Normally, I could just select any word in the web then press the 3 dots, afterward I can select the dictionary I want to use. However, after the last upadate, this app disappeared from the list. ):

the app is not so bad but it has great room for improvement. my suggestions: +adding pronunciation for languages other than English +using a more user friendly theme like other oxford dictionaries +new icon +removing "tap to translate" notification +adding apps such as "Oxford English thesaurus"

Perfect for every day usage, great for work related projects and professional writing, use while reading to help comprehend what is being read, and use while writing for proper verbiage. 🤓 Combined with a thesaurus, your work could be bloody excellent for whatever project is due.

Works adequately. Results seem very similar to Google Translate, but with some additional information. I should add, that the only foreign language which I have used, is German.

Very interesting and i could appreciate,if only the app should save the frequent vocabulary used by the user for reviewing

Nevermind I take it back you leave this application as is or make it more free then this application is ideal. I didn't like the other one but heck add more languages too yeah this is definitely worth it currently. I'd prefer the real deal but heck this is just as good while I save for it.

Misleading advertising in my opinion. After purchasing English Dictionary the offer appeared for this dictionary with translations. I did not know i had to purchase each translation individually. Not what was expected. Not good for me. Extremely overpriced and would like a refund.

I can easily find the word in question. An excellent vocabulary is an absolute necessity. I have used dictionaries since I was four years old; a good thesarus is invaluable, found a Roget's when I was five. I stillmake errors, but they are not glaring.

The free version is so mean - a maximum of 5 definitions of which I was allowed 4 - that it is difficult to assess accurately. However, working from Italian to GB English, the definitions given were all American in tone, diction and spelling. For example, 'Poi e non poi!' is translated as 'No siree!' 'all'occhio di bue' as 'sunny side up', 'bue da lavoro' as 'draft' ox... I can only assume that this who-cares attitude pervades the whole enterprise, making it useless for my purposes.

"Word of the day" in 80% is useless - some latin/ancient definition or a very specific one (medical/technical, etc.). Please give commonly used advanced words that we'll use use in our lifes! P.S. Notification toggle settings for "Word of the day" doesn't work - having it turned off, I still get notifications. App v.3.3.210

It's the app I always wished Oxford would develop some day. Having access to 14 dictionaries is amazing! A little pricey, but nothing over the top! I prefer to pay monthly for 14 dictionaries than for any streaming service that I never watch.

Wonderful, absolutely fine, thanks!Quite superb amd attractively drawn up by arrangements of sumptuous feast of words that appeal to the senses. Energizing and delicately pleasing: for the profusion of numerous word-listing minimize the trouble for looking up unknown words in some word-finder app.Nice offer through so gifted and stylish look and designed setup.

All of the sudden Urdu disappeared in the dictionaries after the latest update. Yesterday I uninstalled the app thinking the error was in my phone. But after reinstalling it and downloading English database, Urdu Dictionary appeared back in list but now instead it gives me the option to buy although I've already bought this item months ago. The ads are also there whenever you open the app. They do disappear after but yet the experience to open the dictionary has become quite annoying.

UPDATE : Took 4 days but got the requested refund. Now satisfied with my purchase and refund. (it was just not playing nice with my Note 5) ..Was not working like it should and even though I paid for premium version kept prompting me to buy premium even after deleting and reinstalling. Wrote authors after many failed attempts to get it working correctly within hours of purchase and endless attempts. I got disgusted with the app and went for a full refund. At the time of this review (almost 12hrs later) still waiting on their resolve. Nothing heard at this point. I will update this review when I have more to add. Problems : was prompting to go Premium when already did. No definitions only English to Spanish translation and reverse Spanish to English with words only. I could have gotten that for free with no ads from Google Translate. Not at all satisfied with my purchase. Deleted the app and waiting.. More later. Ron @ Memphis, Tennessee USA

The dictionaries are very good, but the app could be improved. I was not able to translate Russian text to English, only individual words (but often not inflected verbs). It does work well for translating English text to Russian, either by typing or using the camera.

MobiSystems is doing extraordinary work with the MSDict Viewer platform. The Translator app makes for an unsurpassed server of the individual dictionaries which are, mind, OFFICIAL digital versions of Oxford's products in print. The reason for four stars is that the advantage of audio accompaniment to the digital product is missed, due to an apparent bug with the Translator's player when streaming from the integrated dictionaries, causing effects ranging from hangs to incorrect playback.

It was much better before the recent redesign. Now I have to switch to the dictionary manually when i open the app, and it's less straightforward to favourite a term. It's still well worth the subscription, especially given how many languages you get access to. I just preferred the previous version.

I use the app as a dictionary. The last update is not user friendly in this sense. I mean then the app is loaded the text translation is available on the screen by default. To used the dictionary feature i am forced to make some touches on the screen. Also, it is not posible to find the definition of the abbreviations used by the app. It is not possible to follow the composite link presented as a sinonim in the brackets

Purchased the Oxford concise French dictionary hours earlier, then discovered this app featured audio translation and additional languages. Nope, you have to pay for EACH additional language. Can't see a big difference between the two apps. Huge waste of money for the 2 apps which are basically the same. On top of that, the audio pronunciations are terrible. There are FREE translation apps with far better audio pronunciation.

I love the accuracy of the translations. However, as I've mentioned before, there should be an adjustment in settings to regulate the speed of the translated voice(to adjust the speed; making it easier to learn). The translation voice speaks way too fast when trying to make out and interpret words allowing one to repeat the translation; especially when speaking Tagalog Philippine language. I would easily give 5 stars for that adjustment. I hope you'll consider it because i know it's possible.
