Initially it was difficult to pick up but after reading the tips section the game became clear. Now the problem is putting it down!

This game is part of A very love or hate it series known as SaGa, one of the main gripes is how radically different each one is. However if are one of those who dont mind change or simply like jrpg that is easy to get into this not a bad place to start.

Does not work on Samsung S23 FE. Losds to Square Enix splash screen, Saga Frontier Splash, freezes. Uninstall. Reinstall. Same result. Requested refund. No refund from google play store. Avoid this like the plague. Edit: Contacted Sq Enix support and we're able to resolve the issue. Changed rating to 4 stars.

The previews made it look good, but the actual gameplay had me bored. $29.99 for a mobile game is way overpriced, especially considering the console versions have much better graphics, sound and textures than the mobile versions, and those cost the same price. I don't know why Square Enix likes to charge an average of $20 for all their apps but until this game comes down to about $10 (which will never happen with Square Enix) I won't give it another try.

Design of character & menu blocking everything in battles is not appealing. To get upgrading resources you gotta do battle situational rewards, taking away freedom from each battle unless u wanna grind. New characters feel useless as the earliest will have learned most skills beforehand.

My start with this series was with SaGa Frontier and Unlimited SaGa. Not being too happy with those, I gave it one more try...and I'm now a convert! This lives up to all the promise Unlimited had, and much more. No joke, this game actually inspired me to buy 2,3 and the new Game Boy emulated collection of the original trilogy SE sells here in the Playstore. Now the series is up there with my other favorite SE series Dragonquest.

Edit: Please add in the intro video! Kinda important to the plot! Beautifully done JRPG that throws all familiarity out the window. Great so far, I would just love to see controller support and widescreen support down the road, especially for the high price

Purchased, went to install and it timed out. Tried to install again and now my devices show greyed out and I can't select one despite it saying my devices are compatible. Also, this doesn't show up in the store normally. I can only get here from the Square Enix site. Edit: I have managed to get the install to go through on one of my devices. Not my preferred device, but I'll take what I can get. I will update my review once I've played a bit.

This game is like coconut water, a definite acquired taste but once it hooks you it becomes an addictive, strategic and all round awesome experience. I was adverse to liking it at the start but after teaching myself the various mechanics this game provides I've found myself wanting to finish all 4 plot lines! Highly recommend to JRPG fans looking for a perfect console quality mobile game.

A role-playing adventure, with novel style storytelling. Battle play very tactical, not easy, but rewarding. Action animation are so Wow! 🤠. Control is fine, text may need be larger. Two things: if only spell caster not a separated role.. and no spiritual fighter in my retinue..? 🧚

Basically crashes all the time on S24 Ultra. I have successfully started playing a month or two ago and in the meantime I've tried starting it a few times, but was not able to get to the gameplay.

This game is an acquired taste. Once you came out of it's learning curve, you'll find that this game; much like The Last Remnant; is one of the best turn-based tactical RPG. Such depth in character building! And it's in-game tips and information is definitely useful, you don't need any kind of external FAQs or guide, it's all in here. It's battle oriented, so if that kind of game is your cup of tea, I suggest giving this one a try.

I'm so happy I bought the game. Playing a real game and discovering saga through scarlet grace was a good decision. Nice stories, beautiful musics and voice acting, tough difficulty, nice graphics with 60fps...and it's a real game not some gacha or mmo. Glad this is accessible to french players. Hoping for an update with a french translation though it doesn't bother me too much to play it in English .

This has a lot of the same positives that I found in the original SaGa Gameboy games, which are the only others in the series I played a lot of. A lot of focus on combat, less on town interaction. More variety in combat would be good since it is the focus of the game, and for once I find myself wanting more encounters rather than fewer. Otherwise, a great pick-up-and-play RPG.

I have trouble putting this game down. Easily have put in 80 hours and still loving every minute of it. Very battle-centric, decent storyline, great localization. Build your team however you want, go almost anywhere you want when you want. And...it's a SaGa game, with all of its quirks and uniqueness rolled into one package. The price was difficult to swallow at first, but it's obvious this was a console game. Highly recommended.

With four unique stories and branching decisions, this game has good replay value. There's a heavy focus on combat, which is normally a red flag for a JRPG, but this one really pulls it off. The combat system is creative, challenging, and scales well to your level.

A game so good that I've purchased it three times in three separate consoles. While it's handheld origins does hold it back somewhat (mostly in regards to budget and content variety), it has hands down one of the best combat systems seen in either western or eastern RPGs. It also comes with the banging OST that you no doubt have come to expect from SaGa.

Great game to play on the go. The focus is on the battle system. There is a lot of depth to the system as the difficulty ramps up later on. Also, you dont have to travel through dungeons or towns which works nice for a mobile game. If you just care about battling and building your party you will enjoy the game. Great soundtrack is a plus. You will need connection to start the game but can lose connection while playing without the app closing.

Great game. Very unique to RPG enthusiasts, but if an incredibly rich battle system and great quests, with open decision making and party building sounds good to you, you need this game. The presentation is off putting to some, but if you treat the overworld as a big dungeon it begins to make more sense. Performance on my Note 9 is legit, no hiccups, fast loading times, etc. Huuuge recommendation from me!

Doesn't work on new phone fold 6. Won't load past "saga project". Used to work on s20 and is fun but don't buy if you have new phone Update: change from 1 star to 5, game is working again as of 1/28/25! This is a very unique game, everything is condensed to fighting battle, which is strategic and fun, probable the best battle mechanic! Music is great and character design/ story are fine. Only thing I dislike is the art style... but everything else is so good, this deserve 5 stars
