Pros: Was able to restore all my files, settings, and most of my app data. Cons: Requires you to allow the connection on your old phone, which is difficult to do when your old phone is busted. And if you don't allow the connection fast enough, it will give you an error and make you start over. Some of my app data was still missing. I used the wireless option as I could not get the USB option to work at all.

It's alright. It's insane it no longer works on tablets or at least my tablet. Samsung is constantly trying to sell new features but doesn't commit to existing services. Why commit if they don't (360)? If a new device has settings a previous one does not then settings would be overlooked. While copying everything from one device to the next on a personal file is great, you still need to go through all settings to get each individual device the way you want it. App data doesn't back up either.

Pretty good, but lacks a critical feature. I had no problem connecting via cable, and it was easy enough to transfer contacts, call history, and messages. I was able to pretty much duplicate my old phone, and that is where my major criticism comes. I want to transfer a few of my apps to the new phone, not all of them. If there is an option, it isn't very obvious. My new phone has enough bloatware, I don't want to bog it down with all my old seldom used apps too.

Amazing service!! All of my apps were installed, and the settings of each individual app were identical to my other phone! While Google was restoring my apps/contacts on Note 10, I discovered an app I'd bought years ago was no longer available in the Play Store. I searched for a compatible app while Smart Switch was running but didn't see one. Once Smart Switch finished, the app was installed on my Note 10!! I was even more thrilled when I opened it and saw everything had already been set up!!

Using this app was probably the easiest phone transfer I've ever done in years. I went from a Note 4 to a Note 9. Loved the fact that I was able to do it on my own from home without having to wait in the store for a tech to do it. Works best and faster when on WiFi. Process may take some time to complete depending on how much data you have to transfer.

I've never had a problem and I've used it every year since the S6. I now have 3 Samsungs and none of which have had issues with the app either. There's also no bloatwear so idk what they're talking about. This is one of, if not the most efficient transfer apps actually on Android, and obviously iPhone. If you're having issues with it, I suggest going to your carrier to do the transfer. They are trained and well versed on Smart Switch.

I just got the S6 today and transferred all my data from my Galaxy Avant within an hour and a half! Some apps didn't make it but I don't mind downloading them manually. Regardless, I have all my contacts, music, photos and messages!! UPDATE: I've since had the S7 and I currently have the S10e; the latest version is now able to transfer apps, they just start downloading on their own and it took less time!!

Samsung Switch is awesome! I've had a new Samsung for a while but have had a deep fear of the change. Had so much on my old phone that I didn't want to lose. Finally decided to bite the bullet after reading about this app, although I was very skeptical. Oh my!! I used the WiFi option. It did take a little over an hour but when I opened the new phone....IT LOOKED JUST LIKE THE OLD ONE!! All my apps, pics, games; etc...were not only there but in the same place. Just awesome!!

Doesn't migrate 'Pictures' folder on Galaxy Phones. This is a standard Android folder. And many apps by default place pictures in this folder. I have about 10GB of pictures/videos in this folder and subfolders. But no matter how many times I try to use this app to transfer them, they won't copy. I've made sure the folder isn't hidden. Pretty huge oversight.

Great app, one of my fav Samsung features. Makes it super easy to create a full backup of your device to a PC or MicroSD card, including apps, app data, app settings, phone settings, home screen options etc etc. They even added the option to backup the contents of your secure folder if you like since your backup is encrypted. I'm kind of sad Samsung seems to be getting rid of MicroSD cards on their flagships. It's perfect for stuff like this, but you can always backup to PC.

Recently used to move to a new Note 20 ultra. Did it work? Yes, 95%. What didn't transfer? Accounts. Without inserting a Sim, accounts will fail to transfer every time, even with a strong Wi-Fi connection. After inserting a card and transferring at least one account, everything works. It's a little bad for a new device experience, but it does flash a very short warning that this will happen

It does help, but the ads are annoying AND misleading. Some look like part of the app, and someone lacking my keen technical acuity ;) could get confused and screw things up. Ads make it quite cumbersome. Cabled transfer did not work at all. The app is essential, and does work well, but it doesn't have to be this difficult.

The App, is as useless, as a Comb is to a Baldmans Head. It only works if you have a higher Android Phone UI, depending on your Model Type; otherwise, it won't work with a much older Cell Phone, with a less UI, let alone, if you don't have wireless, because it does NOT transfer data. Better, to Screenshot or USB, from another source all of your important Passwords, from your Apps, Contacts, etc., to your Phone manually; itwould probably less risk of bringing unnecessary junk to your new Phone.

This is the 2nd time I've used this to migrate to a newer phone. First time no issues and it worked well. This time there are some issues (note 8 to Note 20 Ultra) I wanted to use a cable as I don't have a secure wifi at work. The app won't start sending data via the cable, so get home on a secure wifi and it still won't start data transfer. Best guess at this point is that what the app wants is internet access vs just a wifi which is disappointing as I use my phone for my limited internet use

I have used this app twice before without a hitch. With this one I have spent over 24 hours just trying to update the app on the new phone with no success and can't get passed it in the setup. Gone back and started from beginning several times, new phone (same as one Im replacing) will not let me bypass this step. The more technology they put on these phones and the more they "improve" the technology already on them the more problems you have and the less you can use the phone for anything.

Seems to copy almost all apps and data. CAUTION- Turn WiFi to DHCP on the old phone because it over-writes your WiFi settings on the new phone then disconnects for IP conflict if it's set to static IP. When using a USB-C data cable with a lot of data be sure to have a wireless charger set up! When transferring files is interrupted it doesn't pick up where it was interrupted so you could end up with a lot of duplicate or triplicate files. Sure beats doing it all manually though!!

This is an awesome little app..!!! I wish they had this for all of my previous upgrade phones. It made moving everything from my old phone to my new phone SO MUCH EASIER 😀! Seriously, it is perfect for everyone - especially those with little - to no - experience with technology. Also works well as backup software, with 2 - step verification built into the process for security. A good app 👍

I don't get all the negative reviews. I used it to transfer data from my old Galaxy phone to the new one and It worked like a charm for me. It did take some time to transfer data but it wasn't more than an hour. I was also transfer pretty heavy size of data. All of my files, device settings and even the app data was transferred without much hassle. Totally loved it!

Could not get my data to transfer from a z-Fold 3 to a pixel 7 pro. App kept crashing on the fold no matter what I did. Wouldn't work over wifi or cable. It has always worked on previous devices with minor hiccups. But disappointed I couldn't get it done this time since I have a ton of data that needs to be transferred. Not sure if this is due to having over 250GB of data or not

I purchased a new Samsung device for the holidays. My previous tablet had zero problems transferring my data. Unfortunately, that is NOT the case this time. I follow all the prompts, but for some reason, the wireless transfer gets to 5.4% before saying the connection is lost. I have tried numerous times with no success. HOW does the connection keep getting dropped when the devices are literally right next to each other?! Samsung has been losing cool points lately!
