As others have said, it requires a lot of permissions (Bluetooth, camera, internet connection, credit card info), and doesn't work great. Plus the bank fee is a lot. I recently tried to add money to my account so my total was an exact multiple of the amount it costs me to do a load of laundry, and after I approved the final amount it decreased it by one cent so now I will have to do another transaction and pay another fee for that one additional cent on the last load. Feels like a scam to me.

Convenient, no need to try to get quarters anymore. The convenience fee is low, and so far the app has linked up with the machines well and not failed on me yet. I'm taking away a star now because the app keeps asking me to rate the app when I already did, first I was able to ignore it or bypass it, now I have to keep clicking yes or no. I has been happening for months, annoying.

Shine pay is convenient, but I am stuck with an error where I open the app, click on the + to add money and it automatically refreshes to add a credit card. When I add the card, it automatically refreshes again to the same add a card page. Its also more expensive to use shine pay at my complex than quarters ($2.00 for shinepay vs just using $1.00 in quarters). I have Un/reinstalled, rebooted phone, tried a diff device. I have android v. 10.

App crashes every time I try to manually type in the machine number. Also never scans...I stood over the machine QR code for a full 90 seconds watching it focus and de-focus and over and over again. This app also forces users to enable Bluetooth and Location, which is a violation of privacy standards. I complied and enabled both location and Bluetooth but the app still crashes or never responds. I'm a mobile tester and I can guarantee that these devs are not testing for all android versions.

This app does not work with Galaxy S10 Plus. No way to sign up with new account or sign in with existing account, toggle button does not respond and it keeps crashing. If you contact customer support they will keep insisting that you force stop and restart the app, and if that doesnt work to try again in a spot with better internet connection. App works perfectly fine on an iphone though.....with the same internet connection tried on the galaxy phone.

Zero machines worked. QR scanner was very slow to pick up. Have to load money first instead of just having card on file. I would scan machine, it would ask for payment, then after attempting processing, it would error msg: cannot find machine. I even paired w it on bluetooth (pt less extra step)... Overall clunky and actually useless for me. Ehr i mean, successful at preventing me from being able to wash clothes and success at helping me get rid of some detergent in two load bins.

Great idea, lazy implementation. For the longest time they didn't even have an app icon, but at least it worked reliably. Now they have an icon, but it struggles to connect to the machines. Keeps telling me it can't find machine, and I have to "reset your phone". By booting the app several times, and retrying the purchase, it will eventually work. This wasn't an issue a month or two back when it has no icon. I guess you can't have everything.

I would give the app more stars if I could input an amount before I scan the machine. On the ones in my complex there are different prices for different cycles and such but it won't let me change the standard $1.75 payment when one of the cycles is $2.00 I'm not going to charge $1.75 twice because then I'm spending $3.50 for a $2.00 wash.....change it so you are able to input the amount you want!!!!!!

New: customer service reached out, the app immediately starting working. That's fast proactive. I have been using it without issues. Put enough $ on the app to avoid processing fees each time. Sucks been trying for a week to sign up since our building switched from quarters to this app. It won't let me sign up and it keeps crashing. I have uninstalled and installed a dozen times. My laundry is piling up and because of COVID19 I don't want to go to the laundromat a few blocks away. This blows!!!

I was super excited when I found out my apartment building was switching to coinless. But then ... This app charges a convenience fee to add money, even if you use a debit card. Also, when our dryers used quarters, you could increase the preset time by adding additional quarters. With this app, you can't do that, which means more money spent drying clothes. Unfortunately, when this device was installed, they took the quarter option away. Lastly, it didn't recognize one of the dryers.

Good... if the internet connection is good. crappy if the app can't connect to their servers. At the very least it should tell you there is a connection issue as opposed to saying it can't find the machine. better yet, it should work offline if it had a record of money in your account. EDIT: Thanks for the response and recognizing this can be a problem. I've upgraded my rating to 5 starts instead of 2.

I have a Samsung S9. The the app will not let me sign up. I entered a email address, then i attempted to enter a password. The cursor just blinks and will not accept any characters. I attempted this about 3 weeks ago. I deleted the app 3 weeks ago and reinstalled it today to see if maybe the issue was fixed, but the app reacts the same. PLEASE ADVISE

Updated after helpful feedback from ShinePay. Still at 3 stars because there is very little instruction or error handling in the app. If I didn't leave a review, I would be stuck thinking the app is broken. For others who might have problems - make sure your Bluetooth is on and not connected to anything, and that location services are active!

My building just added shinepay to the washers and dryers, it works fine on the new machines, but on the old machine you pay and press the button and nothing happens. I tapped that purchase in the app and selected "Request refund", it said your request has been made. But there is no email sent and no place in the app to see where refunds have been requested? And all the help pages in their app link to pages on their website that are "not found". Super frustrating.

Works fine when it works or when there's connection. I had 3 issues with this App, 1.- It just erase some of my balance for no reason, 2.- It charge me twice for one load/machine and 3.- Out of the blue without me even opening the App for a few days... I found a random unauthorized charge from them in my bank account. Now, my lanldlord approved 2 refunds because the App didn't work and one just disappeared from my balance. Also, they never got back to me about taking money from my bank account.

It's good but for some reason where I live they were never able to figure out how to get the dryer part working so we only have the washing machine, so we still have to use quarters. Seemed to be extremely difficult I guess impossible, to get the dryer part working they tried at least six or seven times, brought out technicians etc and never could figure it out, so they finally gave up.

Once you type in a machine number, you are automatically charged. If you put it in the wrong machine or want to cancel your load, there is no option. The return cash button will not work and you are stuck with your charge. When calling customer support, they only refund the actual cost, but not the credit card fee that they charged you as well. This is not good customer service for a mistake on their end.

So far I haven't gotten it to work. It'll take my money, of course, but won't start my machine. QR won't scan, maybe too low light. App should allow the camera flash function while scanning QR. So I enter the machine ID manually... Doesn't work. And then it'll crash randomly, and has no "exit" function. So the app needs some work. All it does successfully is charge my bank and that's it. Fun

Absolute scam. Every part of this app is broken at least a significant portion of the time. They told me to reach out with feedback/questions so I did and they did nothing to fix it. Literally all of the links in the app are broken or redirect to the wrong page. The QR scanner works some of the time, but the app can't even be downloaded on older phones, which is completely insane considering how many elderly or poor people have older phones. This app should not exist. Landlords should avoid.

Terrible app. First 35 cent charge for every CC transaction. Does not allow you to track machines. Does not tell you if you successfully put money into the machine so be careful not to double up on a machine with two payments. No other information about machine availability. Our apartment complex changed to this app and system. We would not have chosen this. Again terrible. One star because I can't put zero.
