The dictionary is incomplete but it is still useful.

It works perfectly. My children and I do sentence tests 3 times a week.

I really like this app. It's so far a free service that is helping me learn my basic signs. I'm not sure why but it does deafen my phone when I open it. Which is an ironic or suitable feature given the subject it's teaching. Not sure why the videos it uses bother to give audio. I figure they could have saved on memory/usage if they were all gif type videos.

App doesn't have a lot of basic words and the topics section doesn't work at all. It's blank. Would be great if you could also favorite signs you are trying to learn in order to revisit. It's better that most of the FREE ASL Learning apps out there. This will get you started but isn't what it bills itself to be. This app is also not certified by Google Play Protect. Given the issues Android faces, I uninstalled.

This is great! Though at times I find it difficult to navigate, it still contains a lot of signs that will come in HANDy 😉 My only wish would be for a few ready-made sentences beginners can use, especially like "I don't understand Sign Language" or "I can't sign". Those are sentences I would personally like just so I can show that I won't be able to have a conversation in ASL just yet! Other than that I find it very useful

App is not that good compare to your website. I learned a lot in your website before from introducing ourselves to having a real conversation. since it is lesson by lesson you can easily memorize the signs especially that review part at the end of every lesson. Im so disappointed with this app because it keeps crashing everytime i go to topics. It is way different than what you have in your website :(

A lot of the bugs seem fixed and the videos and games work fine for me!! Very helpful for an easy app for learning ASL

The app stopped working for awhile now. Was getting the daily email but that has recently stopped, not sure why. Now the app won't let me sign up again. I really did enjoy the app when it worked, my son is deaf and I am learning so it was a help. Please fix app Update: They fixed it, very happy to have this learning tool back

Overall the resource is good if you already have some basis of ASL, but if you're just starting out it isn't the most helpful. The dictionary section is more of a vocab list, it'd be really cool to have the meanings of each sign especially for the repeated english words that have different signs. Definitely a good studying tool though!

Opened it, clicked "tap to start" under 'build my vocabulary' which showed me a video. I could play it again at slower speeds, play it again at regular speed, but that was it. There was no explanation as to what the sign was, no caption, and the "next" button for another sign didn't work at all.

Can't download any words or videos. Get an error message that says "There was a problem updating the database" after I open the app or try "Refresh Signs". Reinstalling didn't help. The app usually has so many words to browse & learn, I really liked its function as a dictionary, but right now it's useless to me.

The app just doesn't function really at all. There is one sign, with no explanation of what it means, and nothing else. No other signs, no dictionary as stated in the app, no topics. Clicking the link to update signs and download content was met with an error. I was really hopeful for this app, but it simply doesn't do anything.

great bones, but could use key features to start, the app focuses largely on the overall gesture of a word, and it is offen hard to tell how the persons hand is oriented. the sweeping movement is clear, but details such as what fingers should be used and how to hold the wrist are left out. loved the slowed down speed option, though! third point: there is no resource here on how to structure sentences or combine words for complex thoughts - it is only a dictionary. not a problem but noteworthy

Seems promising. But it would be helpful if the slow down feature was actually slow. Not a slowed down video, because it's blurry. Also, maybe a side and front angle would be helpful so you can see exactly where on the body the hand placement is. Or at least some kind of description of hand positions and shape.

Open the app and it says click to start. It shows a video. I click play. It plays the video with no sound or explanation. I can slow the video down and replay it but that's it. The next button doesn't do anything. It doesn't explain what the sign means. There's a button at the bottom that says "sign of the day" which takes you to a page to sign up for emails.... And it doesn't work, saying there's an error. Under the menu button there's a dictionary... Which is blank, as is every other page

It should be more clear in topic options. Some signs can be used in multiple contexts & a sentence/definition to clarify would help. You can't always see proper hand position & people don't always have facial expressions. There's also some signs shown left handed instead of them all being right handed. It's confusing for deaf people if you sign both right & left handed. The app doesn't work well & freezes/crashes too much. It does have a nice amount of vocabulary for a free app. Good potential.

The people in the videos sign way too fast. There is an option to slow it down, but then it's like a normal speed, so when you're trying to see exactly what hand shapes they are using, many times you can't. Good variety of signs though, and I like the concept of the app. Just slow down please since your audience are mostly beginners.

I guess this app was abandoned a while ago... I redownloaded and the dictionary won't even load. After a second of "retrieving data" it says "ERROR there was a problem retrieving data." Every. Time. No matter if I'm on wifi or data. I still get the sign of the day emails though?? Years ago when I used it, it was very handy. If they would restore the app I would still use it.

Do not recommend. "There was an error uploading the database." The sign of the day is shown, but I'm not told the meaning. I tried to sign up for the word of the day but the email sign up is broken. I can see the alphabet/ numbers tab, but the topics tab is broken as I can't get it to select and search for the word I typed. Also missing is the game portion of the app. Seems like it might not be maintained anymore.

Every time I booted up the app, I kept getting an error message saying "there was an error loading the database". None of the videos, vocabulary, lessons, etc will load. Rebooting and reinstalling the app didn't fit the problem. With how much I enjoyed using the website and how excited I was about doing the lessons on mobile, this was really disappointing :(
