EDIT: Dropping this review to 3 stars because of one reason - the app infuriatingly screwing up scrolling to drop in an advertisement banner. Fix this nonsense! I love seamless and great to have the ability to order right from your phone. There have been minor issues in the past with my card and address but all were resolved. It's great to be able to order dinner on the walk home from work or order breakfast from bed before you're ready to get up.

Not great. They'll quote you a delivery time, and once the upper bound is passed, you check the app, and they've just moved the delivery window back 40 minutes. You order is supposed to arrive in 35 minutes, but actually takes 90 minutes with no notification of the change. Seamless is only for people who aren't hungry when they place the order. Previous: Real good. Didn't get my food one night, was refunded no problem as soon as I emailed them the next day. great customer service

Seamless is pretty terrible. You will end up paying double what you would if you picked up. Most restaurants are horrible at delivery; they take forever, your food is cold and often incorrect, and sometimes it NEVER COMES. Imagine waiting for hours for food only to find out the order has been cancelled! But worst of all, is how expensive the app is.

Important note: the app includes discounts on first time orders from some restaurants. Be wary of them. 4/5 of the times I've tried to use them they didn't work. The total shown at checkout had the discount included, but then I got charged the full amount and the receipt from the app did not reflect the presence of any discount. Customer service cannot correct it either since it was applied automatically not with a code, and the app "is not responsible for any discount which is not applied due to technical failure." Overall good customer service with the app besides this. If your order is messed up they give you a refund, but this will usually only cover the food, not the delivery charge or tip.

Probably has the best deals and lowest fees so I've used it more often than other services. But like doordash runs into connection issues where it doesn't register selections then doubles it when you try again. Also rating after it's delivered is hard to get to, they delay it which makes answering questions if it was delivered on time hard. They have fixed it so you can see delivery fee and if they're open right now in the list view rather than when you click on a restaurant which is a big help.

UPDATE TO EARLIER 4 STAR REVIEW: Wow. I really dislike the redesign of the app. Idk if others are having the same issue, but the new version (late 2020) for android is just really not intuitive. We have been using other apps, because this redesign is so bad. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We use this app all the time. My only request is for the Android version of the app to make it easier to avoid getting so much plastic (utensils, straws) with your order.

App update today broke many things, such as losing several categories at restaurants I frequently order at (the entire selection of appetizers is gone at my local diner, for example). That and the tip is now calculated POST tax. update: still a terrible app- the order button is gone completely after you go through checkout. you have to use the website to order, you can't with this app. on the bright side, going to the restaurant websites instead is almost always cheaper or at least the same $.

The search function has gotten a lot better, and I love how the app remembers your customizations and special instructions for each item you've ordered. While the search function is much better at returning relevant results for food items with more than two words, results returned still include hits for each word individually (and quotes or boolean operators have no effect). Also, I'm concerned that reviews are not anonymous enough and that a restaurant could match reviews with my account.

Changed business model, now delivery is not free. Most restaurants now charge an exorbitant fee of up to 6 dollars for delivery unless you pay seamless for a monthly subscription. The app won't let you see which restaurants charge a delivery fee and which don't, you only find that out when you finish your order and by that point, you're "pot committed". That's malicious design if I ever saw it. Keep working on it, or a small start up will overtake you very quickly.

Upgrade lost order histories, and some auto fills. Increasing the catagories with horizontal scans when opening the app only puts an extra hurdle to getting to what you want. And when scrolling down a long menu, if you check an item out, you end up at the start of the menu and have to scroll down again EACH time. Very annoying. Upgrades can be the opposite of an improvement.

I use this app when working in Port Arthur, TX. I work long 12-hour shifts and prefer to have my food delivered. Seamless and Grubhub both are extremely inconsistent when showing which restaurants are available for delivery, even when most of those same restaurants will pop up when you select pickup. Sometimes, if you refresh enough times, restaurants will pop back up in the delivery options. Otherwise, you're just plain out of luck. Very frustrating to use.

