The app and hobbie is absolutely amazing, I have only encountered one problem so far. The mobile app does not offer the upload options, I had to save a contributors dashboard shortcut to my homescreen. Im still a bit confused, the app shoud offer the same options as the the desktop view. Whatever! Either way we solved the problem and moved forward. Awsome is the response I have for the do it yourselfer who is interested in photos or videos. Thanks team shutterstock for your incredable work.

I should've believed the other reviews; it really does compress your photos to hell and back so there's almost no way anything will be accepted. I've submitted 23 photos so far and had 2 approved. Funny enough, one of the approved photos was taken with the same conditions minutes apart from several of the ones denied, proving that you never know if they'll accept your content. It's a shame, because the app is otherwise easy to use.

Everybody is always saying how amazing shutterstock contributor is... well unfortunately that's not the case. I have tried multiple times with this app and it always seems to fail for some reason. 1. You can't just upload ANY image you would like. They have to have certain specification and certain details that nobody really knows how to find out. 2. I've tried more than 5 times trying to submit images and the same error code just keeps popping up for some reason.

Overall fantastic. You can edit metadata on multiple images before submitting them. Easy and intuitive. For future updates would be nice to be able to add accepted photo to a set via app. Would also be nice to copy keywords like in browser version. Otherwise, it integrates nicely with phone and is easy to share a photo from gallery to contributor.

It is extremely difficult to get anything posted to this website. Not only is it excruciatingly difficult to get something approved, if it isn't approved your draft is deleted and you have to start over. It would be nice if the submission was not approved, I could edit it and re-submit it instead of creating a whole new submission. But also when I'm told my image is too sharp, I get really confused because I don't sharpen my images... There's plenty of examples but I'm out of room to write...

I took professional photos with my high end camera and decided to share them on Shutterstock. I uploaded 20 of them, which is a lengthy process, and they were all "not approved" due to them being "out of focus". They are incredibly detailed and there is no focusing issue. Very disappointed with the review process for the app because it is clearly not correct.

It's been over a year now, and I'm still using this app. Seems to be doing just fine. I have made a few sales, but it takes a little time. I don't like how they will approve a photo, later to find out its only for data licensing (AI training). I think it was better when they would either accept or reject a photo. I do like that you can pick your own words to tag the photo. I also like the fact that you can edit your tag info/title, etc, after it's been approved.

App works fine, but the process is lacking. The determination of the expert team is quite debatable and here should be a reasonable method to arbitrate their decisions. I am an underwater photographer and many of my images state out of focus or issues with darkness. Much of my photography is performed with a snoot which is intentional and none of these photos can pass the "expert" review.

Awful. Won't accept ANY photos and give vague reasons like "descriptions must be in English and not be repetitive" but they aren't repetitive and are in English. Or "subject is out of focus"-who are you to tell me what the subject of my photo is? I know exactly what I was focused on when I took it! Recommend you stay away from this app and website.

The app is OK, for which they get one star, but the rest is rather abysmal... including remuneration, which is rather insulting. There are lots of shortcomings besides that and good luck trying to 'get in touch'... that's permanently broken apparently. How convenient... The review process is inconsistent. Some reviewers pass almost all pics, others nix half. Some photos that were rejected will pass with a different reviewer. For landscape you have to heavy HDR or noise reduce. No shadows, mKay?!

My camera is very high-end. My photos are VERY are very clear and detailed. Nearly ALL photos were not approved for being of "out of focus", "too grainy", "subject too blurred" etc. I had a professional digital artwork content person look at them & she verified they are fine & that someone at Shutterstock must be visually impaired to mark mine as such. The Shutterstock company is a HUGE waste of time. I have closed my account. Don't waste your time.

App asks VERY early for a review. What ive experienced has been pretty nice. Intuitive interface, clean easy to use. Whether it performs its function in the long term will decide my updated review. Only complaint so far is their ai seems to think all furry things are out of focus and doesn't let you define the subject of the photo. Maybe giving a selection area would be useful

Really good app. Super simple, easy to use. Almost everything is made very clear when you first upload an image. That said, there are a few things I think should be made clear at the start that aren't. The megapixel requirements for example. I also have a problem where the photos will repeatedly fail to upload, but it doesn't take that long in the first place, so it's a few minutes wasted at most. Overall, good app.

Pretty bad experience, from the AI and their machine learning algorithms autosuggesting that the black people are poor and of poverty to a horrible reviewer process. I followed every requirement to the T, and then they reject and say look at the requirements. So I'd look again and know for certain that I've submitted everything accurately. Overall, it's not worth it. Receiving so many photos a day is no reason for a sucky experience. Just submit on other platforms, others pay better anyway.

Waste of time. I'm a photographer, thought this would help me make some extra pocket change here and there; I was wrong. I've entered pictures with HD quality and been denied for 'low quality' EVERY time. Not to mention when they send the picture back to tell me what's wrong with it, it's in significantly worse quality. Which means the problem is on YOUR end.

The app is okay. There are some things the app doesn't do, and you have to go the website to do them. Also, sometimes photos get rejected for reasons that don't make any sense. For example, I've had photos rejected for not having a model release on file, even though there aren't any people in the photo. Or, I have had photos rejected for having words in my description that weren't in English, except my description was entirely in English and used good grammar.

It's a good concept, and that's about it. There's something wrong with their image reception/image uploading system, because images that were marked for grain/noise did NOT have them in my camera, on my computer, or when uploading to other platforms. They are put into a lower quality that takes on grain/noise , making them unusable. The fact that I can zoom into an image and see details very clearly on all of my devices, but Shutterstock's uploader is trash & ruins them. Fix this. This is bad.

This app makes no sense. First of all, I have to try multiple times before any image is uploaded successfully. Second of all, out of the 10 photos I uploaded, only 2 were approved. The other 8 were rejected because of chromatic noise, luminous noise, sharpening noise, etc. All the photos were taken by me, a professional photographer, using my A7RIII and GM lenses. This app is just a waste of time. But I'll still use shutterstock for stock photos.

Great app at first: great UI, the idea of it all, making small chump change for your photos etc etc. But as I have experienced not even a day having the account and something everyone has had the issue as well, the bot the reviews the photos is absolutely too strict about what approves and disapproves. It's ridiculous. I shoot primarily 35mm film and most of my photos look absolutely great, comparable to a phone camera or High end DSLR. And they're still denied. Waste of time. Uninstalling.

You can easily close out of the app just by trying to go out of a view and then you've lost ll the details you were adding to a photo(s) to upload. It should save as you go through each section and click done so your work is save. Need to be able to upload from other sources than the camera roll. Not intuitive or very user friendly. Needs some serious feature updates.
