This mobile payment application provides a secure and convenient way to pay for fuel at the comfort of your car, as well as purchasing any items inside the store at participating Shell stations in the United States.
• You can link your Shell branded credit cards, checking account (via Shell S Pay), PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, or directly add your credit/debit card: Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover.
• There is a NEW way to pay with Shell eGift card. Add or purchase Shell eGift cards from your app!
• To pay for fuel outdoors, simply unlock the pump using the app. Or to pay inside the c-store, present the app QR code to the cashier. Either way, you are back on the road in no time. Everything you need is in the app, including loyalty program integration, receipts, offers, and station locator.
ELECTRIC VEHICLE DRIVERS
The Shell App now supports EV drivers! Drivers using the Shell App can select the EV option to access the Shell Recharge network. The Shell App allows EV drivers to locate the nearest charger, check the station’s charging status, start and stop charging, and easily make in-app payments.

Great when it's working but it hasn't been working for the past couple months. When I first used the pay at pump feature it was easy and a time saver, but for the past couple months the pay button did not work. Today when I went to fill up the pay button worked but the transaction was unable to process. Wasted time trying a few more times and just had to fill it the old fashion way. I was only able to use the pay with app successfully twice. Please fix your app especially the pay feature.

July 2021 Update; the app has been working more consistent now. Love being able to touch very few buttons at the pump. Super convienent app. 2020 review I'm not happy with the app lately. I see others are having similar trouble. The help line was not helpful. Disappointing that during the time we need more contactless options the app doesn't work to pay at the pump.

I'm also going to give the app 1 star because of two reasons. Number 1 as others have said lately the offers that I activate don't come thru after I make the required purchases (and customer "service" has suddenly gone stupid) and two. The transactions history they claim is ONLY there is NOT. AndI've been using this reward/app system for several years now. It went from really good to really frustrating . To the point like others I'm just not going to waste my time.

Convenient way to pay when it works, which is not very often. The app is very buggy. The program itself is okay, however the app is basically useless. When I attempt to enter a contest, I either get a system error notification or it tells me my password is not valid. I've updated my password and reported the issue to the developer. However I've had no response from them.

Where to begin... This app is incomplete and you also need the Fuel Rewards app as a companion but it's as buggy as this app. For some reason more often than not this app cannot retrieve my rewards info to display. There is a search option but it doesn't offer current prices (Fuel Rewards app does). When you try to pay at the pump the transaction fails but it dings your account as having made a transaction which locks your account when the problem was theirs. The list goes on but not space.

App is horrible, always has been. A large percentage of time it cannot find the location you're currently sitting (very visible intersections in very large cities with locations that have existed for decades). Another problem is even when it finds the location, it has problems making the transaction resulting in cancelling & trying to start over or forcing you to use the manual credit card swipe method any way. Really is a huge waste of time instead of a quicker convenience. Support is horrible too, they never helped me or even responded in some cases. Uninstalled this a long time ago.

The app used to work fine (2.2.0 and before). It allowed me to bypass the excruciatingly slow pump screens and quickly get gas, no swiping cards, no typing in zip codes, no need to decline car washes or catch the screen at the right time to get a printed receipt. It just worked. And I showed my gratitude by exclusively buying from Shell. But... that's all over now. App has deleted my card and made that option unavailable. And the discount shown in the app isn't even correct anymore. Uninstalled.

Never shows I'm at a station (I tried 3 stations), so authorizing a pump from the app is impossible. Basically completely defeats the purpose, uninstalled. After reply from the developer, tried the phone number, sat on hold, gave up. I then submitted 3 different error reports when the app failed to detect I was at a station, it includes the exact GPS coordinates the phone sees, and I included screenshots from the app errors with each one. Each time I get an automated email saying "we'll get back to you in 24 hours..." I'm at 1-3 weeks now an still have not gotten a single response. Pathetic.

I have had so much trouble with this app! When it works, it's awesome. Otherwise, it's excruciatingly annoying. I won't go into the past; except to say that even after corresponding with Shell, the problem was not resolved & representatives ceased communication, rather than to come up with a solution. My current problem has made the app unusable. The credit card that I had on file has expired & apparently there isn't any way to update your payment method?!?! I've tried!