Delivery fees are increasingly buried - they used to be visible from the main menu, then on the restaurant page, and are now only available at checkout. The algorithmic sort is the default, and there's no way to save your preference if you would rather see restaurants listed alphabetically or by distance every time you open the app. Knocking it down from 3 stars to 2 because even though I've already rated, the app keeps prompting me to rate it.

Up until about a week ago, I would have given 4 starts. Now, it just randomly spins, and won't let me complete any orders. When I can actually get an item into the cart, it suddenly makes me have to sign in to my account AGAIN, and then just spins and erases my items. Irritating, since I paid for the preferred delivery service, and now I can't use it. I've un/re-installed several times. No better.

A few months ago, they got rid of the ability to jump to a section of the menu for a restaurant, which makes it much more time consuming to choose dishes, since you have to scroll through every dish to get an idea of what the restaurant offers. The search could also use improvement; searching for "ice cream" will show results that match either "ice" or "cream", which is pretty much never what is intended.

the app is really good overall. makes it easy to order what you want. the drawbacks come with the review system: for some reason, it always takes me a really long time to figure out how to leave one. placing an order to a place where I haven't left a review, should pop a link up on that place's page. another huge issue, for me, is that when leaving a review, I can't type normally. when I swype, it eats my spaces, and speech to text doesn't work right either. fix those keypress events please.

I love the app and use it daily. I have for a long time now. Very easy to use. Consistently delicious and reliable restaurants. Great selection of options. Good offers and promotions. My only reason for retracting a star was for customer service. Months ago I had an issue with missing food. It was a late night order. I contacted customer service a few times with no resolution. I was promised an email or call back I never received. Never resolved. Recently i had the exact same experience. Thankfully an associate named Angelica, it cut resolved after 2 unsuccessful tries previously. I just feel that as the facilitating 3rd party they have as much of a responsibility to resolve these issues as the restaurants they promote.

Sorry, but have to lower my rating. Pro: Great way to find new restaurants Cons: 1. App needs the [Add to bag] button to float at the top of the screen, or a scroll bar on the side, when selecting options in menus. I've now had the wrong item delivered more than once, and it's not the restaurant's fault. When scrolling down to hit [Add to bag: $---], you can easily end up selecting something lower in the menu because you have to touch the screen to scroll down.... either [Add to bag:...] needs to float at the top of the screen, or there needs to be a scroll bar to use to get to it without inadvertently changing your selections because you touched the screen in order to scroll down. Yeah, double-check the cart -- and I usually do, but when ordering multiple items a wrong thing can still slip through. Recently it was my sweet potato fries to go with my burger being swapped out for rice.... seriously? FIX THIS. I'm actually using Seamless less because of this issue. I don't have an issue when I use the website, but the app is giving me agita. Please fix that..... seriously. 2. More and more of the restaurants are tacking on delivery fees, and some of them are pretty darned high.... $4.99 to deliver a burger? Nope. And no option to filter on no deliver fee.

This is a really lousy app for an otherwise great service. There's no way to search for a restaurant, no useful navigation, no saved preferences to speak of, and the interface managed to be both too minimal and also confusing. It seems like it was designed for small mobile devices, so on a tablet it becomes very odd in layout. I can't wait for a new version that it's a bit better designed.

App occasionally glitches and needs to be reinstalled. Customers support emails you promo codes when your orders get screwed up, but I feel they should be added to your account and selectable at checkout instead. It feels odd to have to dig those out of email, almost as if it's an intentional barrier from using them Adding a custom tip pre-populates an amount that doesn't self erase when you start typing. I wouldn't have hit custom if i wanted the value that a button was offering.

Helpless, that is the case with the Help feature that keeps crashing with an Oops, something is wrong with this page screen when you try to report an issue. Makes cancelling orders impossible to do in a timely fashion. And even when the app doesn't update it forgets your saved information so you have to spend more time filling your preferences out when you just want to click and be done. And like everyone else they are adding more options without fixing it's core functions.
