Been a PayPal customer for almost 2 decades now. I had to officially make the transition to zettle because my PayPal here finally crapped out on me and thought I'd try out the new POS system. I liked the interface. But my biggest issue was the reader. Disconnects constantly and slowed my sales speed tremendously. Giving it 3 stars Instead of 1 because the customer service is decent. Getting sent a new one and hope it's different. But until then, gonna use square cause it's just better as of now.

I can't add new items and it's too complicated. When a customer add their info they don't want to "be in the know" and it won't go past that screen. It should be simple. Add an item, add a customer. PayPal Here was "a little" more simple but not by much. I just want to add items and customers. There's no use in having this app if I can't get the simplest features. PayPal won't be my business solutions. 😔

When you set the default tax rate, it doesn't stay locked in. You have to change it for each transaction and it's very annoying, especially if you have multiple tax rates already set for the system. There is an issue with Venmo glitching out during transactions with customers. It will pull their funds from their accounts, and venmo does not credit our side of the transaction.

Discovered manual card payments must be manually activated in the Settings. Despite the percentage increase this is cheaper than driving across town for manual swiping. I really don't have any issues with this app. Their card swiper seems to be a bit sluggish on booting up and pairing, but it's well made and hasn't had a single glitch.

Good overall experience. Reliable app. BUT.......needs to have provisions to set permissions for STAFF MEMBERS and an auto logout feature. Currently, staff members can issue refunds not authorized by management. Also, if a staff member forgets to logout, a 2nd staff member who has access to the same device can access the 1st staff members data even if the 2nd staff member logs in with his own credentials. I think this could be a HUGE problem. Should NOT allow multiple simultaneous logins.

Literally the worst smart phone app I have ever used. I have to force quit & restart the app, and reboot the card reader at most, after 3 transactions, and often, for every single sale. When business is busy and (hundreds of sales per day) it can easily quadruple the time to run a CC. Often the card reader goes to sleep and wont reconnect, or the app freezes. Also, a MASSIVE pain to have to manually turn on sales tax for EVERY SINGLE SALE. Consider other payment processors. Zettle has issues.

Same issues as everyone else. The app itself is fine, but if the card reader keeps dropping the connection, payments don't go through, shows clients payment went through when it doesn't, holding funds for 21 days, tip option is less than great, this just isn't going to work for me. Just bring back paypal here, everything was fine until the switch to this. Been with PayPal since taking cards for business, but currently looking at other options because this Zettle/PayPal is a train wreck.

Not sure why so many people are leaving negative reviews. Pretty straight forward system. Connected easily and handles transactions quickly. The only thing I'd like to see added is an item "quick add" feature for on-the-fly sales. A couple tips for users having trouble... Manual entry complaints: Go into settings and turn on manual entry. Receipt options: email, print and text options are all available after checkout. Partial refund options: not great but for partial ref, use the Zettle Go app

A big downgrade from PayPal Here. Used PayPal Here for several years without issues. After they discontinued PayPal Here and forced me into Zettle, I've had nothing but issues. When it works, it works okay. Paired no problem but even when plugged in, it doesn't stay connected and can take up to 3 minutes to connect to the reader. This makes busy events VERY frustrating for both the customer and myself. You also can't transfer your funds directly from the app, you need the PayPal app to do that.

I have used PayPal Here for a few years with great success. I am currently AT AN EVENT and forced to "upgrade" to zettle, but my card reader obviously won't work for that. I am now unable to take credit card payments for a weekend long event because you never sent me an email, notification, or notice that this would be happening. I will be using other PoS options from now on. This is unacceptable.

While the features and layout of the app is okay, the hoops you have to jump through to use this service is not worth it. My first card reader arrived damaged and the second one arrived after the event despite it having plenty of shipping time and overnight delivery. Then I got an email about a month later that limited the account I have never used for no reason, then an automatic deactivated email was sent in error when I tried to resolve the unnecessary limitation. I lost business due to this.

When first installed 2 years ago it worked as it should simple, fast, and easy. It now is a Pain in the butt to use and won't stay connected on Bluetooth unless you are using Wi-Fi via hotspot or otherwise. The work around for that is to run everything manually but that takes forever and customers are not known for patience. I will be switching to something else Asap.

Used this card reader for the first time this weekend and it was seriously unreliable. It constantly disconnected from the app every time the device or my phone went to sleep, and it takes forever to reconnect. Customers aren't generally patient people, so this device hurt sales rather than helped. The only way I could keep the devices connected was to have them both plugged in to a backup battery so they would stay on and not go to sleep in-between sales. Pretty annoying overall.

So far, I like the PayPal Here App better. I liked how PayPal Here had both custom amount and percent amount for tip and that it was the same place that the customer signed. You didn't have to ask the customer for a tip. They just saw it when they went to sign. Also, the card reader they gave me doesn't have a swipe reader. Some credit cards or gift cards don't have a chip, and if I have to enter it manually then I get charged more.

absolutely atrocious - forced to upgrade, forced to purchase a new reader, all for less functionality than PayPal Here. Have to choose between percentage and dollar amount for the tip, have to ask the customer if they want to tip (how tacky can you get), the screen on the reader is ridiculously small so my older clients have trouble seeing it. Such garbage. Going to check Square out since this app is so pathetic.

Pretty decent little point of sale system that works great for me! The only improvement I would make to the app itself is that I wish there was a better way of sorting items I have for sale. (Ex: I sell lots of jewelry at different price points. It would be helpful to have a Folder option, where I could select Necklaces, for example, then be able to sort all of my necklace listings there.) When you have many items for sale, the tiles can get cluttered and it's hard to find what you need quickly.

In a word: horrible. Despite having had to pay $80 for each reader, they barely work. Every single transaction requires the reader to reconnect with the app, a process that takes anywhere from 2-5 minutes. Other times a transaction will stop processing so the reader can reconnect again, causing the sale to have to be redone. This app and the overpriced readers are slow, cumbersome, and unreliable.

Edit 2: play roll back the software to 2 updates ago, because that actually worked. Edit: the latest update keeps throwing technical errors after the sale looks as if it's completed. Getting used to it, works pretty well and I'm pleasantly surprised that it will print through a TSP100iii printer. The tipping section of check out is a bit awkward. Works far better in landscape mode then portrait.

PayPal Here worked just fine. I've had a PayPal account for over 10 years. Why do I all of the sudden need to provide photo ID and documentation just to receive a payment? And then there is a reviewing process after providing that documentation which they say will be taken care of "soon". I'd give it zero stars if I could. Very unhappy, and makes me think twice about continuing using PayPal as a whole. A perfect example of fixing something that's not broken.
