More About Samsung Voice Recorder

Samsung Voice Recorder is designed to provide you an easy and wonderful recording experience with high quality sound, while also offering playback and editing capabilities.
For your everyday needs, we developed a “Voice Memo” recording mode so that you can convert your voice to text (Speech to text).

Available recording modes are:

[STANDARD] It provides pleasantly simple recording interface.
[INTERVIEW] Two microphones located on the top and bottom of your device will be activated to capture you and your interviewer (or interviewee)'s voices, it also displays dual waveform accordingly.
[VOICE MEMO] Records your voice and then convert it to on-screen text, so called STT.

Before starting the record, you may configure
□ Directory path (If external SD-card is available)

During recording,
□ You can reject incoming calls while recording.
□ BOOKMARK the points you want to mark.
□ Background recording is also supported by simply pressing HOME button.

Once saved, these actions below can be performed:
□ Both mini player and full player can be launched from Recordings LIST.
* Built-in sound player supports media controls such as Skip muted, play speed and Repeat mode.
□ Edit: Rename and Delete
□ Share your recordings with your friends via Email, Messages, etc.

* Not Support S5, Note4 Android M-OS
* Available recording mode depends on Device Model
* This is Samsung Device's Preloaded Application which is pre-installed app.

The following permissions are required for the app service. For optional permissions, the default functionality of the service is turned on, but not allowed.

I needed a voice recorder on the spot at work, & when I went to the Play Store, I noticed this one was already installed. I put my phone in the middle of the table and recorded 38 minute and 44 minute conversations. My screen times out after 10 minutes - didn't miss one second of either recording. I immediately plugged in to my office computer and transferred the files, and the sound quality is fantastic, including the voices coming over speaker on a conference call. A+.

Great app for recording. I use it when I'm messing around on my guitar and come up with a good riff. The sound is clear. Mostly reviewing because others are complaining about the 'locate nearby devices" / location permissions. It's probably for Bluetooth connections, like headphones, that you can listen to your recordings through . Regardless, your phone probably has a ton of apps that do that all the time anyway. Your phone itself is a beacon. If "they" want to find you they already have.

The app itself is well designed, nice features, easy to use. But where the app falls very short is when I want to use the recordings outside of the app. The app records in .m4a format and when I try to import them into any audio editor I either get an error or it just won't even do it. In the app, everything is fine, but even playing back the file, half of the audio is missing. This is a problem I cannot have in my workflow.

I used stereo and interview mode combined and audio quality was horrible. The volume kept going from soft to loud and back and forth. It sounded garbally and underwater. Galaxy Note 10 plus. It also has an annoying pop up when the sound that records is too low. So, you see an annoying pop-up every time there is a pause in whoever is speaking. That's why this is a definitive 1 star app. The one thing it needs to do it, does very poorly and very annoyingly. The UI and graphics are great.

It records well, and is very easy to edit. It doesn't get 5 stars because it's also very easy to accidentally overwrite files when editing. There's no undo arrow, warning pop-up, or copy in the trash. I've been using it weekly for over a year. I direct a music ministry. I'll record whole services, and then pull the songs out to evaluate our sound. I just replaced a 2 1/2 hour prayer group with a 3 minute song for the 3rd time in a year. It's user error, but there should be a fix.

You removed the "uncategorized" category! Now you have your list of categories and an "all" category (which is a good addition) but I cant tell which recordings i havent categorized so thats why its so important :( This is my go to voice note recording app. It launches and records quickly, gets the job done and has cool editing features while keeping it simple. Please bring back the uncategorized category in the next update. Everything else is good! 👍

I love this app, I use it to record music and it does great whether its acoustic, electric, bass, drums, ect. It even picks up well at live music shows. My only quirk with it is in the list mode I like to hit play without seeing the soundwave because its easier to skip through. But the small round play button makes this hit and miss. It would be nice if the button was squared off so I don't accidentally click into the soundwave playback.

Adequate app. Except for picking up wind noise, it is a decent recorder. Surprised it picked up my guitar in track. If you want to do more than record and play it back on your phone, such as podcasts and YT, then it gets difficult. Editing and splicing capability and the voice to text feature are far too inadequate to list as benefits. Sharing recordings runs into issues when using the google drive/gmail option. The recording automatically downloads when clicked on. No saving it elsewhere.

