Orgainic Maps is what an offline, works anywhere, travel map app should be. Works very well with the GPS of my Samsung A51 5G. Is intuitive and very easy to use. Building, saving, and using bookmarks to build a route is quick and easy. Building a route from your current position to a bookmark is even easier. This is one of my favorite apps.

A nice free offline map app. It works well on many phones, but rendering of roads and text seems a bit slow unless you are zoomed in. I like how you can help improve the maps by adding points of interest or other useful information. Very detailed trail and outdoor maps as well. Thanks for the great app and helping save the environment!

It's great to have the original Maps.me functionality back. This version is just so much easier to use and write up descriptions for your Bookmarks and categories. I have been using the older Maps.me for years offline when I travel overseas as to not use data connection and this make that again possible with Organic Maps. The only draw back I have is I just can't find a way to sort my bookmarks. You can sort the locations within the bookmarks, but not the bookmarks itself...

Great map showing OSM data. One wish: I'd love if moving around were smoother - more like Google maps. That it doesn't just stop if I fling the map around, but sort of tapers off and slowly comes to a halt. Would make navigating around the map much more comfortable and easy. I'd love to see this implemented. Other than that (and the lacking search function, that's probably mostly down to OSM data) great app.

I really like this map app and what it stands for. Unfortunately I can't use it as my primary navigation app because it doesn't have traffic information and does not route based on traffic conditions. Update 12/27: Reducing stars. Cannot use navigation mode because screen turns off. This happens even when "keep the screen on" option is ticked. Running on pixel 5.

This is a simple, free and ad free navigation app that just works. I have discovered so many great places on foot and found tracks not available on other maps. I highly recommend it. It has far exceeded my expectations for a free app. Some improvements at the time of writing could be finer contours (in many parts of the world it is 50m).

Nice app for offline navigation. The best feature for this app is it's simplicity, not having unnecessary gimmicky features. One feature I would recommend having is showing the speed limits. The implementation of the night mode is also weird, in auto night mode, only the navigation screen is dark, not the whole app, making it a bit blinding to start the app. Hope this is fixed soon. Overall the app has great potential, but still needs some way to go.

This app is an excellent alternative to Google Maps. That being said, it does lack a few quality of life features (such as Android Auto support, which is coming in a branch on GitHub). My only real gripe is a big one though - it doesn't always navigate you to the exact location of landmarks (for example, Disney Springs sends you to the valet pickup instead of the entrance).

I have been using this app to navigate around Asia for the last seven years, even in remote areas and countries with poor connectivity. I use it every day, often many times per day, and I love it. The offline maps are great, I can add pins, export pins to share with friends, and there is zero superfluous nonsense. The app is clean, simple, and works well. My one wish: a single-color overlay showing all trains, not just subway, so I can see the cross-country routes. Thank you, creators!

Can't find addresses that are in OSM data. Takes long time to calculate route. Route for no motorway Gardendale Al 2 McDonough Ga goes 60 miles (approx) north before going to destination that is east and a little south. Interface is good. Navigating the route displays smooth. Fonts are too small. No ads. Short distance routing is better than road trip. Easy to use interface.

I am so happy to have regained the old Maps.me that has been my trusty companion (and saviour!) on so many mountain hikes throughout Europe. As others have written, the recent updates have ruined Maps.me. I lost patience with it on today's hike and uninstalled. This is the old Maps.me. Thank you! One continiuing frustration: when I search for a place name that's marked on the map it often doesn't show up in the list, e.g. Caspoggio (Sondrio province, Italy).

Amazing app. Works as well as the openstreetmap database behind it, so no, not everything is there, but it's easy to add it and contribute. Runs so much better than google maps without all the spying software, and is great for hiking. I just wish the altitude on the elevation contours could be feet or meters.

20240308 Update: got even better, with Export All Bookmarks, which I now use to backup my ~1000 bookmarks in dozen different lists. Thanks! Great app! I download maps to SD card to save room on internal memory; have pinned hundreds of places in separate bookmark sets; use the app almost every day to plot waling/driving trips offline. I had a problem with the app locking up, messaged developers, who responded right away, solved the problem by recommending a faster SD card. Love this app.

Edit: Yep I am on the latest version. It just happened now again. Like 3 times when I try to zoom in on Portland. It just prompted me to clear cache also and that the app has a bug. So I did but it still crashed. Every other place seems find but Portland. :/ Great app but for some random reason, it keeps crashing when you're moving around the Portland Oregon area over and over. Dark and light modes. S24 Ultra. The rest of the cities seem fine.

Turn-by-turn directions failed. (1)Voice is too quiet compared to other audio. To hear it, I have to raise phone volume to levels painful for other apps. (2)When the t-b-t voice speaks, it stops my podcast app playing, and the podcast does not restart. Other mapping apps (Google Maps) pause rather than stop the podcast app, so it can restart when the instructions are finished. (3)It got in a loop trying to get me to the address, making me drive around it in a circle.

Great app, keep up the good work! My go to GPS thus far, was here, version 2. something, which I did not update since they started changing it. Recently noticed that it will not guide you, unless it has the internet connection. Weird, as my same version app installed on the car's android radio works just fine, without the internet too. So, it was time to part our ways and decided to give the O.M second chance. Glad I did, as it has pottenciall to become my favorite gps app from now on.

Excellent navigation app! How do I sort search results by distance from me? (I'm usually more interested in nearby search results.) Update: using a category search preset, then "View on map", and then returning to the list view results in a distance-from-me sorted list (so that capability exists), but I can't replicate that when searching by word.

Very lightweight, use to take notes of places quickly. Navigation I still use Google maps as it often goes on strange longer routes. Something changed in recent updates so cannot scroll down to lower parts of long notes anymore, inaccessible. Tad annoying having to scroll west to east to access Asia as it doesn't pan across the world. OpenStreetMap metadata tags for bathroom gender isn't shown, some airports or malls in asia have very distantly spaced gendered bathrooms.

Really impressed, but will like to suggest improvements on 2 things. Dark mode is a little hard on the eyes, especially with country borders not sufficiently differentiated from internal borders. Then navigation should be able to provide a usee with different route options on the map and a user can choose the option to use.

Things are improving with updates, but Android Auto support seems rough still. Searching for a location keeps resetting back to the main menu, so I have to start the route from the phone, then switch to the car. Navigation will then work fine, but if I change screens on the car and go back to the map, navigation breaks completely. Even the backup camera will cause navigation to break. I'm very happy to get away from Google Maps, so I'm hoping this continues to improve over time.