Have not been able to use app for 2 months. Always gives a "transaction limit reached" message. Maybe it's a compatibility issue with Android 10, but who knows. Support is dismissive and doesn't give any workaround or timeframe for when it will be fixed. With the proliferation of skimmers at gas stations in my area I'm just not willing to use my physical credit card. So I guess Shell doesn't get my business as long as the app is broken.

This app is 100% trash. It doesn't save my rewards when I use the service, it also never works when I try to use it and always have some technical issues. I am also disappointed that my settings are never saved because the pay feature is not everywhere and when I proactive search to see the shell stations, the filters always revert back to ALL stations. Was nice in the beginning to have all receipts together, but not super user friendly and no longer worth it. Delete.

You can trust on it to fail most of the time. We end up wasting time at the gas station waiting for the app to load and when we get to the final stages of completing a transaction it fails stating that there's a technical error. Hope Shell is able to give this app a proper and decent upgrade, because this app is what drives most customers to Shell sometimes!

It's good but not great. As an android user, I'd like to see a widget come from the app. Something that I'd be able to access right from the home screen and because I've already unlocked my phone, I wouldn't have to go through another verification process. Other than that the app is pretty straightforward but a lengthy process just to get to the payment screen. Suggestion - when the app detects close proximity to a Shell, it should automatically take you to the "pump number" screen. Save time!

Ok. Cool. It was great when the app worked. I really enjoyed the pay at the pump feature, plus my little discount. However, for the past 2 months, it doesn't work at all, and there is no update or bug fix in sight. Is shell losing money on all the discounts and shut it down? The only response we get is an generic unhelpful computer response. See below.

After the initial setup of making an account and adding a payment method, it works really well. The biggest reason I use this app is that I no longer have to swipe a physical card (gas stations are notorious for skimmers). Something to be aware of, however, is that most, but not all, Shell stations have been upgraded to support payment through the app. You can use the map functionality within the app with the "Pay & Save" filter turned on to filter out any Shell stations that randomly don't support the app. Other users have reported infinite update loops; I've experienced nothing of that sort across two phones and around a year of use---everything has worked just fine. What I wish is that the app would show you the actual price for each station on the map, but I guess there are other apps that will do that.

Frequent technical issues when updated and at random times. I have to clear the cache and data and log back in for it to work and even then it's not guaranteed. When it works, it's good. Update 12/17/22: this new update fixed several of my previous complaints. So far, it works without having to clear data. Hope it stays that way. Will update to 5 stars.

Nice!! (saying it sarcastically) Just one thing that this is for and it doesn't work properly, and that is to pay at the pump without having to use cash (if you don't have any at the time) or a physical card and get some savings at the same time, just through the app. Magically when you have the 10c/gallon saving, the "Pay Buttom" doesn't work. Just nice!! (sarcastically said again). By the way, this has happened to me several times!

After using the S pay option, there was no additional discount on gas price. I had money in the account at the time but instead of taking funds out, shell waited half a week before attempting to take money, I received a debt collector invoice of over 100 dollars because of a additional 35$ fee. At the original transaction, I had enough money to pay all needed, and Shell should have taken the funds immediently. Upon attempting to pay the debt I spent 30 mins on the phone. Horrible service.

Cool app for finding Shell stations and I enjoy the Shell Pay feature. I trust Shell to give my car the best fuel so it's about all I use. I gave 3 stars because the most important feature I look for in the app is either unavailable or so inaccessible that I can't find it - price. Add the different prices between stations and this would easily be a 5-star app.

So my original rating was a 1 star because it stopped working and the phone number they suggest doesn't help. You wait on the phone just to be told it is a different number you're supposed to call and they would hang up. BUT now, the app is working again, and it's awesome. I usually have it running as I pull up and by the time I get out the car, the pump is ready to go. Not only does it make it faster, but also gives you that extra layer of security for your credit card info.
