This app and other apps developed by PassportParking inc. request way too many permissions up front. Why are they requested up front and not when they needed during the operation of the app as most apps do? This happens when the app is compiled with an older SDK. Why isn't the app updated yet? Why does it require profile information and direct access to the phone and network connections? Why does it need the device ID? These are very unusual permissions for an app that simply allows users to enter a parking zone and pay for a parking session.

Cannot use your digital wallet. If you forget your CC or wallet you can't use it. It you have your CC, you can use that. This offers nothing but more bloat on your phone. Also, Debt card gets declined because it requires a PIN that the app won't let you enter. Total junk.

This app is real sketchy.. it doesn't let you extend time. It always tells me to move my car because it can't renew time. I thought this was supposed to be convenient but yet I still have to try to make it outside to renew meter. Then when I do pay thru app, I'll still get tickets 🤦♀️

This app is OK when it actually works. Every now and then it asks to verify account, when this happens your pin will no longer work. Walk all the way back to my car and find the meter I parked at is broken, so now i have to drive around and find another meter. New meter 2 hour max, where I was originally parked was 4 hours. I've wasted probably 2 hours of my life thanks to this garbage app. Is park Boston going to pay me for my time? Of course not, but id be expected to pay the ticket.

You will get parking tickets with this app. There is apparently a major gap between when you use the app and how parking enforcement can see that you've paid. You can fight them online and Boston even has a whole dispute category for ParkBoston discrepancies. It's ok when it works but if you rely on this just realize you will likely have to dispute tickets.

It'd be great if meter maids actually checked it, but it was a rude surprise coming back to a parking ticket after paying through the app, long before my paid time expired. Guess I'll have to continue keeping quarters in the car, after all...

All too often I pay for my time, only to find I am shorted by a full minute or more. For example I recently paid for 1 hour 12 minutes of parking, $2.50 + a $0.30 convenience fee. When my timer started however I had only 1 hour 10 minutes and 40 seconds or so. Over time this adds up pretty quickly. A minute and 20 seconds or so with each parking space and in 30 days you've lost a full 40 minutes of parking time.

How does this app not know I'm about to get towed in this spot? 20 minutes into my time it became a tow zone, so instead of $2.65 it cost me $135 plus an hour to get my car. Silver lining: lot was T-accessible and the people at Transportation were friendly, making this my least bad towing experience - and they charged $90 instead of $200+ that some places charge. That was my first experience with this app. Since then it has been consistently easy to use and demands less data access than Passport.

You know how much you love to sign up for a new app, give them all your info, register a credit card, put in you car info, find what area you're in, and pay twice as much. Yeah me either, zero stars for replacing a quarter with a new way to waste my time and money.

I used to love this app. Now it"s HORRIBLE! Only allowing me to add time up to the next new hour -- meaning that for instance if it's 3:35 in the afternoon it will only allow me to park until 4!! What in the world is up with that? Tiny slider to select parking time is way too small and finicky, even if it did work correctly! VERY upsetting!

So, I paid for 2 hours of parking from the app. When I went to add more time they said it was blocked time and I had to run all the way back to the car from my meeting and add it with my card on the meter. I wish I was aware this area did this ahead of time I would have planned accordingly. I was able to add more time but still do not know how long the blocked time was in place for.

Tried to enter my email address at step one. but the app claims my email address is invalid?! I don't use Gmail. So the programmers of Park Boston think that non-Gmail email addresses are invalid? My advice to the Boston authority: hire better programmers.

Charges a $0.40 surcharge just to use the application no matter what amount of time you're using. Also I noticed that it doesn't work in Somerville or Everett. doesn't work in Boston anymore nor does the city use it

paid through this app and got issued a ticket when I got back to my car. I did everything right, correct zone, correct license plate.... now I have to send in a written appeal via mail to the city of Boston. and I paid extra $0.40 for this through the app. please fix

It's already painful enough to try to find parking, decipher parking signs, avoiding crazy drivers, and park... then you are met with an app that doesn't keep you logged in and almost every time you use it, one has to start from scratch. sitting there in my car trying to log into this app you would think I'm trying to break into fort knox.

12/23/22 Update: password requirement still does not see that I've got more than 1 of the required special characters in my password. Back to paying meters with coins. 8/15/22 Update: was 5 stars, now 1. I tried setting up my new account with this update, I had "at least 1 special character" in my password and it didn't acknowledge it. I'm not interested in connecting this to my Google account. So I'll wait until this bug gets fixed.

New app sucks. One day I paid and I got a ticket for non payment. I disputed the ticket with a screenshot from the app. Next day, same thing. But when I went to take a screenshot of the app, it acted like I had no parking history, and I park at the meter EVERY DAY! I think I'll take up smoking because I will be walking out to pay the meter 3 times a day now!

Better to just slide a card in the meter if possible. Tried to use the app. Entered an email address to check out. The app said the address was already attached to an account. Tried to sign in, but the email with the sign in link didn't arrive right away. Then it didn't open the app properly. This app adds a lot of extra steps that are unnecessary to park at a city meter for an hour. The new tap to pay readers on the T work well. Should've taken the subway. This app was miserable.

Doesn't keep you logged in. They probably figured out that if they force logged people out that it leads to an increase in revenue. I got logged out and tried to reset my password and the email didn't come. I had to go to a quick appointment and came back to a ticket. I just tried again, weeks later. It accepts my email address and says "reset email sent." It is not in my inbox or spam folder. Whether calculated or due to incompetence, the result is the same.
