Very fun mobile version of Persona 5 that is completely ruined by greed. Recent news shows they have not listened either. The accelerated schedule, alteration of basic gameplay weaknesses, and overall shaft that has been given to global ALL need to be addressed and remedied. I love Persona 5, and I love gacha games too. I've been looking forward to this game for so long. DO BETTER. JUST GIVE US WHAT YOU'VE ALREADY GIVEN OTHER SERVERS!!

This game is really fun, but the gacha is way too predatory. The rates for five star (good) characters are way too low, and most of your Meta Jewels, Platinum Tickets, and Gold Tickets go towards useless personas. The resources should be given out way more frequently, and even when you want to buy them you barely get anything for your money. There are so many characters, but if you can't even get them, then what's the point?

As a Persona fan, I was very excited to give this a try when they announced the global release. It's pretty fun to play, I love the parallel connection w/ P5's universe. However, some of the game mechanics are difficult to get used to (mainly when playing via mobile), the gacha rate is pretty poor, the progress system felt very slow, & the lag is frustrating. I'm pretty disappointed in the end & ended up switching to playing via PC for a better-ish experience. 3/5--highest. :/

This game is a chore it's really badly optimized for android at least, can't play with a controller because the game starts loading super slowly, the gacha mechanics are very, very confusing, it doesn't explain anything at all, the story progression goes by so slowly and the side activities are kind of boring, nothing in this game is worth your time, do no get, at least not now, if they revamp a lot of stuff and at least try to make the game better I'll give it another try, but right now, don't.

My brain is turned off when I'm playing this. Graphics are definitely better than most games, but there's no strategizing at all with the turn based combat. Enemies are too easy to beat, it feels like I use one move and I can "All in" and eliminate all the enemies in two turns everytime. The game also has a world you can walk around in, but when you go from objective to objective, you are walking 10 steps and are sent straight into a cutscene. The story is interesting and immersive though.

There's a good game in here with an interesting story and good characters. What's more, it's all in the spirit of Persona 5 (despite being a spin-off). Unfortunately, as-is, the overwhelming amount of in-your-face monetization completely mires the experience, and it's made worse by the fact that f2p rewards are significantly diminished compared to the game's original release in China. Persona 5 is one of my all-time favorite games. I want to like this, but as a gacha, other gachas do it better.

I'm doing my part! But no really, the game is rough around the edges, but it has potential. That potential is being squandered by the incredibly predatory actions of the publisher on the global server, unfortunately. The writing is okay (and gets better with time), the characters are good, the mechanics are solid...but the global version is just so incredibly low effort and greedy compared to the original. Unless they fix the issues with global, it won't last long; save your time and money.

The game is really fun and pretty polished but they are treating global poorly for no reason. We have to wait 5 months for standard units to join the pool after their banner ends!! Not to mention they gave out minami and her weapon for free on CN but not here. This is ridiculous. EDIT 9/4: The devs have been treating us much better as of late. They are pushing QOL from other servers way earlier, as well as giving us better rewards and new events. Give it a try and see if you like it.

As the other reviews stated, they really want you to spend money. Theres so many rewards that you get but can only use to buy very specific items, and it gets confusing and complicated. The combat is also more complicated than Persona 5 Royal, and it's a bit different from the persona games I've played (P3P, P4G, P5R). You're better off just playing P5R. Despite all of that, I find this game to be pretty fun. I like the character designs, they are very interesting.

Certainly a JRPG grindfest, but that's only for the side content. If you're grinding the extra stuff, you can basically run right through the main campaign. Lots of dialog, but welcome to Persona! It's good content and good story, so I'm confused why the rating is so low?!?!?! If you like Persona and can't commit to consoles, like many working RPGers, then I think it's pretty phenomenal.

The game was great during the first month. I took a break during August and came back today only to find out that google accounts won't sign in, and worst of all, it wants me to start all over again, losing my exclusive fantom theifs I unlocked from July. I'm very unhappy about this as I lost exclusive progress and my normal progress as well. I don't really feel like starting a 100+ hour long game over again after pouring in several hours of work... so one star for you. Don't play you will lose.

The story and gameplay is great but they don't deserve good reviews until we get the same treatment as CN when it comes to rewards and/or they give us more rewards to compensate for the accelerated update path in order to catch up with CN. Not enough resources for how fast the banners will be coming. Do better. EDIT: They seem to have listened! lots of improvements already and seems like more are coming. If you like persona just give it a try! If I see consistent improvement they'll earn the 5⭐!

Great game, I like how I can go back to whatever I was doing in my last login when I open the game. Instead of restarting from a checkpoint that I saved like the original game. It feels like I'm back in the good ol' days of Persona 5 with the setting and art style, if not then better. Please don't hate because its gacha (even tho you most likely are playing one already). I hope devs would consider adding an English dub and bring back the old cast members.

theres always a game or 2 that grab my attention each year that I play for a few months and then drop, but I honestly think I will be playing this until the game dies in the future! I have never played a mobile game with so much to it. It has an actual plot, characters that are a part of the story/world and not just there to fill out a roster, so many side things to do, and is such a great take on the persona series. Best part is that its free, no ads, and you can get by without dropping a dime!

Persona 5/P5R is my 4th favorite game of all time, so I do very much like this game as well. It's only flaw ,which is a huge flaw, is the same problem all "Free to Play" games have. The monetization. I should mention that you'll never have to spend money to advance the story, so long as you put in the extra grind. But anyone wanting to collect all the characters will either need a ton of luck or a decent amount of disposable income.

I really do like the game but there are a few issues. It's a gacha game while carrying underwhelming updates compared to China. Having store ads hit your screen first before anything is a bit annoying. UI is a bit clunky and currency system is confusing. Other than that. Good characters, great music. I hope to see this game do better soon.

Almost everything to love about Persona is totally absent here. 90% of the game is dialogue, which is a shame, since most of it is to bloat the run time and doesn't contribute to the plot or character development. The gacha elements don't really work with the Persona formula, either; party members just feel like stat sheets as opposed to people you form bonds with and relate to. P5X is nothing more than a half-baked gacha JRPG that copied most of its assets from a better game. End of story.

The game itself is okay, managed to capture the mainline Persona games elements pretty well. There are translation issues though, and it is badly optimized for mobile (even on lowest settings on a last year flagship device). The most glaring issue is that the global server is getting the short end of the stick in comparison to CN/TW/KR servers and the latest livestream only made it worse (characters being added to the standard pool late, rewards nerfed/backloaded etc.). Rating 1* until fixed.

Besides being buggy (playing on Note25 Ultra), the Persona series just doesn't translate well to being a mobile game. The series has always been big on story. But when I have a 30 min commute to work. I cant enjoy it because it has too many stretches of dialogue dumps. Where you are doing nothing. Which works for console gaming. Not so much for mobile. The biggest problem is, it is just another gatcha game, just with a persona skin. Nothing new. Nothing original. Nothing unique.

The gameplay isn't bad, but it's clear that they've decided to focus on finding more ways to get people to spend rather than creating an enjoyable experience. Especially when we have previous versions to compare to, the global version is way stingier, consistently giving less rewards and increasing prices. Unless SEGA puts out a statement to at least commit to reward parity with the Chinese server, I can't recommend playing this game. At the very least, definitely don't spend on it.
