This emulator is shockingly good on battery, and I believe it's the only free one that doesn't have ads. There's fast forward and slo-mo, customizable gamepad, all of the basic things you'd want. There are a lot more options in the paid version but if you just want a good basic emulator to play games this is the best free one available

this is great! it's a great nostalgia machine, I love playing the old games I used to and it runs very smoothly as do the controls. As there is no psychical tactile feel the vibrations from the button presses does help. I just wish there was a way to run 2 games simultaneously so that you can trade with yourself for Pokémon games. That's the only thing keeping it from a 5/5 for me at least.

My only issue is that I'm getting an error whenever I try to import a .sav file from another emulator. Everything else is great. Definitely keeping an eye on this. It has all the essential options I look for. Rounded my review up to 5 stars because this deserves a higher rating than it has. I like it more than a lot of the ones that have over a million downloads.

Would be 5/5 if not for UI. Other emulators manage to have options to hide certain aspects, rearrange & fiddle with their UI. This emulator does not do that. Two huge buttons smack dab in the middle of your screen that you cannot control opacity, size, nor visibility. Some of the lacking "ad-free" features can be irksome and unnecessary, but it is what it is, dev needs money I guess. Plays ROMs just fine.

Honestly, a great emulator! Button customizing to accomodate for my hands and phone screen size, a speed changer to make difficult things more manageable (or lengthy events much quicker), and being able to save screenshots (though, the gif recording feature doesn't seem to work well. Not really an issue anyway, but it is weird), perfect for mobile, especially considering this is free.

I normally don't write reviews, but this is a great emulator! I've tried other free emulators (such as My GBA), but they pale in comparison. I don't need much to be happy besides smooth frame rates, multiple save states, and NO ADS, all of which this has... and more! Also, EXCELLENT customer service. I e-mailed the dev directly with a bug issue, and he was very quick to respond! Also, the Pizza Boy Discord is great for troubleshooting. Even though I have experienced some bugs, 5 stars!!

easy to use, but 4 because the directional pad is a bit finicky. You practically have to press on the tip of the arrow, or else it will think you are pressing a near by direction. Example: pressing left (not on the tip) and I move down. Perhaps it's the size of my d-pad, but any bigger it'd be over the screen. Just a minor irrigation.

Pretty good emulator overall. Loads the ROMs and runs them well, along with cheat codes that I find online. I like the speed change function as well as having different control placement for the vertical and horizontal rotations. One issue I've noticed is that the "Remove Cheat" button doesn't seem to work for me, at least not that I've been able to figure out, so I had to reinstall the app to put in new cheats. Other than that, great emulator; would definitely recommend! 👍

Imo the free version of this app is quite generous to be able to let you have multiple save states while also being able to keep the actual saved game kept inside of the rom as well. I've had a lot of difficulties prior with other emulators keeping up to that. But why shouldn't i buy the premium for the $5 when it's totally worth it. It's so simple when it can read zips as well being able to take less than a minute to get the game going.

I've only tried playing one game, and even with the free version this app seems to work great. Some more intense platforming is next to impossible but without a physical D-pad I don't see this being a developer issue, instead being more of a limitation of not having an actual handheld console. External saves and the ability to slow down or speed up the game are great features. I haven't tried other emulators but that's because this one suits my needs just fine.

The only issue this seems to have is the buttons themselves. A lot of times it either doesn't register being tapped or activates the button next to the one you want. The Start and Select ones are particularly bad to the point of having to be tapped multiple times before finally working. I've even tried resizing and moving them into different positions to no avail. Otherwise it's pretty good.

So far (about 2 hours of playtime), this is by far the best free GBA emulator I've tried - and I've tried a bunch of the top recommended. It was between this and Retroarch for me, but the "feel" of playing games and ability to move/resize the buttons put Pizza Boy ahead. I'll update this if anything changes that is noteworthy, but as of now - super well designed emulator.

Very good app, no bugs I can see, and I've put hours into games on the app. Plays just like a Gameboy, in-game saving saves your progress so when you close the app and open it again, it opens up the game you were just playing (starting from that specific game's start up loading screen). Feels like I'm playing the Gameboy game instead of having to choose and load the game every time. 5/5 stars!

I honestly can't believe this app is free and ad-free. It's easy to use, super customizable, and works great. I love being able to pull up nostalgic games to play when I'm waiting around, rather than sit through ads to merge stuff. The "basic" edition has more than enough features for me, but I plan on purchasing the full version, simply to support the devs because this is truly a great emulator.

I would give this app 5 stars, but 3 is the best I can do as I have been experiencing an audio bug that distorts the sound in the games that I play. Currently playing on a Galaxy Note 9 w/ Android 9. Games run perfectly it's just the audio that seems to not be functioning properly. Other than that great work and please fix soon! EDIT: I no longer experience the audio bug, thx for fixing and keep up the great work!

It's possible to accidentally remove the options menu, and fixing it requires clearing the app data, which will delete your saved game. That's right— for some inexplicable reason it stores saved games in its internal app data instead of just in a file you can export. Apparently putting saves into a .sav file (standard for all emulators) is a "beta feature" buried in the options menu and has to be manually enabled. Unbelievable. Also, all audio has about 2 seconds of delay. Runs fine otherwise.

Pizzaboy is great, its got some neat features like gyro support and color correction for the first era of GBA games that were designed for a screen thats not backlit. But it has what I would consider a major flaw in the audio department. When it comes to input latency its alright but audio latency is definitely bad and there are no options to change that.

Playing on pixel 6 and it's by far the best GBA emulator I've used. Sadly currently has an audio distortion bug that makes it hard for me to want to use it. The bug is making the audio sound very glitchy and out of tone. Games are running full speed so I'm pretty sure it's not a performance issue.

super easy to use and install everything I can ask for for free, no ads to boot! You must download any games you want to play then using this app you find the file and it opens right up ready to go! lots a great features for you too use with having to upgrade. that being said I would suggest grabbing the paid for version if you have the money for all the extra features you'll have access to.

Not good controls. The directional pad is all one button so you can't make changes to prevent awkward controls. There is bigger a smaller thats it. The corners of the directional pad move up or down. So if you want to move left to right but shift your thumb too low you move down causing more problems than a millisecond of not moving. They need to make four different directional buttons all movable and resizeable with no invisible controls.
