Buggy, messy and lacking basic functionality. Close a magazine and when you reopen it, you're back on page one. Remembering which page you are on is basic, basic stuff! Sometimes magazines download. Sometimes they don't. Sometimes they do, but with missing pages. And let's have some instructions! There is no information on how the navigation works. Swiping left sometimes switches between full and mobile views, other times it gives you a blank page.

Great selection of magazines and friendly pricing (so far). But usability / accessibility is below average at best. You have very little control over text style and size. Most magazines come as just pictures of the pages, you have to manually pan and zoom to fit text to your screen. Bookmarking and navigation is also pain in the a, especially if you want to save your progress in a long article.

Good sometimes, at other times downright frustrating. Many magazines are half downloaded for multiple pages yet it says it has fully downloaded. Can't re-download easily. Try to buy a new mag and it says 'Already purchased' despite not having bought it. Good aspects are instant, affordable prices but that's about it. Would much rather have an old school paper copy!

I've got an active subscription for a magazine and keep seeing "try for free and hundreds more" but nothing happens when I click on it. I hoped to get back issues of another similar magazine. I'm even fine paying for a back catalogue but I can't even do that as all that appears to do that is "Loading..." So all that you can do is buy single issues. You're able to go into settings to change how the pages appear on your screen (portrait, landscape, zoom, last page viewed etc) which is great.

EDIT: Review updated as issue fixed. Thanks very much to devs for listening and acting. The app is fine on a tablet with the print edition, and I would normally give 4-5 stars. However, I was hoping to read the MOBILE VERSION of a magazine OFFLINE on my phone and find that article IMAGES DON'T APPEAR to be available unless I've already opened specific pages while online, in which case they appear offline for just those pages. For the rest, the text is there, but not the images. This is the case even if I've downloaded the print edition. Am I doing something wrong? Your FAQ says the magazines should be available offline. For images for the mobile version, this does not appear to be correct.

I make room boxes and miniature furniture and other items to go inside them, so this app is perfect for me because I can find lots of specialist magazines on making miniatures. All the magazines provide a free sample copy which I can keep in my app library, along with the other magazines that I've bought. The magazines costs $11.99 each in Australian dollars, which is half what I would have to pay at a local newsagent shop.

Seems to work most of the time. All/visual interface seems a little dated and slow. Most annoying aspect is i can on some days pick the magazine up from the shop quicker than it actually appears uploaded to the app. Not acceptable... On the day of that magazines release it should be uploaded at midnight. Not having to keep refreshing the page every few hours to see if the magazine has finally been uploaded to the app. One week/month its there, the others it's not.

It does what it says it does. I have had problems, but they were fixed. Now if there's a problem I just uninstall and reinstall and it all works again. I guess most problems occur because it needs an update. I like that it keeps old magazines if I delete them so I can download again later. And you actually get to see the whole magazine, not just the words. I also like that there are no adverts and it doesn't keep trying to tell me what I should read next.

Dreadful app, I buy Classic Rock every month, suddenly it's stop showing pages. In some instances whole pages are missing, or it's only showing half the page. More frustratingly, you can't call anyone to sort out the issues. Customer service is non existent. I'm having to view the magazine online through the website. Wholly inadequate app.

I love the idea of reading my magazines digitally (saving paper etc). However I've endured using this app on my Amazon Fire tablet for a couple of years now. Successful downloading is very intermittent - hence the 3 star rating (averaged between 1& 5 stars) . Some months the new issue downloads absolutely fine first time, other months' issues take several attempts to download - receiving the never-ending 'circle of doom' awaiting to see it it will actually download, and some months no success at all (which randomly corrects for the next month's issue). Always download to the same device, using same wifi in the same room. This month to date I've have been unsuccessful in downloading my latest issue. So probably have to wait until next month's issue is released before I can read this one. I'm rapidly losing patience with this app, and am considering returning to a paper magazine. Alternatively, could we have the facility to download to a laptop as well as a tablet? Currently I can only read issues online using my laptop. Sept2021 - update: Now I am unable to download, open, or read any of my digital editions using this app. Star rating reduced from the 3-stars given previously to 1 star. Will the developers please fix the ongoing issues with incompatibility with Amazon Fire devices ASAP?

I'm thrilled with the features, clear images, easy navigation, and the many artists interviewed or reviewed that mean a lot to me. I love the mag's remit - it's great reading up on past decades, AND today's artists. My only slight gripe is, I don't recognise 1 or 2 on screen symbols, but it's still early days for me, and I'm sure it'll become 2nd nature soon. I've been short of time lately, not explored very much yet, but I'm glad to have subbed, definitely!

Compared to reading a physical copy this is a very poor experience. I can browse a real magazine by flipping through the pages to view all the articles but this app only shows a list of headlines accompanied by a 1/2" graphic. I have no idea what the articles are about and am not engaged to find out. Parts of articles are hidden behind white panels for no reason. I consulted the FAQ but the FAQ section does not work. The range of magazines is very limited, nowhere as good as the average newstand

An excellent way to get a huge range of magazines at low price and excellent quality without filling the house with paper! Pocketmags plus gives many free for its £9.99.

It's a great service to be able to read many magazines digitally in one place. HOWEVER, my app won't save bookmarks!! I have to delete and reinstall the app every time I want to bookmark a page, and then remember which issue so I can download it again because deleting the app makes it forget the issues you had downloaded. I can't tell if this is a bug or something but it's incredibly frustrating and really takes away from the enjoyment of the app

It would be even better if I could get it to change from UK to USA. The car msgazines are not relevent as they are all UK and the travel are not helpful either. I really like the assortment but would prefer if ads in the magazines were for my Country also. If anyone knows how to change it please let me know.

This is a wonderful application for reading magazines in one app. One reason that I really love this app is because you can access all or most of your magazines in one place. You can have seperate subacroptions with your favorite magazines or if you are unsure what you like and or do not want to read the same magazine subscription every month thier is a membership plan so you can access any magazine(s) you would like to read that month. It is very affordable also!

Great developer and great customer service experience! I usually read the print edition at home so I didn't install Pocketmags for probably 7 months into my 2 year subscription. When I did I didn't have any of the previous issues from the latest print+digital subscription. It started after I setup Pocketmags which I was very disappointed about. I called support and they had to involve another IT team but within about 48hrs they call me and everything is fixed. I highly recommend Pocketmags!
