I Used to love this app. Until they added Advertisements. It if was just a small window while picking music on library... Ok fine just deal with it... BUT!!! And major deal breaker You have to sit through the ADD, the same when you when watching a YouTube video. And it triggers on your Music Library. This will be very bad if your Mobile Data is limited. Because it use it all up, which really defeats the purpose of having Music In your own Phone. No longer a viable free Music Player.

Used to be great until it updated, now I'm bombarded with ads. Uninstalled. Edit: since the dev is replying to everyone with the same response, I'll point out that I've been using this app for 3 years and this "free trial" never existed until today. It's a shame that everything has to be ruined by the need to squeeze every penny from the users. Don't install this and certainly don't pay for the premium version. There are better players out there that don't shove ads down your throat.

RIP, It was good while it lasted. I thought developers were smart people. Whoever thought that bombarding people with intrusive adds would force them somehow to pay the ridiculous fee that you guys are asking for. Is a total MORON! I had this app for a year and loved the ease of use. Lately, it's unusable it won't play & stop randomly. A music player that doesn't play music. Make that make sense. Good luck with that! bye!

I love all their Apps. I wish the Music Player wasn't a monthly subscription now because it's basically just playing the music files that I previously purchased elsewhere... but I get it. They need to make money too and I absolutely HATE that everything wants to stream "their music selections" to me for a fee. So I am happy to support a developer who let's me listen to music I own without "needing to know my tastes and offering recommendations."

Used to be just about what I wanted, so I was pleased with it. Suddenly, I'm getting full page ads?? That didn't happen before the most recent update and it's very intrusive. I use this app almost exclusively to go to sleep, so I REALLY don't appreciate unexpected bright white screens when I come to turn on my sleep music.

Same as everybody else. I've used this app for YEARS, it was simple and easy as the name suggested. Now it is slow, buggy, and full of ads that hamper the entire experience. The response from the company is laughable, they have ruined a good app. This is what happens when business doesn't use customer feedback when planning their development roadmap. Uninstalled and looking for something else.

This used to be my go-to offline music player app until the most recent update where they added ads. I do not have a problem with ads in my free apps, however the ads make the application completely unusable. A FULLSCREEN, MINUTE-LONG, UNSKIPPABLE ad appears when you first open the app. A similar fullscreen ad appars when you add a song to a playlist. Not to mention it seems like the update introduced some fatal UI bugs. I am very sad to say that I can no longer recommend Simple Music Player.

Used to be fine, I mean it would occasionally put songs in the wrong albums and stuff but it worked and I liked the layout, now there's intrusive ads after almost every action you do, there's no one time purchase to remove them but instead a WEEKLY subscription for 15!!! I guess it's time to find a new music player, and pay a few bucks for no ads there.

The app was great, never saw a single ad for 4-5 months. Honestly that was the main reason I installed it in the first place. Updated it yesterday and suddenly I'm slammed with ads, both side line and ones that cover the whole screen whenever I'm navigating through the app. The subscription service to eliminate the ads is $14.99 weekly, which I feel is ridiculous. I'm willing to pay a one time fee for a full version, but the amount of ads is quite excessive. I'll look for something new now.

A great music app with a simple interface and a variety of useful features. Unfortunately it is now ad-supported, and the premium version is priced higher than many audio streaming services. I'm all for supporting developers and well made products, but the monetization updates feel short sighted and greedy. Will be looking for a new app to replace this.

DEV RESPONDED LOL "It’s a pity that the price of the Premium subscription seems high to you. Premium provides a lot of cool features and functionality and is definitely worth the money." For $780 per year?? That's 5x the cost of Amazon. 33x the cost of Netflix. Thanks a lot, ZipoApps. From their website: "We are ZipoApps, we acquire the best apps and take them to the next level." They ruined a perfect (and free) open-source app. Don't reward them with ad revenue. Uninstall recommended.

Glad I waited to write a review. If I could rate less than one star, I would. Previously, when there were no ads this was an amazing app, but now, as with everything else, there are ads simply everywhere. It was nice to have a space where I could enjoy music without being bombarded, but I suppose capitalism wins in the end. I will be removing the app from my phone and searching for something else. No apologies needed cuz we all know they're hollow anyway.

Edit: As of May 3rd, 2024, the app is no longer the unobtrusive service it once was and cannot be used offline in addition to now containing irritating ads. Will be uninstalling this app and looking to Github for open source software music players that lack ads. I recommend you do so as well. What a shame for an app that was once an amazing 5 stars. Of all the apps I've used to play my music, this is by far the best one. It's unobtrusive and intuitive.

I've used this app on various Android phones for years. But this latest update has made the listening experience miserable. I don't have a problem with ads, but the loading ads cause the music to skip. Even when the screen is off. I also get skipping as the phone switches fron 4G to WiFi. Guessing the downloads and processing of the ads is using more processing power than my older phone can handle.

I really enjoyed the app for a while. It was good until it updated itself and went into dark mode, then these pop up ads made it hard to navigate back to song libary. ( I did not mind the ads before that were just on the side lines but now they are in my face). I hate to say it Simple Music Player, but our love relationship may be ending and I will look for new download. I don't mind paying a bit, but not this much.

My gripes are the folder setup is confusing, the app doesn't open quickly, and I can't play music while watching a video or game in another app. I'd like the option to have this app maintain audio focus while in the background. The equalizer is nice, as well as the background shuffle mode.

I used to have a 5-star review, but I'm really upset by the latest update. The app now has constant ads at the bottom of the screen, and rather than a small, one-time purchase as a simple donation -- you have to pay for a pretty expensive subscription to remove ads. I don't see a good reason for this, and if the developer doesn't revert this change, I'm never using this app again, as I can see the road it's headed down.

Would have been willing to pay a reasonable one time fee, but this app got greedy. It now has too may obtrusive ads on the free version and the subscription is way too expensive. Their pat answer to everyone's complaints is to tell them to pay for the ad free version. Loved this app for years, but am deleting it today for a "simple music" app that just allows me to listen to music played locally on my phone without hassle. Thanks for the memories. I guess you were too good to last.

GARBAGE. This app doesn't function. Nothing appears even though there are tracks downloaded on my phone. You can't rename anything. Every action in the app just just "unknown error occurred." How convenient they get an error with no code to fix it. They know there's an error there enough to have the error word to appear but unable to fix it. Why does Google phone blow up your phone with apps but you still have to download something to listen to music. First camera, second music, third phone call

There is no close (as in a "X") to close the app. So after you stop it through your phone, it will open on the last song played. It won't go back to artist or titles. You have to hit back on your phone and restart it. The other issue is it doesn't have a skip song or a double arrow to jump to the next song.