I have an issue with this app. I rely on it to record lectures that I'll need to relisten to, and on multiple occasions longer audio clips (40+ minutes) have failed to save afterwards. Last week, when trying to save a long clip, the app froze and the clip was permanently deleted. Please fix this issue. Normally this app is helpful and it's easy to share clips. Audio recording isn't very loud though.

I have been a court reporter for 40 years I tried out this app today and found it worked great. The only problem is if you could change it so that there is no time limit for the speech recognition portion and let it run until it is manually shut off, with the ability to play back the sound by placing the cursor on the speech recognition location then this would be perfect for what court reporters do and I can think of multiple uses for it. it would worker better if it had an external mic option

Simple, easy voice recorder that captures clean audio and offers a few useful toggles. It's very basic, but that makes it incredibly convenient for voice memos. The text-to-speech feature works alright. It gets a few things wrong here and there, but it's surprisingly accurate most of the time. As a musician, I do wish it offered multi-track functionality. Even a basic 4-track setup with a rudimentary mixer would be really great for recording song ideas, testing harmonies, etc.

Kind of annoyed by how files are named... If I record a file named Voice 100, then the app automatically suggests Voice 101 next time. But if I name it say, Voice 100 (lecture 3), for example, then next time around it suggests Voice 100 again. In the past the app automatically incremented the numbering no matter what and I wish there was an option to bring that back.

I'v had this app forever. This is my 3rd phone and I was able to transfer everything over with smart switch. It gets 3 stars due to an abundance of ads. Also when I looked into my recordings I noticed every single phone call had been recorded. As everyone else is saying you can't send these recordings not in messages, emails, files nada. It used to be great but now you have to pay if you want to still be unable to send,be spied on and be recorded without consent or knowledge. Pretty f'n creepy

This was a great tool until they updated and lost a lot of critical functionality such as bookmarks. The bookmark still exist but the comments that go with them are gone. I went through great effort to reinstall an older version but somehow Samsung still forced it to be updated again rendering all my recordings useless for my purposes. As a result I had no choice but to keep my old phone and not traded in or sell it because it's the only way to access the older version that actual works.

This app was fabulous with its unique transcription version. Standard. Interview. Transcript. With the last update, the best feature is gone. I don't understand why one would want to eliminate a great feature of the app. After the latest update, it has eliminated the transcription part. There is no memo. There is only standard !!! I'm aghast.

This used to be one of my favorite apps. Since getting this new version on my new phone, I will replace it. It's unreliable. I couldn't hear my previous recordings. Desperately tapping everything, it came back when I changed the speed. Editing a recording keeps multiple versions instead allowing to save an updated version like the earlier app did. I can't scrub to the place I want to hear most times. It often goes back to the beginning. More gripes than 500 characters will allow.

I swear by this app. It has been very helpful for recording vocal references during song lyric conceptualization. I just started using the the speech-to-text feature. I only wish you could edit incorrect transcript. Other than that I love it. I've been using it for many years and will continue... that is until someone comes up with a multi tracking version of voice recorder, similar to this. 😏 I'm just saying...

Absolutely LOVE this Samsung Voice Recorder app! It has so many great features you can use, as well as different options for recording in different situations. I love that I can record something, pause it, go back a little, and rerecord if I've made a mistake. Also after saving it, I'm still able to edit the recording if I need to redo something. This has been working so well for my current project! Very happy with it! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is my favorite app for dictation. The sound quality is good, and the convert-to-text feature is better than other dictation software I've used. With the new update, the summary option, quick transcription, ability to create a Samsung note with both the transcription and recording are great. HOWEVER, you took away the ability to simply copy the text! PLEASE bring it back and take away the new extra steps needed to do what worked for years. That will bring back the fifth star.

I use this app for music recordings-NOT for speeches. This was a fantastic app until this update. Now they've forced AI transcribing functionality I will never use that blocks all the recording functionality I need! Not able to remove or turn it off. Bookmarks were easy to set and label as needed. Now you can add but not label. To label you have to go into edit but you still can't see the label in your recordings unless you're in editing mode! If it ain't broke, break it Samsung!! 😡
