Edited to add: I used to rate this app at five stars, but ever since the 2sv has been a thing, I've had to lower my rating. I can't even log on to my banking on a personal desktop without having my mobile phone nearby for additional verification. My bookkeeper can't update my QuickBooks banking statement without me having to verify at the same time on my mobile. It complicates everything about doing my banking and it is annoying enough that I've considered shopping for a new bank.

Like all the others posted with negative reviews, I too have the same experience. Always frustrating and can never get through the 2 steps verification. I understand this new verification is to make it more secure for legitimate users, but everytime I tried to access my online account, it takes me signing in over and over again to reset the 2 steps verification and it just doesn't work.

forced over to the app because the website continuously won't let me log on without a Auth code, which never actually gets sent. and of course when you try to reset that whole thing, the account locks you out which gives you the fun of giving your info to someone in India and hope they understand the situation enough to resolve it. the app itself works well most of the time but have also experienced the same problem at login. So for the combined experience, even 2 stars is a bit of a gift.

Flaky app that always has something wrong with it. For a while I couldn't deposit cheques. Latest update fixed that, but now the links to Scene are broken for me. Seems every update breaks something.

Constant problems signing in and using it as 2-step sign in for logins elsewhere. Frequent error messages 'this service isn't available right now', and 2SV notifications rarely come through. Reinstall this app many times over in order to be able sign into my own account on a browser. Issue is not my device - same happens on other devices, and no other 2SV for any other banking / secure site have issues. Just this one.

When you get a new device this app works horribly. 24 hours for me to get into my accout. And difficult to sign in afterwards. The 2 factor authentication didn't work (nothing sent to my old phone). I was made to answer a billion security questions. It took me 3 attempts just to sign in. Upon my next sign in i got an error message. .. and then the app refused to let me sign in with my password and sent me on an infinite loop requesting my finger print (which never works anyway!!)

Always working on fixing their "display". I had to transfer money from my savings to my chequing account and I couldn't coz of their display thing. This has happened so many times now it's becoming really annoying.

The two-factor auth is so buggy. If you activate it be warned that it will mess up logging into your online banking through the web browser and other places. It can never read the cheques I deposit from work so I have to go to the teller anyways. The help articles online are a joke most of the time you can't actually do anything on your account by yourself you have to get help from an agent. All I want is to take the overdraft off my account. Why does everything have to be so hard to use?

"Something went wrong" error when I log in, then kicks me out. Also, the widget has never worked. Update: Got a new phone and the widget is limited to 1x3. Which is useless. It was expandable on my last phone, but not on this one.

Everytime I get the notification asking if I want to sign in it NEVER lets me do it. I'm so tired of this. I literally can't check my cra stuff because this app won't actually give me the option to sign in. Just asks if I'm trying to. Clicking on it does absolutely nothing. It used to work... I've updated everything I can with my phone and the app, my internet, all if it. This app, and quite frankly, the whole bank, is useless. If I could give this no stars I would.

It's good when it works. But I've found in the last few months (it's July 2024) that the Scotia app ALWAYS has a problem. Half the time it won't let me log in, the other half it needs a couple tries to look at accounts.

"Something went wrong, try that again" is the story of this app. When it works it's fine, but it rarely works correctly consistently. I also can't see details of my Mortgage. Unless you have credit or debit accounts with Scotia, overall the app is pretty useless. Unfortunately the Scotia Wealth app is plagued with the same issues.

The 2405.0.1 version has once again destroyed the app. You sign in, it crashes. You try to do your banking on your computer, it mandates 2FA - which crashes. So you're basically locked out of your bank account and can't pay your bills because Scotia can't even manage an app that will start up properly. Embarrassing mess. Do they fix it? They do not. Unreal.

Frustrating corporate robbery tool required to exist in the year 2023, no better or worse than any other bank. The credit card payment section never suggests paying off your entire credit card bill, it always insists on leaving money on your credit card so the bank can charge you interest unless you physically check and type in the exact number that you want. Why are you only two options for quick pays on the app $10 only or $50-$100 less than your total bill? Complete failure

Overall it's a good app, but when it fails, it fails HORRIFICALLY. The issue stems from cheque deposits. The app has accepted a deposit, only for the bank to return it (text on check too light. Computer check). So, it's returned. After the check has gone through once digitally, it can't be deposited again. Not online. Not in person. Not at another bank. You must get a new check. If you can't reliable deposit money . . . . Imagine . . .

The app only works once. After that, I cannot log in. It keeps doing the eternal loading circle. Will uninstall this, so disappointed... This is ridiculous. I cannot sign in using web browser without reinstalling this stupid Scotia app for the 2step verification. Before, I could sign in and got text message to confirm. Ever since downloading this useless app, I am stuck with 2step app push notification confirmation only... 😡

The app has been plagued with issues for me for ages. Every day for two weeks, I have tried to open it and a pop up appeared saying "something went wrong", I hit retry, same message again, and the third time the app just closes. Deeply unpleasant, entirely useless app. This error has happened to me every month for the last four months. I'm done with this app and the bank itself.

This app continues to frustrate and annoy me. The number of glitches that have panicked or caused me actual problems is unacceptable. Plus the two step verification causes me to panic when I'm trying to do something quickly. At least give options instead of just waiting for a slow as heck text to come in with a code. This app alone has me looking at other banks as bank personal can't help with in app problems. Fix your app scotia

There's some things missing, which then makes you need to use the browser, but sometimes you have to use the browser on your computer as some things can't be seen on the mobile version of the website. Scotiabank is a decent bank, but the accessibility isnt the greatest, and even some times you need to go to a terminal, then bankteller, then call the back of the card, oops, wrong card, oh? you havent stayed in the same place for 3 mo+ looks like we cant help you. Just too much hassle sometimes.

Have to wonder if they ever test this app or use it themselves. Bug after bug after bug. Almost never opens successfully on the first try, usually crashes at least once if not multiple times in a row on opening. Cheques won't be recognized at least half the time. Theoretical it's handy that it notifies me if an expense seems unusual, but the only option is to lock the card, even if I did authorize the purchase...if I try to dismiss the warning, it just pops up again and again, making it useless.
