How does POINT work?
FOLLOW CAUSES & FIND NONPROFITS
There are 20 cause categories on POINT (think: poverty, education, homelessness, climate, etc.) and you can choose to follow any, or all, of them. Local volunteer opportunities related to the causes you pick will show up on your feed. You can also discover all the local nonprofits working for a specific cause by clicking into the icon.
VOLUNTEER AT EVENTS
Your volunteer feed is personalized based on the causes you pick, and you can filter by the times you’re free. Find an event you’re excited about? Simply tap "go” and show up. POINT will tell you all the information you need to know on the app, before you arrive.
MEET NEW PEOPLE
See who else is going to volunteer, so you know you won’t show up alone. You can meet new people from your community, or you can share the event with your squad (because hey, sometimes you need to shake things up).
Along with the POINT app, nonprofits and other organizations have access to the POINT dashboard, where they can post events and manage volunteers. More at https://pointapp.org/nonprofits/

I Couldn't even sign in it was saying "you have to be 14 to sign in" This is dumb, Any age should be able to sign up!!!

The mission of this app according to the website is to support women because they say that 75% of the nonprofit workforce is women. They also directly call out underfunding of nonprofits as gender inequality. I was looking for more of a gender neutral volunteering experience.

Kept showing me opportunities in Ohio even though the zip I entered was definitely in New York. Too bad because I'd love to start volunteering somewhere regularly.

This app is AMERICA ONLY. I'm a Canadian and I can't accurately fill out my profile because it won't let me enter a province or even let me fill out my postal code because Canadian ZIP codes have letters in them

This app helped me to meet amazing people and open a new world of opportunities on how to give back to my community. I like how there are always new features coming out and more events being posted as more organizations join!

Sign up, no opportunities. Unable to change location without adding a photo to profile which wouldn't launch. Uninstalled.

Not a user friendly application. It is difficult to navigate. Finding the Organization and inputting volunteer hours was a miserable experience. As a Volunteer the extra time to input my hours was a fiasco.

Installed app, signed up, only to find out no results in my city. While I appreciate how useful this app could be, it would be great to know if it would be useful in your city before signing up.

This app is so close to being a wonderful useful way to connect volunteers to charities. You guys need to make it possible to filter opportunities by time. Working volunteers need that. That's vital. Second, you can filter by day but the events list only the calendar number, which is less helpful. Honestly if they added a way to sort by time, I would give this app 5 stars, but since that is such an obvious shortcoming I couldn't give it more than 3.
