dont understand why it's no longer possible to filter out 'coming soon' charging locations, can only toggle to see ONLY coming soon stations. why would i want that when looking for a charge NOW? and also have to go into multiple different menus to filter for different charger levels/free stations/networks that used to be all in the same filter menu. the service the app provides is indispensable to be sure, but seems UI has declined lately/is a work in progress.

PlugShare is the one indispensable EV charging app. No other app is designed to show ALL possible places to charge. Chargepoint app shows chargepoint stations, evgo shows evgo stations, etc. but plugshare shows them all, even available wall outlets. and you can use the filters to show only quickcharge stations or only free stations, etc. Google Maps shows some but misses many. You need all the info you can get, so pile in those apps. But if I was allowed only one, it would be PlugShare.

Great for finding charging stations and letting users post reviews. HOWEVER, the distance indicator on a charging station appears to be "as the crow flies," not "actual driving route." Nearly got stranded on the mountains because the app said a charging station was ten miles away, but when we switched over to Google maps for directions, we found it was 16 miles away. Fix that feature and I'll be happy to change this rating to a five star review.

For the most part, PlugShare is the best and quickest way to find a charging station on the fly. Although, I still prefer to check a station's app for availability, especially if it's those dorks at EA with only one CHAdeMO per location. PlugShare also let me do good research during the months that I waited for my new car. The filters work very well, and seeing upcoming locations has been quite useful. Kudos!

With no filters website shows twice the fast chargers than the app. I need the app to show all chargers. Performed uninstall reinstall with no diff. UPDATE: On my phone, Moto X Pure, zooming in did not show all the stations, not sure why. Settings were Chademo only & all providers. Just set a browser shortcut on homepage. Great info, appreciate the service!

It misses 3 locations near me where I know there is power. But it captures every restaurant, grocery, feed store, market, etc which fills up the map and that cannot be toggled off. I can't turn off the map blocking ad banner. I get that the developers need ads to support the app but dang move the ad banner somewhere else or charge me $2.99 to get rid of it. Deleting app. Onward in search of another one.

One of my favorite things about PlugShare is that it has a large variety of different charging plugs you can filter out to get the one's that you can use. Another neat feature is that it shows if any of the chargers are available if the person charging has reported so. One more convenience of PlugShare is that you can put any address into the search bar and it will show the location of that address. So you can see if there's any chargers on the way to your destination! What a great app!

Website works much better than app. On website, clicking a point opens description at bottom of page and you can scroll down, without disturbing the map. On app, clicking a point opens a bubble above point, clicking the bubble replaces the entire screen w details, and when you go back to map screen you can't get rid of the damn bubble so you can see nearby alternatives.

The best tool to have for any EV owner. I use PlugShare all the time when I travel or want to find different charging stations near by. It's always fun finding a new location to charge! I also like the fact that EV charging networks like Electrify America and Evgo will update you on broken stations. Make sure you adjust the settings to what you prefer. (Charging networks, connector type, and level of charging) Also, make sure to leave reviews and pictures! Thanks PlugShare! J

One of the better amalgamations of EV charger data. It's good at showing chargers in your area, and allows you to filter networks and charger types to your need. It even allows you to initiate charges on some obscue networks for you. Unfortunately it doesn't reliably show the number of chargers or whe chargers are in use, and doesn't show charging rates for all networks. Also, the "filter by charge rate" feature is silly, and does not offer meaningful resolution.

Great tool for EV owners. Would really help to be able to filter out all of the dealership chargers, as well as to be able to exclude 'negative star' locations I've been to and don't ever want to go back to (e.g., 'public access' stations that are mostly camped on by employees at facilities with no public amenities) unless in a range anxiety emergency. Otherwise the wiki format is great and allows us to keep the info up to date.

Someone was posting comments on my account. I emailed the developer and had no response. Now, with the new update, the locations don't load. I can't see the locations I frequent, and the app functionality has gone way downhill. It's been bad the last few months, but now it's not a usable app. Update: Since the last update that now includes ads, the charging stations no longer load properly or at all.

Absolutely love the app, but even for a tech savvy person, I find if i haven't used the app in a while (months), it is hard to remember how to check-in, or how to get to a feature. Pretty obvious when i find it, but maybe this means the app could use a UX overhaul, especially if I keep having to relearn it after months go by. Other suggestions, but maybe this is more a google maps issue, it would be superb if there was a way to route your trip to a charger through an area with fewer hills and less stop and go, sometimes the most direct path is the least efficient!

Basically GasBuddy for EV drivers. Although it doesn't have a rate feature, only locations and availability (and other obvious things like reviews and photos). I especially love the check-in feature, which is how you get availability of stations. But it's only as accurate as the people using the app, so if you have an EV get out there and use it!

An essential but incomplete solution to EV route planning. It's a lifesaver for finding non-Tesla chargers, especially destination chargers at hotels. But they've punted on route planning on the app. You can't plan or edit on the app, just the desktop web site. Also, there seems to be no way to enter an overnight stay at a hotel without manually calculating arrival/departure durations. An 'overnight' option in the charge time dropdown would be a good start.

I've been using this app for years and it's mostly great. There is one new problem lately and two old problems that persist. 1. Recently the app has been overhauled, and now longer descriptions do not display properly. Sometimes the "read more" or scroll bar does not appear. 2. When we tap for directions, the mapping app to "open with" is not remembered. 3. Some fields can't be edited on Android, YEARS after they were editable on iOS.

It's a nice app, but I don't think the PlugShare scores are accurate. The chaging costs aren't accurate either, because they only show the base price per kilowatt hour or unit of time. They don't mention the additional costs, such as sales taxes, franchise fees, gross receipts taxes local option surtaxes, and utility taxes. (Yes, all these fees and taxes added 30% to the base cost of my last charge).

Six months later and I still can't tap and hold to copy an address, and now ads are blasting audio at me out of nowhere. 🤬Used to be 5 stars but maps integration is a bit broken and they removed the ability to touch and hold on an address to copy it to your clipboard. This has made planning a major pain in the...

Update: I figured out that the app is just glitchy and can crash if GPS is turned off. Just turn it on before opening the app. Original: Very useful app when it works. Twice recently I've had the map get stuck on "loading locations" and I can scroll and see chargers but not click on them. After that I have to uninstall and reinstall and then it works again.

PS is working well for my 1st road trip from So. Cal. to WA along the coast. Trip Planner from laptop let me create each day's drive as it's own trip and pick likely charger stops along route in advance, then use phone's Android Auto to navigate via Google Maps. I open PS, pull up a trip, click the stop I want to navigate to from those I've ID'd, click navigate with GMaps, and voila! Giving me peace of mind as I travel the 101 away from cities . The user review scores for chargers are super!
