Recent update corrected the problem with the Safeway app that prevented Android users from linking a payment method. This app now works well. ***** Can't launch page to enter payment method. No access to program from desktop. Pretty much useless except maybe for gas prices.

Tried to use the app today. Got the message: "Please upate [sic] your app. Current version is depricated [sic]". 2 out of 8 words misspelled is a bad sign! Why didn't the app auto-update like all other apps? So I uninstalled, and then installed the version now on the Play Store (2.3.1). Ran it, and got the SAME ERROR! "depricated". So now the app is completely unusable! Whoever does the work on this app is doing a TERRIBLE job and needs to be replaced. Come on Safeway, you can do better!

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS APP! Google won't let me rate this any lower than 1. Pathetic programming. I certainly will not trust it with my credit card or bank info. You can't attach Rewards from another account, so what's the point. Links are broken. Features don't work. As for the app mention GPay, but the app doesn't support it. A corporation with the resources of Albertsons/Safeway should be able to produce a reasonable piece of software, and this is not even reasonable, much less high quality.

Junk! Wish it had less than 1! Complete pain in the rear! It has only worked once since I installed it. When it's updated, you have to sign in again. It wants to send a verification code. You have to go to email, get the code and go back. It starts all over again. I am now uninstalling the junk app!!!

Mostly unusable, When at the pump it does not select the pump number you are at even with Bluetooth turned on. When one tries to select the pump manually by swiping left or right to select the pump number, the button at the bottom to proceed stays greyed out so it is impossible to use to pay. Not sure how it is suppose to work to manually select the pump sometimes I do something that makes the button activate but only for a split second. Also, as some others have reported debit cards entered as payment are given the credit price not the cash price. UPDATE: Tried again today to pay with this app, however now before I even got to the other issue above, it is telling me that the station has disabled direct pay. Since it seems this is the only payment method (debit cards get the credit price) that gets the cash price, I am unable to get the cash price which is normally 10¢ less. Not getting the cash price to get a smaller discount doesn't make sense. I have decided to uninstall the app for this reason.

Its an amazing idea, and I imagine it would an amazing app if I could actually add a payment method. I have been trying to add a payment method for at least 6 weeks now and each time I get stuck on a loading screen. I hoped that after the latest update the app would work, but no luck there.

Doesn't work at all on my S21, like at all. Constantly shuts down, laggy, the phone keeps saying it has a serious bug, and don't use it until the bug is fixed. I like the idea of it, but the execution is horrible. Safeway/ Albertsons can do better.

Good ideas with subpar implementation. - Nowhere does it tell you there's a 3 card max - When using the "fill" option, the app thinks I selected $0 and says it can't be zero. I have to repeatedly select the "fill" option for it to work - After selecting the pump, fill amount, card I want to use, 9x out of 10 the app says my card's invalid. Repeatedly letting it do test $200 transactions doesn't yield any results so I can't even use the app - App FAQ is broken. Clicking anything doesn't work

Updated. It was working for a while, now it's back to broken! This app is worthless. For three weeks now the "backend" as the error calls it has not been working. The first time this happened, I called support, and two weeks later I got confirmation that it was working again. I'm not sure why they even keep this app up and operating, if it's not going to work over and over again. The few times that it does work, it's a huge time-saver, so I keep trying. I hope they get this fixed!

This is anything but "One Touch" , when preset as Fill-Up, the pump authorization fails, or never activates the pump. Then when applying Safeway rewards discount to a fixed amount, the fuel discount is severely impaired due to $50 limit. This glitchy app does not save any time or money.

This is ridiculous. It's so bad. Stays on authorizing forever. Even after my bank notified me of a $1 charge which means it was authorized. Then the pump which never cleared from the last transaction and said ready to fuel suddenly says transaction canceled. I know how to use a gas pump. It's the app. Tried again. And again. And again. Does not work. Also, doesn't connect to your bank for direct pay. Fix this or remove it from Safeways website.

I downloaded this app 1 week ago. When I decided to use it at a safeway fuel station today, it kept configuring and did not open completely. It only opened until I left, five miles away. It doesn't even have a feature to let you enter your receipt manually. I thought this app was not compatible with my Samsung but after reviewing all of the negative comments, it's just an underdeveloped/subpar app!

Not quite ready for prime time. I was able to login to my Safeway account although it was unclear that I had successfully done so. Location services quickly found all of the nearby Safeway gas stations. However, when I attempted to load in a credit card for payment, the app hangs up evrrytime I try to save the credit card info. Bummer, I hope this gets worked out.

I have had this app for a couple of years. It always has issues. It will crash upon open. It doesn't matter if you clear cache and data or uninstall the app and reinstall it or restart your phone. It's not what is allowed that I can determine. It does this about every six months and lasts for anywhere from 1 to 2 months. I have the Pixel 6 pro.

Can't enter payment method so the app is a bad joke. The excuse given by the app is always the same: "We are having trouble connecting with our system. Please try again later." Once again, it would appear that script kiddie incompetence has struck again. If you can't enter a payment method then the app is totally useless. Treating debit cards as credit cards also wipes out the additional 10 cents a gallon savings you would normally get.

Edit to add: App is no longer usable as it crashes all the time. It also would be nice if it kept payment information instead of re-entering it after an update. I would like to have the fuel prices displayed by default and if I move the map, locations update for the new area. I would also like "favorite" or "frequent" locations that would have the price displayed. I do like the function of the app automatically selecting the location I'm at when I pull up to the pump.

I downloaded this app today without reading reviews. I was able to easily add my card, which seems to be an issue for other users. So, I pulled in and selected the pump I wanted to use. It never went beyond authorizing. I waited about 5 minutes before canceling the transaction. Since nobody was waiting behind me, I tried it again. Same results. Not a good experience. I'll try it again at my next fill up and if it doesn't work, I'm uninstalling.
