Not exactly "pay to win" , but more "pay to have fun". You have to spend stars to upgrade your ship and to play the levels (unless you want to wait for several minutes). You end up grinding the same level over and over again to get a meager reward needed to progress. It's a shame since it's a good looking game with a potentially good gameplay. It's several years old and it kind of shows.

This is an exceptional shmup with crisp sound effects, great graphics, and a satisfying upgrade system. However, due to how they want you to buy stars the progression is so painfully slow that it is an absolute slog to keep playing. I understand trying to motivate people to spend money in a free to play game but you really can't play for very long without paying unless you want to hunker down for an extremely slow experience. Do yourself a favour and play the pc or console version of the game.

There is no mobile game I enjoyed more than Sky Force reloaded. And I have never before spent so much money purchasing upgrade as I did here. I would not have regretted it, should it have actually restored my purchases. And now that i have to start the game all over, with a small red ship, the game had lost appeal for me. If there is something that can be done, I'm all ears. Other wise... what a waste and pity.

I am loooong time fan of this game as well as its successor. Been playing for couple years now. One important thing that needs addressing is how the plane sits under the finger. It should be put slightly more forward because it's never good visible and that is an issue when you play on highest difficulty when a small millimeter can decide about your plane.

It's ok, but, being an utter grind fest, leaves me feeling frustrated. I paid for the 'double reward' up grade. If you don't it will take you forever to get anywhere. Even with the upgrade it is still way too much effort for so little reward! 3 stars, good graphics, great idea, and a more interesting time waster. But to get your plane to a decent level is going to take hours and hours of gameplay - who has the time?!

I liked everything about this game. I have never thought to apply a slow-down feature for when the finger is taken off the screen. I was surprised I'd never implimented that in any of my own games software. The SFX, GFX, and gameplay were all great. The voice work was cute. Nice girl. Gonna play it quite a bit. Nice to find I increased my skill the more I play and could also find it challenging the first few times. Good colour code with powerups and lasers, keeping them starkly different.

It's a wonderful game. I just got one problem, I paid for ad free and still receiving ads. I have also contacted customer service and still no response. If they fix it I'll edit my review.

Great game! I just want my stuff back! I connected fb to it on iPhone before switching and apparently I can't connect fb on this one.. disappointed... still good game though. (To me at least) I just don't wanna pay for everything twice.

This game is harder than the reloaded, card is harder to get, and enemies are too durable, my maxed out canon need a lot time to destroy the enemies regular aircraft, and there is no restart button when the mission fails. Cmon....

Ads are not intrusive. Difficulty level shot up from level 3 even on Normal mode, can't progress without upgrades, which makes the game very grindy and game progression slow. Graphic is nice. Control is easy but sometimes the aircraft gets stuck in place for ~1 second, which is fatal on harder levels (instant death). Otherwise it's good game, suitable for sporadic, short-time fun.

A top-down style arcade fighter plane game. Runs very smooth, love the challenges & upgrades and gets more difficult as you go. An absolute 5 ⭐ classic. 5/5!!

The original game used to be so fun.. the story.. the weapons upgrade.. now.. you've to keep repeating the same stage to upgrade the weapons required to clear the stages.. this is just annoying.. the game is much more difficult to clear without having to upgrade.. bring back the original version setup of the game please into this version..

Excellent plane shooting game. Just 1 ad after each play, which is good because each stage has decent play time duration. Player gets to progress with each stage beat and stars collected to upgrade plane. Down side is that there is no game backup available, so progress will be lost if changing phone.

This game is a fun bullet hell game where both you and the enemy fire upon each other what I like about this game is that it is a pass time for when your bored never gets boring but never gets past the pass time rating. The controls are simple hold and drag you destroy the enemy collect stars(the games currency) and spend it on upgrades to the plane the only down side is that the size and damage of the bullets when you just start off is harsh boat it up a little please...

awesome 80s arcade style space shooter! it's a mix of Galaga arcade, Truxton, Choplifter & a bunch of other 80s arcade, Sega Genesis, and Super Nintendo games of the 1990s. but on top of that, the controls are great, the upgrades are all awesome and fun to collect. replayability is off the charts. works liquid smooth on even older phones like the Note3 and Galaxy S3. but really looks amazing on the Galaxy S10 Plus! Nice music and sound effects. amazing graphics and animations. huge end bosses.

If you like 1942, then you'll like this game. 5-second ads pop out between games and if you'd like to double your stars (in-game currency) after you lose a life, you can watch a 30-second ad. 8 quarters is all it takes to buy the Ads Removal option and improve your gaming experience. This gets you the most bang for your 2 bucks as it gets rid of the ads, gives unlimited lives, allows you to collect free stars every 3 hours, and doubles your stars with a tap of a button (after losing a life).

What used to be a fun top down shooter has become a boring point collecting rinse and repeat. Gathering stars just to get guns that were available when the game first came out is absurd. You're stuck with a single shot for the first couple hours into you get enough stars. On top of that, you have to wait for them to be "installed" unless you spend more stars for immediate install. Not worth my time anymore.

Fun in some ways but there were a few things that were annoying enough to be a deal breaker: the screen brightness/dims every time you lift your finger and my eyes get too sore to play. Also the difficulty ramps up way too fast for how long it takes too earn the upgraded needed to keep up. You'd need to spend several hours playing (and losing) just collecting stars that aren't worth enough and it starts to drag and get tedious. Stars clutter up the screen and make it hard to see enemy fire.

This is so close to being a 5 star experience. But there are two major design choices which I find very perplexing. The first big one is no matter how many times I collect cards(As RARE as that already is) I always seem to get repeats! ...and I only have three cards. That's a bad sign. That gives the player less and less desire to keep playing. The second one, and it's virtually as big, is the grind. I don't mind a good grind to leveling up to add to the lasting value. But this is overkill.
