Please consider that we request you enable a permission to keep the app from being uninstalled. It's an extra security measure so the application cannot be removed without your authorization. You can uninstall the app from the login screen, deactivating said permission.
MUST READ:
▸ The app suggests you disable the “Delete permissions if not used” option to ensure continuous protection.
▸ The app requests Accessibility services when using the "Lock" feature. Accessibility is used to block the device, showing an "Access Denied" screen overlay.
▸ The Power Button Lock feature is only available on Android versions lower than 9. Android 9 and above include added restrictions that block this functionality.
▸ The app requires you grant access to Management of All Files in Android 12 or later. This permission allows for "File Retrieval" *Pro*, beyond images and videos.
▸ The app uses the Device Administrator permission. This allows the Remote Wipe and Lock feature's function *Pro*
▸ The App request access to location data in the background to enable the geotracking, and *Pro* geofencing, location history features even when the app is not in use. While most Android devices will automatically request all necessary permissions, some need additional ones to be granted manually. Thank you for creating this amazing app, it has been the most important app I must have in my phone. I noticed that on the latest version of android the power off block option is not available. will this be permanent or will you guys be able to get back that important feature cause my phone doesn't even have that option anymore....

I used to love this app and I have used it on every smartphone I have owned. My favourite feature is the Shield OFF Button because the first thing thieves do when they steal your phone is to turn it off so it cannot be tracked. But now that function does not work on my OnePlus 5 running Android 8.1.0. The function is enabled but I can still turn off the phone in a locked state. For this, I am keeping 3 stars and uninstalling the app from my phone.

Installed on phone without any issue. I tried to connect to the web page to see if it tracks my phone correctly and it asks for a 6 digit security code along with my password. No idea where to get these 6 digits. Next i tried to install the windows app on my pc and it keeps failing with a message "something went wrong" and no furthur details. So nope, for the moment this thing isn't working at all for me. If the developpers could give me a feedback, that would be great.

Had this app installed for years and didnt need it until today. Lost my phone on campus and was able to track it down using the GPS coordinates to a dorm room. Contacted campus police and they went in the building and had me set off the siren to find which room it was in. I don't think I would have gotten my phone back without this app. THANK YOU!!

Slightly Annoying What I would say is that it's a bit irritating how the app is so Apple centred, [eg. You cany choose which sound to ring]. So in other words if I could change one thing if would be to add more types or ringers when finding your device, for example just a basic ping, since you don't only use a phone tracker for theft; sometimes I just use it because I lost my phone somewhere in my house.

I had prey on my pc and it worked perfectly but it doesn't seem to work on my cellphone. When I installed the app my task manager stopped working, and I couldn't close the background apps. Today the app asked for the pin code every single time, but I couldn't type it. I checked the touchpad and the settings buttons, and they were working just fine. At the end I had to force the restart and uninstall the app.

Have been using the is app for some time but started coming up with a lock screen which could only be cleared though locking and unlocking the device through the windows interface. Ie. Would not accept the password on the phone. I removed and reinstalled the app but now it keeps coming up randomly with lock screen every few minutes. Now uninstalled.

update: stil happening. tested my phone set to missing and could hear all the sounds as it was taken cam pictures and screenshots..... now it's even worse. this would raise red flags to any potential thief. ------- When setting my phone as missing and the reports start coming in, prey mutes the phone's sounds while taking picture. But when prey resets the volume shortly after, the phone emits sound, like the one played when readjusting volume... Not very stealthy... Especially every few minutes.

Update 2022:the app blocks me out at random when the screen turns on. I try to login with my credentials but it keeps "logging in" indefinitely and I can't use my phone. The most infuriating thing is that if I hold my phone reboot button long enough, the phone reboots and then it's no longer "protected", which is exactly what this app should NOT do, but then it also shouldn't block you out of your own phone... Old:"The only missing feature is the possibility to hide the app from the app drawer"

Doesn't work properly on Redmi. I changed my phone, now Android version 10, and it is not working! When clicking on the app other app opens instead! This is crazy! Im trying to add the new phone to my list of devices on the prey site and this is impossible, I can't erase the app either. This is terrible! If your app doesn't work properly at least I should be able to erase it whenever I want .

I've downloaded this app to prevent any person trying to unlock my phone, and i thought it would take a photo of that person! But, i didn't find anything when i let my kid try to unlock the phone. The only good thing i found was battery draining 😩

The app seems great, but there are many problems. I downloaded it and made an account to try and find my phone that I lost. The device appears in the list of devices that I can add, but it is faded out and doesn't let me add it, saying that it's already added. I never added the device, and I really need to find it. A fix or some help would be greatly appreciated.

Long time Cerberus user. Read about Prey and tried it. Love the looks of it. Basic functions (free) are OK. Device wipe for $5/mo as an extra? Ridiculously expensive! Only 3 devices for $5? Should be 4-5 since one does not get any more features for paying! No biometric login? Fail! And finally: tracking settings can't be changed? I don't want this app collecting my location constantly! Only when needed! For $5/year I get all this and more from cerberus. Not as pretty but affordable. Deleted.

Works well, could use a more understandable UI. I was confused at first what device was currently being protected, but after guessing a little bit, I figured it out. Great App, it's saved me in the past, so I know it works well, when you have service, or make sure to maybe turn on your roaming.

Other reviews say it all. Completely broke the shutdown protection, which was a PITA & caused some serious concern when it made it take forever to boot back up, after I STILL managed to get it to shut down (though it took a while) even despite Prey trying to prevent it & then some. & now can't access settings since it's not accepting my PIN. All this on top of the fact it constantly crashes if it doesn't have network access, which makes me question just how reliable it could actually be.

Something was not working correctly. I was getting a 401 credential error, despite using the same credentials as on my other devices running iOS and Win 10. Tried to Uninstall and reinstall a few times, same problem. So went with Google find my phone instead and it is far superior in my opinion. Even took Prey off my iOS device after this because Apples built in tracker was also more accurate in a side by side test. I do still use it for my Windows laptop though, it works for that OS fine.

App used to work on older phones, but nowadays is useless, at least the free version, you can try to lock the phone but it's easily bypassed by closing the app or disabling fullscreen permissions, the feature that doesn't let you turn off the phone doesn't work either, what could be important such as deleting your files you have to pay for, honestly the only thing that works reliably is GPS tracking and making an alarm sound, or making a message show on notifications.

It's pretty good. I was able to add both my laptop and my phone, but the control zone feature doesn't seem to work very well on my phone. I can't create control zones using my phone, as entering the address doesn't change the location of the zone. The option to put the pin down (presumably on the menu with the zoom in/out buttons) is also cut off. Otherwise, a good app.

I installed the app at least a year ago, and it was working great. However, I realized today it hasn't tracked my phone in months. So, I wanted to logon and check, but I'm greeted with a file not found error and a stuck loading screen. Even uninstalling and reinstalling gives me the same issues. What a disappointment. As a result, this is getting 1-star from me and a permanent uninstall unless the problems are addressed.

Does what it says it will do! Really good app! Only wish it used a better map program like Google maps. And in the map view the screen showing you were the device is, is so large it covers most of the map itself. Also when the app is in "missing mode" the pictures it takes on a mobile device is FAR from silent. Can clearly here the shudder sound like a normal camera, and it happens so much it would be really difficult for someone to not notice.
