Be careful of what you select when you are getting your "free trial." The app pushes you to choose a subscription type. I selected a subscription and expected to have three days before I was billed. I was charged immediately, so no free trial. The app doesn't deliver all that it promises. For example, the light meter reads "Full sun" in mostly shaded areas. I am not sure how you cancel a lifetime subscription AFTER they already charged you.

Lesson learned to check the reviews before downloading. As soon as you load into the app, you're required to select a weekly or annual membership plan (7.99/49.99) with a 3 day trial period. If you wish to cancel your subscription before the 3 day period ends, it's NOT easy! I've been going back and forth with customer svc via emails for a day and a half trying to cancel, for them to finally tell them they can't cancel my subscription that it has to be done via my Play store. Not worth the BS.

The app is slow. The features listed as free you have to pay for. If your going to list a feature as free, make it free. The app is also difficult to navigate. The light level detector(which was the only reason I downloaded the app for) is in the premium version. I need it in general, not just for each individual plant I have to click on. I can and will get a free app that gives me that.

I immediately paid for the lifetime membership when I found this app. It has been hit or miss since. I downloaded to all my devices (I have 3) so I could access it easily. 1st the camera feature doesnt work. You have to take all photos 1st then upload them. It does not allow you to edit the photo so it can get the best shot. The identifier is hit or miss. Now they have done something I can't even freaking read any content! It's all white or gray & pictures. No words!!! ITS HORRIBLE

Requires a credit card for it's free trial. That's a no go for me. I wanted to test it by identifying a common flowering plant (Begonia Boliviensis) with a common problem (over watering). However, it requires a credit card to activate it's free trial. Given the number of terrible apps in this space, that's not happening unless I know it works at a basic level.

Issue where it doesn't open the camera from the app and you have to pre-take a pic and upload for identification, the additional steps as a result are annoying. For what you're paying, basic functionality like that shouldn't be an issue. Decent job identifying plants. The info section for the plants is barely readable due to the color selection for the text and background. Another basic issue that makes it not really worth the high cost for the app.

Finding some of my plants was impossible, no matter how many times I retook the image. Or when it finally recognized the plant and gave me options, it would only give me Wikipedia descriptions and wouldn't actually let me select the plant to add to my collection. I could take photos to try and diagnose why my plants were sick, and it would say they were completely healthy when they clearly weren't. Again, I would take multiple photos from different angles and it still didn't work. Trash app.

This app is just a money trap. $7.99 a week is a joke for what they offer. I thankfully cancelled my free trial in time to not get charged, but it's super deceiving when they say the app is free to use, because you get next to nothing in the free version. It's also basically impossible to find exactly what *premium* entails. I searched all over the app and I couldn't find any specifics. I could only upload 3 plants. Don't waste your time. Unless you can pay.

It's a useful app... until you get the constant pop-ups to try their monthly/yearly/lifetime plan. I'm sorry but I'm not going to spend money on something I could google for free. It's nice in that you can add all your plans into one area and get care plans but I'm pretty sure I can find a better app that won't constantly and intrusively plug their paid service to the point where I can't even use certain functions of the app unless I pay $30 a month.

Made the mistake of purchasing right away. I have had a lot of problems with the identifying a plant feature. The camera won't open with the correct permissions given. It's not really user friendly with adding plants to different rooms. You have to add the plant then choose the room. I'd like to be able to add plants when Im in the "room" So far, I'm not happy with the app and after already choosing to purchase it, I feel stuck.

On first installation had an Internet connection error, with excellent internet connection, so uninstalled. Tried again and it worked, but after adding all my plants, which was a little problematic, realized the free version does hardly anything, so tried the free trial. Used it a little but didn't see the value in keeping it, so canceled the pay version and uninstalled. Great concept, but not as useful as I expected for the cost.

This app was totally frustrating! I cancelled the free trial three days before and it still charged me. It's impossible to locate it on Google to cancel the subscription and their customer service was zero help! I gotta cancel my card just to stop the charges from continuing! Save yourself a headache if you don't plan on signing up for the lifetime offer! Proceed with caution with the trial scam!!

This app needs to atleast have a one time fee. A life time 1 time fee to get full version. Would be great to use plus no ads. If this app can have a option to just pay 1 time to get a full life time version. Would be great. Would inspire more people to do gardening. Knowing they can have this as a tool. More people will use. I one of the person who uninstall this do to fees and monthly subscription. No like that. Not alot of people can afford to do month subscription to keep the app running

I paid for a lifetime membership and the app hasn't acknowledged that I did. It still asks me if I want a free trial/membership and, in general, the app doesn't seem to be working correctly. I want to cancel the subscription, but my Google account doesn't have Plantin listed on my subscriptions. The money was taken out of my account, but I received nothing. I'm very disappointed by this experience.

I got the free trial, and the app said it would remind me before charging me. It did not give me any type of notification reminder that I would be charged (yes I made sure to allow notifications etc.). It really sounds dumb, but I was counting on that reminder since it specifically told me it'd give me a reminder! So it charged me, and now I've cancelled. Was considering getting the lifetime, but getting charged $8 weekly for a mediocre app is ridiculous. Don't recommend, it's not worth it.

Really wanted this app to work. I'm spending a lot more time and effort on growing plants both indoors and out. The first three interactions with this app failed. The first plant I scanned was misidentified. I can't manually add a plant as I get an error "something went wrong". Lastly, a plant I did add, that is clearly sick, the diagnosis says the plant is healthy.

Only if you guys would respond to support emails rather than responding to reviews. I sent them multiple types. These are not replies. Not worth any membership. Customer service is almost non existent. Any issue you get, you are on your own. I was charged twice even after getting lifetime membership and now they just disappeared. There are other apps that cost more but are actually very aware of customer's experience and do actually care. I was working with Taylor from customer service.

Giving it a two because it's okay for general tracking, but it's terrible at location detection (shows me as 9a when I'm 10b/11a) and randomly says it is raining when there is less than 10% chance for the next week. Edit: Emailed as requested and received no response. I've since moved on to Plant Parent which doesn't have the issues this does, and allows more plants for free as well as most of the same functionality.

This app has debited 2 payments from my card in less than 1 week. It is charging me $8.55. They billed my card on 06.01 and again today. I need to know how to request a refund. If you try and request a refund, it goes directly to paypal and asks you to put in an amount. Then you have the option to sdd a message. Don't do this, you will be sending them more money. They almost got me. UPDATE: Missed the weekly charge on the fine print. Canceled. App is not worth $40 - 50 monthly.

Edited to add: I reached out to support may 8th very politely just asking for clarification on the charges and have heard nothing back for three weeks. Wrote them again this morning with a more aggressive tone demanding cancellation. We'll see.... charged me for an annual membership in May but are still trying to renew my subscription in June. the cancel button to end subscription doesn't work and they offer no alternative method of cancellation
