I used to love this app, but now there's problems. The app won't open, it keeps saying the app is stopping and it won't open unless I uninstall and reinstall the app. Also, I don't like the new update to how the app looks. The old application had everything sectioned off like the passage and insight into separate buttons. Now it's all on one page. I miss the old look and I wish they would fix the login issue. I love this app and use it all the time. I'll rate it 5 stars after issues are fixed.

I've been using this app for 8 months. Like many others have said, the latest update has made it unusable. It crashes a lot, often within seconds. I also dislike the new calendar design for choosing devotionals. It wasnt clear how to use, and I miss seeing which ones i have already read. A return to simplicity and functionality would be welcome. Doesn't need to be pretty, I just want to find the devotion, read it, and see what i have already read.

I have had this app for awhile and I love it! It recently got updated and I had some issues with it crashing on my Android Samsung 7. Don't get frustrated. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and basically started over. The new layout is wonderful and you have the choice of reading the daily devotion yourself or allowing it to read it to you. It is a nice format. Love it!

I like the design of this app, and it has great content. However, it appears that every time there's an app update, it'll stop sending daily reminders (if you have them set) and it forgets your login information. So you have to re-login to the app and re-select your notification settings. That's kind of disappointing because I like being reminded each day, and it defeats the purpose of having reminders.

Unreliable now after the update! I've had the Our Daily Bread app on my phone for years and it has worked perfectly & consistently. Then, apparently, the update! I didn't like the slight format changes, but there was no choice. However, worse, the app is now totally unreliable. Can't even pull up the daily devotional; can't pull up the current month's reading plan to see if you can find the devotional either. Not worth installing.

Very frustrating. Once again, the Our Daily Bread app won't work after an update. A repeating pattern over the past couple years. This time, when opening the app, it freezes for a couple seconds, then shuts down. And yes I've cleared cache, yes I've cleared all memory, yes I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and yes I've restarted my phone. The app simply doesn't work.

I've been using the app for over 8 years. When I switched phones last year, I lost my consecutive days streak, but that was a minor annoyance. I updated yesterday to the February 25, 2021 version 3.4.1. Now, it won't open. Starts to open, stalls, and crashes. Edit: Devs reached out with the solution quickly. Uninstall, then reinstall. Working great now. My bad for not updating my review earlier; it's been a month now.

Just as with the other recent reviews. the app keeps crashing as soon as I open it. The last update apparently was August 2018. It's now October 2018. It used to be easy, three taps: a quick tap to open the app, tap again to listen to audio, and tap again to have audio start playing (and continue with screen off). I miss being able to listen to the daily devotionals while driving to work in the mornings.

Normally love app. Use it for daily devotions. Lately been giving errors when I shut down. This morning when I tapped one of the daily verses to read where it sends you to the bible website it gave me what seemed like a viral response. A pop up came up telling me I won some kind of contest and I couldn't get out of it. Had to uninstall. I don't think it was the app as much as maybe the link in the app. Hope phone didn't get a virus from it. Just reinstalled. Wouldn't open. Immediately crashed.

I love this app and being a Christian, I am moved by its rather powerful devotionals. However, it has come to my attention that I am beginning to lose track of my daily readings on account of the app failing to remind me to read at a set time in the morning. I switched to a newer device weeks ago, and on the older device, it did not function pretty good, but at least the notifications were functional. Is there any avenue to address this issue? Thank you and God bless.

Terrible update. This is my third uninstalling and downloading. Older version worked great. But now, many times I am reading and listening through my email version. And questioning why I have the app at all. 3 days later I am stilling hearing the narration from a previous devotional. It seems to be frozen somewhere. Every time I go to the web, it begins.

I've used this app for years with no problem. Then 2 days ago, it crashed. I've tried ever since to get it back to no avail=white screen, then "black screen of death", uninstalled then installed again & again, etc. I have just recently started listening and enjoying ODB (& reading the Insight portion when possible since it's not included in the audible--too bad) as I do listen to books constantly. Please do something.

the team has been in touch and are working hard to resolve the issues.. Thank you so much Daily Bread Team!! will add the last star when issye 8s resolved. Ive had this app on every smart phone I've ever had and I have NEVER had any issues until lately.. sometimes the playback doesn't work, and it's gotten so that everytime I open this app, it freezes up and freezes up my phone (galaxy s9).. i really don't want to have to delete this app. bcuz I love it. plz help!

I'm so glad I'm able to view the app again. It kept crashing, I'm assuming from the new appearance because of an update. It works great now. Only woe is that I had to go back and re-bookmark all my favorite lessons, as it does not save them even though I used my FB account. Glad to have it back up and running! EDIT: my one issue is that a reminder does NOT come up every day, even though I have set it to do reminders every morning a 8am. Can someone fix this??

YES!! The newest update fixed the crashing issue AND made the app SO MUCH better!! Dark mode is throughout! 👍🏻 Daily scripture is within the app! 👍🏻 Reminders fixed. 👍🏻 Reading streak, you'll see, it's perfect! 🥰 One tiny "thing"... There's no choice in settings to have the app open to the daily devotional, like the old version. I can get used to it, but it sure was convenient. 😉 THANK YOU ODBM for creating this app & this most recent update! I could say more, but out of characters. 🤣

This app has been really good, but in the most-recent update the Bible translations are extremely limited. It's quite annoying to have to open YouVersion to read the translation I normally read and juggle two apps to do something that was previously possible in one app. The floating "share" icon is also distracting. I'm going back to using an older version.

With the most recent update (2/27/24), I've reduced the rating from 5 to 4. The datk mode color is set to blue and is not easy on the eyes. The previous dark mode executed better. Also, there aren't as many settings that the user can select from; for instance opening the app directly to the daily devotional. Instead, you enter in the main screen and then have to tap to view the devotional. This update is a step back in user experience.
