Terrible. I was trying to "explore" the app without all the ads during my free trial and apparently hit the worst button possible because now there's a dumb box taking up the bottom half of my tv screen that refuses to go away. I've restarted my firestick, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, unplugged everything at the same time, and NOTHING has fixed it. Nothing. It's annoying. P.S. This is NOT about the million ads every 5 clicks. It's a free trial with NO ads. This is something else.

Trust me on this: just get a Roku. The app is pretty much unusable and riddled with ads. The channel selection is clunky, unintuitive, confusing to navigate, and filled with ads. It takes almost ten steps to open Netflix, which is deliberate because ads. Roku is MUCH faster and simpler to navigate, and also, no ads that make the app all but unusable. I will not be wasting my money on a Fire TV again, and a good chunk of it is the remote app.

I have never been more frustrated by an app. First of all, It plays ads every few clicks which is beyond annoying. I wanted a basic remote app and I felt like I was watching commercials on my phone just to skip commercials on my TV. Horrible. Second, it lags. Terribly. Third, it sometimes connects to your device and sometimes doesn't.

Difficult to set up if your current remote doesn't work. App doesn't automatically connect to the firestick when you launch the app (even after you pair it the first time)First, there's a full-screen pop-up and then the screen for the remote, but you press a button (on the remote) and then the app switches to the "connect" screen, and after it connects, you can finally use the remote. If you pause a show for too long and your TV goes to "sleep" mode, you hafta start all this from the beginning.

Horrible app. Every 3 to 4 clicks on the remote sends you to a series (at least 2) advertisements. Not worth it. They want $20 to go ad-free. Update: Thank you for your response. The problem is that it is way too frequent. Just to watch a show, i have wait through at least three 2 to 3 minute pauses. So the end result is I dumped the app after the second attempt - that can't be good for business. You'll need to balance how many ads people are willing to tolerate with financial needs.

Will not connect to my Toshiba Fire TV. I downloaded the app, paid for it, losing the free trial. I do have my old remote, I was able to go into the settings & enabled the debugging thing, just as the instructions said to do. Also, powered off my tv&phone, hoping they would update & connect. But NO the 'connect' screen just kept coming back. I went through process 4x.. Still couldn't connect. Only positive is, I did not have a hard time finding where to cancel thankfully. 🤞I'm not charged!

I can understand pay/subscribe to the app. But frequent ads, influence me to uninstall the app. Didn't get a chance to see if I fully liked it/not. Therefore, all I can honestly say is, it installed and connected with no issues. But made me wonder, why purchase/use this app if u still need tha original remote to turn the ADB setting on, in order for the app to be useful. And that was the second reason I uninstalled it, because I might as well just use the original free remote.

1 star is too much. When ads effect the functionality of an app, that is where I draw the line. You have to wait for a 30 second ad to play to change the channel. So your TV is just sitting there and you're at the mercy of constant ads. Just get the free Amazon app. They don't make you watch ads to use the remote on your phone.

The instructions are indecipherable. The app did not work and there was no way to understand what needed to happen. It seemed that one either needed a Fire TV or a remote for the Fire TV or Fire Stick. Mmy Fire Stick is older but there was no indication that the app would not work for it. I messed with it and my phone for a couple of hours before giving up.

You can't use this app unless you HAVE a remote so the app is pointless to use. I tried downloading and using because I can't find my remote and there's ADB settings that need to be changed within the fire stick settings which needs a remote. There's no button on my TV to press. It's a fire stick not smart TV. Consumers shouldn't be forced to upgrade every device. Ridiculous.

Very difficult to use and full of ads. The last think you want after going through the aggravation of losing your remote and paying 27 bucks for an annual subscription to the app is to be bombarded with ads every time you try to use it. I got my money back but it was so bad that I was ready to get a new firestick (same price btw) had I not found my remote.

Would be good if the free version if it didnt have long video ads pop up literally after every 2-3 clicks. Yea there is a free trial which is nice if you are just lazy and cant find your remote. I will say it was helpful for what I initally needed it for..wifi password got changed and I usually use the actual Amazon fire remote app (which often has connection issues) but they all need to be on same network..thus i was screwed so this helped me fix that at least. Ads w/ fake X out's are misleadin

This app is complete garbage. If it takes four to five clicks to navigate to anything in Fire TV and you have an ad popping up every other click, then what is the point of this app? It's impossible to navigate to any show or movie if you're constantly interrupted by adds. Also before you can even get started using this app, they're trying to trick you into subscribing to two membership services. This is truly the worst app I've ever seen or tried to use.

It simply did not work. I followed all of the instructions, turned adb debug on (it was already on, but I double checked), checked to make sure it was on the same network, restarted the fire stick, and never could get it to work other than for about 5 seconds and it stopped and didn't work again. I installed the Fire TV app instead and worked right away. No problems. I would definitely recommend that app over this, plus it doesn't have ads and doesn't try and get you to upgrade to "premium".

If I could give negative stars I would! I rarely take time to rate an app, but this one was so horribly frustrating. Within seconds of trying to scroll on the TV using the app, an AD pops up, and since my finger is using the app remote to scroll, my finger automatically hits the ad and opens a pop-up. I couldn't even open the 1 thing I was trying to open without 4 ads stopping me.

Edit: Iritating and money grubby. It looks like I now have more clicks until I hit an ad. Like I can manage to open Disney plus and scroll a few times. The app itself actually works really well and the added features sound cool. Just downgraded my rating again, free version can't FF RW NOW, SO LAME. Making this app a subscription is stupid. This is Amazon we are talking about here, they can aford you. The actual remote is 11$ and you are charging 25$, which is the cost of a whole new device.

Remote stopped working and used app until got it replaced. For the free option, every 10th click, an add pops up. Horrible experience when trying to manually input letters to watch something. To use more features, you have to pay to use now. What happened to this app? The adds should at least be timed when using or in the beginning, not while in the middle of using every 10th click. This app is very disappointing.

This app used to be so great, but adding commercials while im changing the channel is just the most stupidest thing I have ever experienced while using this app. If you want to make an app that helps people, don't make me wait 20 seconds to change the channel. It's supposed to work as remote, not a way to share unwanted adds. If there are no adds what's so ever, then this app deserves 5 stars, but sadly, there are 1 star for you.

Way too many ads. I understand ads give the app money, which allows it to stay free, but it took me 5 minutes to type a 6 letter name because every few taps triggered an ad. When pressing the button in the app to open the device's keyboard to type it quicker, a pop-up saying I have to pay the app for the feature occurred. I've had the app for maybe 10 minutes and am currently uninstalling.

This app used to just be a remote, but now you can't take more than a few clicks before ads pop up. Ads don't allow you to access the remote and take a few seconds before allowing you to exit the ad. Really easy to accidentally click the ad. It's unusable in my opinion... Why even offer this app as an option if the usability is so terrible?
