Read a lot of bad reviews about this app, after having already purchased the scale (which had good ratings), so I got a little worried, but I've had the scale and app for several weeks now and it works 100% great, no issues. Syncs fine, no issues about constantly trying to find location, etc. I am completely satisfied with both the app and the scale.

The scale seems fine. I like how it syncs automatically with my phone and I don't have to record my weight ins. However, weight recordings are all the same distance apart so if you've weighed yourself one day apart or weeks apart, it's the same distance on the graph which doesn't give an accurate appearance of the data. Also, the other measurements seem to be linked to my weight and don't change independently. There's no way my body composition stays exactly the same every day. Esp. with water.

This app and the scale are great. Without the app, you can't see all the data from the scale. I love that I'm able to set goals and track my progress. The weight ranges they had before were a little discouraging; they were way too low. I just opened the app today, and they've fixed the ranges, so I'm now completely happy with the app.

Update: I decided to give it one more try before I got a new scale and it worked perfectly the first few times and I was ready to give it 5 stars. But suddenly it has a new problem. The app and scale are connected, but the (same) numbers on both keep changing like crazy until the scale goes dark and nothing registers on the app. Honestly, I don't know if it's the scale or app but it's not giving an accurate measurement, it jumps around so much. Changing the batteries didn't help.

100% Trash. Regardless of any attempted settings, and even clearing other bluetooth devices from my phone (what a pain!) this app is unable to communicated with the Renpho scale I purchased for just this reason. Clicking + NEVER shows the scale, no matter how long I stand on it, and if I just go to bluetooth, on the device, to pair, I can sometimes get it to show up, but it will not make any attempt to pair. I have a 1 year old phone with Android 7. It's more than compatible. It's a cute little high-permissions electronic paperweight, but nothing more. Will be returning the useless scale, as well, because of this app.

The scale worked at first. it was a little hit or miss getting connecting the app and scale, but now they won't connect at all. I've followed the troubleshooting advice to delete the scale then re-pair it on the app and that worked at first, but not any more. Now it's basically a regular scale that I have to manually input my weight into the app, so I no longer get the information that I was the reason for getting the scale. Very disappointed!

This scale and application was quite instrumental in my recent 60 lb. loss. I have found it to be quite accurate on weight and the additional biometrics are an added bonus. The app can be improved, especially on downloads of data but once you get used to its nuances, you can get the information you want imported into tracking spreadsheets, etc. I would not be where I am now in terms of weight loss without this product and app.

Edit: not sure if an update fixed the issue or if it was some other reason, but I was recently able to reconnect with the device. Longtime user of the scale and app and in the past it just worked. However, after a recent update the app stopped communicating with the scale and they want me to download their Health app. No thanks. The scale's bluetooth still works as I can see and communicate with it using bluetooth diagnostic tools. Guess it's time to switch to a different brand.

Updated review: emailing was no help. I found out that if you have: 1) Bluetooth ON and 2) Location services OFF, the app tells you to turn your Location on every five seconds. Every. Five. Seconds. No matter if you're weighing yourself or not. But if you have both Location and Bluetooth off, everything works fine. Three stars because the app works, but it's annoying. I'm probably going to spend more money to get another scale.

They now suddenly need to access your phone location to be able to pair with your renpho device. I've had my weight scale for a while now. In the past, to pair it with the app, you only need Bluetooth connection. Now, they want bluetooth and gps permission to know your location in order to pair up. Accessing your location serves no benefit at all besides them wanting to track you down. It's very abusive and definitely interferes with your privacy. Very disappointed I had to write this.

Firewall shows app attempting to silently call home over & over again in the background. I do not appreciate that @ all! Stop burning my data! The scale portion of the app is helpful & well designed. Not sure why it should be necessary to create an acct. I do not have desire to store data to the cloud etc. Couldn't you give me the option to choose? Overall, I like the app & it's useful. However, it asks for way more information than should be necessary to track my weight gain/loss.

The first display as you get off the scale is beautifully laid out and very easy to read. The trend page is confusing bc you have red to. Go to the measurements page to add as any info. Should be able to get there from the trends page too by clicking the items but at least you can get there. Still exploring around but I love having the information.

The app works great for keeping tabs of trends. Question though, why is location permission required for Bluetooth to work as the popup in the app states? Also why does the app check location many times a day if it's only required for Bluetooth? Doesn't seem right unless you can explain it to us. I have many things that transmission data without location having to be turned on.

Ok but could be better. The connection to Bluetooth is great but I need to be able to delete individual entries in case of mistakes. The charts need help too. The week trend should not show values from the same date two years ago. Get the scale for the hands free data gathering...just send your data elsewhere (Google Fit) and use those charts instead

Update to 5 stars: I wrote to the company and while they responded promptly, the comprehensive info they replied with didn't help. I had put my scale away for the last 2 months, and when I tried it today, it worked! I gained 13 pounds with not using it, so I'm v very happy to have all the features available again!!! I have loved this scale for a year now. I updated my Android phone to Pie last night, and now the app won't sync with the phone. Please update!

Just got my scale, very easy set up. I'm motivated by personal stats and numbers to do better so this will be great for me. My only issue is clicking on the stat for more info will only tell you what it means. I think it'd be really helpful as a tool if it told you how a high or low number impacts your health and what you can change to trend towards a better number. I apparently have low body water and skeletal muscle and i have no idea what that means or what to do with that information.

[update: some of this appears to have been fixed.] You can enter old dates/weights, but a) it will not show you progress since that weight, only from the time you started using the scale (not selectable in comparison picker), and b) it sends them to Google fit as current date, messaging up those stats. Really frustrating to see only random partial progress every day in the app just because you purchased scale mid-loss. Devalues entire product for me.

This app works with its scale. However, it gets 2 stars taken off for software issues. Specifically, the all important graph of the data is completely static -- you can't zoom in, zoom out, or adjust the graph in any way other than by dates. If you weigh every day, your graphs are practically useless and you'd need to export to Excel to actually use the data.

UPDATE: After verifying that my settings were not changed, I re-paired the bluetooth and stepped on the scale. All of the stats on trends returned to the previous readings. My rating would have been much higher, but after the last update (3.16.0), all of my stats on trends went the opposite way even though I know that I have lost weight. I want to see positive changes when I lose, not negative. Very disappointed. I will gladly change my review once the app is fixed.

Had this app/one of their scales for years and for some reason the bluetooth is paired but the data isn't coming into the app today no matter how many times I repair the scale and step on/off. I really didn't want to download their new app (this one is officially "outdated" now) because they have useless menu tabs like "Store" in the new app but I guess there's no other option.
