Great dictionary. I bought it because I trust Oxford over others as I want UK English but the price is too high. Please include a one-time purchase option. I don't want to pay every year 10$. CD version is much more affordable comparing to this costly subscription. It will be very helpful if there is a one-time purchase option available.

I suggest it would've been much better if you had maintained OALD9 with the same features (in the app) and rename it as OALD10 and add some new words, new definitions, more examples, more new features, more phrases and more pictures into it. That would've been great AND I wouldn't have minded buying it or subscribing to it even if it cost £200.

I like the app, but I can not purchase the dictionaries by Google Pay; I received an error message: Could not connect to Google Play, but I can make in-app purchases in another app.

I tried many times today to get a subscription, but in vain. Kept saying "couldn't connect to Google Play". Very frustrating experience.

This app provides some unique features such as audio pronunciation, word of origin and extra examples that are of help to English learners. It's also possible to create my own folders to collect and review new words during acquisition, which would facilitate language learning on a daily basis in an efficient way. A feedback of improvement on flexibility, hopefully the folder name in 'favorites' can be still changed and the word order in each list can be adjusted by dragging in future version.

Prohibitively expensive. That's OALD in a nutshell. I've purchased the ninth and the tenth editions and the only upside is that you can download the content and view it when you're offline. The thing is, with internet connectivity getting better and rivals getting better, you dint really need it unless a dictionary is part of your professional requirement. Now, if they'd bundled at least a Thesaurus, I'd have given a glowing five-star review. The app also needs to be faster.

The app is great, and the content is very good, I love the fact that it has so many sentences recorded by native speakers. I had bought a monthly subscription, but after some time of working well it stopped responding and I just couldn't open it! It kept saying that I was subscribed but I just couldn't use it! Such a great frustration and disappointment! That's why I had to unsubscribe...

Great dictionary. But I cannot subscribe via Google Play so I purchase the access from Oxford dictionary website instead. Please fix the problem.

It is a good app but the content has been thinned out compared to the 8th edition. The quick search for phrasal verbs, idioms, and example sentences is extremely useful for beginners and advanced students and makes using this app a joy. The app definitely helps you to get a better picture of words and their contexts and meanings as well as the English language as a whole.

I had purchased the previous version, the 9th edition, but to my great disappointment, OUP removed it from Play Store. This is not fair!.. Besides, the 9th edition was a lot better with its back and next arrows in the top right-hand corner. When you looked up another word in an entry and another one in the 2nd one, and for example, a 3rd one in the 2nd one, and so on, those arrows would allow you to navigate all the words you looked up. It's also a pity they are not there now...

Same problem like with many of the other reviewers: Suddenly the app is reduced to the preview stage as if I had not subscribed at all. SOLUTION: This seems to happen when Google Play Store has been put to sleep or deep sleep, which is usually done by the phone's owner, in this case by myself. Wake it up and OALD works again. So it is not a true offline-capable app in the end, which is too bad!

I have bought an Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary 10th edition . So , I am using the app through the code provided in the last page of that . But , I can't change theme in this app even after using Android 12 . This problem is not major but you should fix it .

The "man", the myth, the legend... The greatest dictionary in the world, there's no one that come even close. The British accent with the examples of each word has helped me tremendously with improving my accent. For those on the fence, buy the complete version, and be ready to learn every day new words that will help you communicate better and become smarter.

The annual subscription is a big issue. Many of us are not affordable enough to pay the annual subscription fees. The fee can be for a Lifetime subscription, or the annual fee can be cud down to one fourth. We love this dictionary, and we want to use it as a good source of the language knowledge.

The affordability of a yearly subscription may pose a challenge for many people. Hopefully, there will be a one-time purchase option available. (Update: give one more star for prompt replies and save one for when the single purchase option is accessible.) 😃

I am using your world-class dictionary well. However, i'm writing to express my disapointment that there are only a few example sentences with audio. I would appreciate it if you could update the dictionary so that all example sentences have audio support. Then, thank you. Have a great day

Dear organisers of this prestigious application; Unfortunately I find difficulties with using this dictionary; as it only provides me with only a catalogue which covers only a limited range of words. I would be very thankful if you could help me with getting a fully-available version; since I'm in dire need of learning English. Thank you very much!

Great dictionary but the app lacks a convenient way to look up words on the go thus I'm uninstalling. I propose to the developers to either add an entry to Android's text selection menu to look up the selected word (most convenient approach) or from a sticky notification with a text input field (less convenient, as it requires manual input of the word, also visually annoying)

Dear OALD team! Oxford dictionaries are so good and I love them, but wouldn't say this is a good application as it can't fulfil my necessities for a dictionary app and I would pay for it if it could. It lacks features like a "text selection pop-up menu" option and "appear on top" to search words on the go and a reviewing option for the learner based on "spaced repetition" techniques to help them memorize their "newly learnt" words they added, are several to name. My sincere contribution

Hi Oxford Press. I am not impressed by this subscription scheme. I very much preferred the previous way, paying one time for the app and that's it. It's like I go to the book store and buy a paperback dictionary, I don't pay a monthly or yearly fee to the store just to gain access to the book. This is ridiculous and it's not worth it in my opinion. But if it's one off, I'd love to pay and own it, like the previous editions I owned. So at the moment, I will keep using the 9th Edition till forever or until you move back to one-off payment scheme in the next edition. Great dictionary. Good app. Bad way of business. Not impressed at all.
