my phone, restart the app and it works again for another 45 minutes or so. I'm so exhausted today and I'm looking for another app. sleepa guys, please fix this, you had a real gem here!

It's a good app, I use it every night....BUT THE ADS. There's too many and its so frustrating. Idk if it's my phone or the app, but sometimes all of a sudden the volume goes super low, and when I go back in the app when in half asleep, BOOM, AN AD ON FULL VOLUME STARTS PLAYING AND I HAVE TO WAIT 5 SECONDS JUST TO CLICK THE X AND FOR ANOTHER AD TO POP UP. Please, get rid of all these ads. I'm just trying to sleep.

The ads have gotten completely out of control. I've used this app for years and I didn't particularly mind when it started making us click through an ad or two in the beginning. Now, however, the ads are so long and hard to click out of. And the WORST part is with the most recent update, extremely loud audio ads play at the end of your timer. There is literally no way to unlock your phone in the morning without it immediately blasting a loud audio ad and waking up the whole house. Deleting now.

Do not use. I'm not one to leave reviews, but I relied on this app for years and it helped me so much with my sleep issues. I was willing to wait for the ads before I used it, but now there's ads before after and in the middle that auto play REALLY LOUDLY. It is impossible to use this to help sleep because you can't even get 6 hrs without interruption. The rain sounds randomly stop as well, leaving only crashes of thunder for me. They had a good product... idiots, whoever made these changes.

Loved this app for years, as of 2024, DO NOT DOWNLOAD. Find a better app. I've loved the sounds and this app since before it changed it's name from Sleepo. I am now about to delete it because, after clicking through all the subscription offers and ads, it opened other apps three times while I tried to press the play button. It's gotten sketchy and unsafe. Make sure to use the settings and turn on "DO NOT SELL MY PERSONAL INFORMATION" if you're going to risk it.

I have used the free version of the app for years while I sleep. Over the past 18 months or so, ads became annoying, and the app will periodically have a night where it quits for no reason during the night. I considered a paid version, but know I'd be very frustrated if I paid for it and it quit in the middle if the night.

It was great when I first downloaded it, but more and more invasive fully integrated ads started (I have an ad blocker). Then it started randomly stopping/crashing in the middle of the night. But newest issue is the worst. It started making weird popping noises in middle of the night, loud and disjunct. It has waken me up multiple times each night and this app is pretty much unusable now. Sleep Sounds is what I downloaded to replace this one. It reminds me of this app before it went downhill.

When I first downloaded the app it was so awesome! It helped me sleep so much better. But slowly they made changes for a few years, and eventually it became so bogged down by ads that it's borderline unusable. The sounds will randomly stop in the middle of the night all the time, and certain sounds that used to be a certain pitch or decibel that you'd grow accustomed to, they'd randomly adjust it. Never for the better imo. Someone ruined what used to be an awesome app.
