Be aware of their IG ads. They claim to offer a path to advanced or native proficiency in Spanish and then run you through a preliminary test to "check" your proficiency. This is not reflected when you open and start using the app. Overall its a fine looking app but Its all very basic and geared towards beginning spanish speakers. In order to cancel your subscription, you have to email them rather than just simply canceling in-app. They will refund you in certain cases too. Be advised!

Oh my gosh, do not try this app. The customer service person was very nice but the app does not do what it advertises. The quiz is a joke and draws you into believing that is a customizable learning tool. It is not. You have to start at a very early stage and as others have noted, it really is just flashcards with voice over. I appreciate the customer service folks but this app is worthless.

Complete scam of an app. Took me through an extensive questionnaire to supposedly give me a customized (advanced) plan, but started with the basics. No direct option to cancel, only to "contact them." Do not waste your time or money. Time will tell if I get my cancellation approved before I'm charged $20 after the first week.

Terrible - Do Not Use Promova! Promised individual program was not provided. They test your knowlwdge and then place you at the very beginning (I am advanced lerner). It looks like a scam, honestly. They advertised as interactive reading in a foreign language, but I it is not available. They ask you for all these additional fees, even I have paid for the premium level. Do not use.

As someone who's learning French, it's good for vocab, but not for retaining the information. You can't review after you've finished, you can't type out conversations or how they should go, you can't speak it. You have to just hope that you understand the multiple choice. But this doesn't set you up for speaking French or writing French in the real world. So, I'd have to say, it's really not too good for that.

Misleading. I paid for premium and thought I was getting a personalized plan based off my current abilities. Nothing personalized about it at all. I have spent 30 minutes in it so far and it's very basic vocabulary with no other types of lessons. Waste of $40. I've requested a refund because this app is useless to me. Would maybe recommend it for someone with no Spanish background to learn basic vocabulary.

Hey. I tried a trial period and found out I knew everything from there. It took me about one hour to look through everything they provided. I texted them about it and asked fory refund. They texted me back next day and said they cancelled my subscription. Thank you for it. This app is good for beginners. If you have zero experience in English it will probably help you to boost your vocabulary. if you are fluent but still want to grow.. this app is not for you!

They make a big deal about evaluating you for a customized experience, but it amounts to nothing worth the effort. Then they charge you $20 to be on ad infested platform. Take my money or serve ads, not both tyvm. Still waiting for my refund! Now they tell me I need to use the app until level 7 in order to get a refund. These guys are total scum, scan artists. Don't waste your money you will never get it back.. im stillll waiting

This app has a very cool marketing on Instagram that convinced me to try it. However, after logging in, the app itself is nothing more than a bunch of "fancy" flashcards. There is nothing wrong about it, but I cannot see the value, especially after being motivated by the Instagram ad that shows a completely different vibe and experience. I would take it for free or a very low fee, but it is definitely not worth the money.

Not for High Intermediate or Advanced Learners! I just asked for a refund. I think their advertisements are misleading. If all you want to do is learn new words, this is the app for you. If you are a beginner to low intermediate learner, this app might be useful. It seems well designed but there are more effective apps and platforms for learning.

I downloaded it after I saw an advertisement for advanced speaker features. After paying for a trial I was given a questionnaire to gauge my level. I'm an advanced speaker. My first lesson was the word apple. I couldn't believe it. There was no way to access the feature advertised. No direct way to cancel other than sending an email. Then they told me I would not get a refund unless I unlocked level 7. 🙄 only gave me a refund after I insisted it was deceptive.

It's terrible that even after I paid this subscription, I must watch the noisy ad (commercial videos over 30 seconds) in the app so many times, and it is unable to skip. It really intercepts my studying and learning. So, although I already paid the 1-year subscription membership fee, I can not use it. I don't want to be stressed about it more.

For non-native speakers it's even more difficult to cancel.. Thinking $1 was for the app and had no clue, $19.99 would continue to come out.... To be honest, this is the worst app purchase I've done I'm absolutely pissed. It's not even about the money it's just the principle or lack thereof. No one should endure a monthly subscription of something they were not even clear about whether it was a subscription service or not in the first place... unless clearly stated within the app the service and cost every buyer would feel cheated at some point. I want my $$$ back.

TERRIBLE - these guys very deceptively steal money from you. Automatic 'subscription' after trial period does not show up in your Google play subscriptions, and in their emails of course the link to upgrade to premium (though they've already gone ahead and signed you up anyway) works, but the link to cancel it does not. When you try to cancel within the app, of course it takes you to a bot messanger, rather than a simpler unsubscribe, that doesn't respond. thieves!!

Absolute scam. I took a free trial and realized the course consists of little more than fancy flashcards. I cancelled the subscription on the same day the free trial was set to expire and was still charged for an entire year at $72.02. I was not notified that I was charged and so did not realize until some weeks later. The company jerked me around as they tried to "verify" my purchase and is still refusing a refund. A really poor quality product with deceptive and unhelpful customer support.

Total scam and waste of money. I bought the premium version of this last year after getting heavy advertising on IG. The program doesn't even do what they ARE STILL advertising to me. It's nothing more than flash cards with very basic vocabulary. I was shocked when I finished the levels available only to find that it was the end of the program. The only update they've made is changing the name. I presume too many people caught onto this scam, so they needed a rebrand. I want my $40 back.

Opened app to be bombarded with subscription ads, close that and get hit with a special promo for their subscription. I haven't even used the product yet, give it at least a minute. After using it for a little, the content is fine. Although I disagree with the subscription price, it might be fine for someone learning a supported language. I was hoping to learn traditional Chinese and that's not (as of now) currently supported.

I've been learning and improving my English so much faster with this app. I tried other ones, but none of them provided such good education and ease of learning. Furthermore, even though I have started studying in a real English school recently, I just feel that with Promova, I can memorize much faster. It's impressive. I highly recommend it.

The advertising was misleading. I thought this application would help me practice my speaking skills, but it mostly focuses on spelling. This is not the reason I bought this application. The words they teach are also too simple. I don't feel like I'm learning anything new. I have learned a few languages and used many applications to help me practice, and this is the worst one so far. Waste of time and money🥲

Not worth subscription. I finished the ENTIRE German language course in 1 week. After more than a year, they have added no new content. At the rate I am going, I expect to finish the ENTIRE French course in 2 weeks. After more than a year of use, they have not added any new content nor added any new languages to learn. In the end, this is a pathetic app (Use Duolingo instead, it has more languages and more content updated regularly) that is just not worth the subscription.
