Automation and AccessibilityService API
If you choose to create a 'Foreground application' trigger or use the Blacklist option, Overlays will require you to enable the AccessibilityService permission in order to identify which application is running in the foreground. Beyond that temporary identification, no data is collected or shared.

Edit: 5star. Very fast support from the dev. The browser's top part is smacked down in the top of the screen in landscape mode making me unable to access the close and minimizing button and the ability to adjust the position of the window thus its unusable for my use case because it will always trigger the notification panel.

This app has a minor incompatibility with the Nova Launcher. If you use this Launcher for your home screen, this app has an issue if you try to open an app from a floating icon from the home screen. It hangs for 5-10 seconds before opening the app. Works perfectly with the default pixel launcher, and works fine if you have an app in the foreground in the Nova Launcher, but I hope this issue is fixed so this app can work seamlessly with the great utility of the Nova Launcher.

Very unreliable. Consistently doesn't work. Tried paid version, still doesn't work. More info.. Use it as an overlay for a counter app. The counter app works fine. This overlay app will not consistently stay at the forefront. I get it to work, then a day or two later it doesn't work. Have to delete/reinstall to get it to work (works about 50% of the time on the first time). Takes 7 to 8 times of this to get it to work. Have tried 15 times this time, no avail.

Quite good! However, the sidebar detection is a little funky with an Edge screen... Gotta swipe from past the curved edge, which beats the purpose of it (being unobtrusive, the way Edge Panels work). Other than that, it could have been a really strong, more complete alternative to Edge Panels.

I've used Overlays (pro) for several years, it's an app that can really transform an Android phone (particularly alongside Tasker). I recently had an issue installing on a new phone (pro not recognised), the developer (Lior) responded immediately and resolved the issue - 5* support 👍

Great customability and integration options. The only problem is the number of little bugs that pop up. A glitch here and there I could understand, but they happen frequently enough to be of real annoyance.

Great app. Easy to use and enables you to add lots of extra to your android device. I can tell the developer really cares about the app as they are quick to respond to whatever issues you contact them about. They were able to find the issue I was having before and are already on their way to fix it. In summary: Great app, and great support. 5 stars.

I really miss understood the app. ”does NOT support Freeform or window mode for real applications" Then what's the point? I've tried now with the built in "apps" I gave all the permissions. After I put the apps on to full screen mode the home button, the background button is not responding at all. The weird thing is the description also say. "Increase your productivity and enjoy true multitasking." What is multitasking with mini apps? How to increase my productivity? It slows me down

I like the app. But the triggers. Man. They're difficult. I want to make a custom battery icon and not use the included one which is not changeable. How do I do it? By making 100 different triggers at 1%, 2% etc. When done making the triggers, gotta attach the corresponding image to every one of them (you can't copy/paste overlays!), and the most tedious part: go to the "attached" section and link every one of them between each other and manually click on "off" except for the one % it's on. Lol

Dear Developers!! I'm really sorry . The app doesn't work properly. When I rebooted my phone the app completely closed. It don't it's job until I open the app again. One plus point is it plays YouTube videos in background or locked screen but can't refresh. And all the sidebar apps don't open in flotting screen except it's given apps (internet browser and YouTube) I have been using this app since few months. Please fix all the issues we are facing. Update as soon. Thanks!!

Keeps crashing on Android 14 Xiaomi HyperOS. After a crash it reverts to default settings and overlays.db file needs to be imported every time. It may be HyperOS's fault. The app doesn't recognise Google email account from which it was originally purchased (perhaps it's a matter of permissions) and to retrieve pro version it's necessary to go to Play Store/Manage apps and device/ uninstalled apps and then scroll all the way to find "overlays pro" to install the previously purchased pro version.

Works well most of the time, but I found several annoying bugs. When you set a custom icon for a widget shortcut, the original icon still displays until you click it, then the custom icon will finally display. Also, if you delete ANY widget from the launcher, any custom widgets you've already configured will say "not installed" and they have to be reconfigured from scratch.

Horrible app, would not close app and had to reboot to uninstall it from taking over my phone screen. Note 4 Was seriously going to give this app another chance and installed again then it kept nagging to upgrade every time I tried to add a different application to overlay. If I cannot test this to find out if it is compatible with other apps or not, don't expect payment either. The bug I'd experienced prior might have been fixed but I'll never know as I've uninstalled again for the last time.

I was experiencing with a new launcher recently and ended up giving it the prestigious, default home screen title, though it does have its downside; it has only 1 page and doesn't permit the use of widgets. After a little research, I discovered, installed, fell in love, then purchased Overlays to cheat the no widget rule. Thoroughly enjoy this app / widget, would've given it 6 stars.

Great app, does exactly what it advertises. My only problem is that sometimes when I'm disconnected from the internet I'll lose the ability to use the pro features. I'm guessing that everytime you open the app it connects to the internet to check if you have premium or not? Not too annoying but just something I've run into enough times to make it noticeable. Would be 5 stars if it weren't for this small issue.

well... i initially put up a negative review after the latest update. However, i discovered what the problem was.... it was the new quick launch tab at bottom that was causing my issue. didn't realize it was a thing. Every time I'd accessed the app before it was showing my profile screen. needless to say the app does work as featured and apologize for the negative one from before.

Now using it on a Nord... Be warned, everyone, if you accidentally move the pop up window too high on your screen (at least on a Nord N10), it will end up under your notification bar, and you won't be able to tap ANY of the buttons at the top, including close or minimize, the resize button vanishes, and back/home/running apps buttons do nothing. And so far, even rebooting doesn't reset the size to the default in order to make the top buttons of the window useable again.

Great app. The free version has so many features and configurations. Even though I get a high battery usage notification, it doesn't really seem to put too much drain on my battery after extended use. The developer updates and adds features constantly. The app is also easy to turn off if you are really running low on battery so it inst very intrusive. One of my favorite configurations is using a 4x1 music player widget (with some transparency) over google maps, so I can listen to tunes and change tracks while navigating.

App functionality is great. I use it in conjunction with a side bar to get to certain widgets and apps that I use frequently. Customer service has been a dream. I've sent 3 different feedback emails to the team, and all have been responded to in a timely manner, and to complete satisfaction on my side. I've made 3 functionality requests; 2 which are being implemented, & 1 that is already available, but I was not aware of. Support guided me to the already available feature with clear directions.

Almost perfect, I would just like an option for the overlay to not change its position on the physical screen when I rotate it. Im trying to keep an image near my camera pinhole but when I swap to horizontal view, depending on how I hold my phone, it can be on the opposite side. Also, an option for easy screen outline overlays (full border) would be great. It could be my fault, but it's really hard to long press a launcher to change the settings without it thinking Im trying to change the order.
