Loved the first game, there was just lack of content later. This one is looking great so far, love the new features and far bigger map. Only issue I had so far was a corrupted save file when I saved during battle (@BUG). Keep up the good work! EDIT: Did not actually mind starting over (have not played for some time), as I enjoy games like this. No issues so far...

Tbh, the game's pretty fine, although the relationship system feels kinda pointless (this game is still on beta, after all) and getting job is harder to do than in the first game (and buggy too). My biggest complain is how easy it is to make money. I've been playing for 10 minutes trading spices and i already have over 1 million money/gold, which is kinda ruin the experience for me and makes plundering other ship's pretty pointless. Please make the money-making technique a bit more balanced. Thx

This game started so good, I spent eight hours on it but I'm becoming very irritated. Why is my crew surrendering when I still vastly outnumber them? Why does my crew not surrender when the ship is 1 point away from being sunk? The surrender mechanic is so broken and annoying. My ship is fine, I have three times the enemy crew numbers, yet I'm suddenly left with no choice but to surrender? This is a great game but that mechanic severely ruins it for me. Please fix that or I'm gonna stop playing!

The game is in beta that is why I gave it 5 stars, and there are buggs of course. Whenever I share the plunder, my crew is never satisfied, and so far, I have never had a crew with high moral. I put my training in etiquette for some time now, but it did not raise the bar an inch. Now this is not a bug, but I can't find the option to attack a town anywhere, I mean, what is the point in investigating defences? One last thing: I did not come across any use for the last couple of skills (gaming, perception)

It's addicting but needs more tuning. Better if the things in the profile can be described (e.g. Tasks-no description of how to carry them on). And when there is too much cargo, it would be convenient for the option to throw them off board is within the same conversations. Game's also stalemate when there's not enough men to recruit and you have too many ships. Or when you only have prize ships.

This game is a lot of fun. Once they've got everything from the old game implimented its going to be just phenominal. I love the addition of character customization, being able to take ships as a prize and having subordinates. I'm hoping ship mods will be added like in the old game. Don't want to lose any content. Anyways, awesome game! Edit: I've gotta say, its been in beta for a very long time. I actually paid to support the developers because I had such high hopes for this game.

The game has promise. I loved Pirates and Traders 1 but I find the lack of pointers and explainers to every mechanic challenging. I want to change my Flag ship, for example but I can't seem to find the button to do so. Icons can also be bigger. I want the markers for shortages and rumours back too. I like the depth of the game but I wish there were more graphics available. I also prefer a new screen for the rumours instead of one long paragraph that get longer. More input if I had more space.

Been playing the original ao decided to give this a go. Game seems like a huge improvement, there are a lot more commodities to trade with, ship variety also much bigger. Ships can be equipped with different cannons, both aft and stern chasers. Different ammunitions are also available at dockyards. Since the game is still early access, many features still missing. I have yet to encounter duels of any kind for example. Lots of potential here, all the best for the dev!!

I've been a big fan of the original "Pirates and Traders," but the sequel "Pirates and Traders 2" has left me a bit disappointed. Since the first game, it seems like some features have gone missing. I can no longer attack ports, and upgrading my ship's rigging or other components doesn't seem possible anymore. I also can't find any missions to take on, which makes the gameplay feel a bit emptier than before. Overall, it's still a fun game, but it is missing essential features.

Unplayable in its current state. I feel like I'm playing a barely functional CYOA. The first game is a seamless experience with vital game information present at a single button click or bundled into other menus you're going to see; this is not and you need to read an essay and click through 4 menus (instead of 2 clicks) to access the market or the troop numbers which used to be easy access info. I'd rather you add the features of this game to Pirates and Traders 1 as an update.

It's fun and I feel like I'm really a pirate captain my problem is my never attacks they always try to flee because of this I end up losing. The storage on ships are also broken, I often find myself having to sell everything on it before the game realizes that I'm not overloaded than buy it all back. This game needs plenty of polishing before it's finished.

Broken. Even after all these years of development the map is choppy and icons don't scale smoothly when zooming. Several errors in text (missing locations, battles, etc). I got stuck in a grapple stalemate for 400 turns, and my 300 crew apparently couldn't kill 40 or make them surrender, had to load an old save. Now I'm stuck in port because I assigned a captain to a different ship, but can't move crew between anywhere but myself and prize ships.

Really fun. Like it so far. That being said, would like a couple things- ability to move prisoners, or interact with captured captains. Menus are a little crude as well. Also, i do not think i see an icon for "tobacco" on the map when it is in demand by islands. Overall, could use some polishing, but the core is really fun.

Absolutely addicted to the first Pirates and Traders game you made. I like a lot of the new things in this version, like more items to buy, and a map you can zoom in an out of, but I HATE the new layout for buying goods. Seems like it was designed to look prettier but it's actually more confusing now and kind of aggrivating to be honest. Hopefully thst gets fixed soon so I can enjoy the game more.

The game is great a very good improvement from the first but there are very may bugs and a lot of guessing. there's a bug where you can't trade cargo between ships and can't assault cities at the start if all. which is a good learn from what you do. lastly no visual difference between have one or many ship in a party and you other ship can't really do anything engage not working.

(January of2018): I'm sure this will get better with time, the last game was great, but there is a few of bugs in this one. I couldn't reset the tutorial because if I did, the notification at the bottom wouldn't go away and I couldn't press some pretty important buttons. I'll probably reinstall in a few months to see the progress, but I don't think it's really worth playing now. Edit: So, I tried the updated version. A lot less bugs were in the beginning, but still unplayable.

I would be upset if I bought this. To be clear, I bought pirates and traders gold and I love it! I see what they're trying to do here, but just about every choice is backwards. Less is more. It's superficially interesting to have a bigger map and a customizable character and more text to read to do options, but it adds nothing to gameplay and I dare say takes away. And let's be honest here, this is all a text and turn based Sid Meier's pirates, right? Be more like that.

This game is like the first but larger scale however there's alot missing from here that the first game has but this one doesn't. There's honestly not much to do a and it is a pain to catch most ships, or just transfer cargo and crew between ships. In the grand scheme of things nothing much to do right now, no missions, very few random events, very few npc interactions. The games no where near finished. But despite all that have faith in this sequel and see a LOT of potential here. Keep it up.

I loved the first so had to try this, and now i love this one too! There are glitches that need to be fixed like music playing when its set to "mute" and not being centered on my ship when i leave a town; and since i have several ships its taking longer to load. But still an awesome game. Thanks devs! Cant wait for the final release when Beta testing is done.

There are a few bugs, the game is pretty empty in current state, but it's under development so no complaints about it. I love the idea and the core of the game. The battle system is fine as it is, no need to overcomplicate it. If it's going to be about trading, planning, politics (in a way) with possible development of own fraction, production, trade networks, rivals, wars etc etc, I'm so into it. Of course it's rough on the edges, but I'm looking forward to seeing what's coming up later.
