I believe Opera News Hub would need to update and introduce new features for the development of writers. By means of keyword optimization, analytics insights, and trend data. On the contrary, I move for an enhancement in the payment system by increasing per-article rates. This better payment structure would not only be a sign of acknowledgement of writers' work but could also be an encouragement for them to write more and better quality articles regularly.

Lots of clickbait alerts and questionable news sources. It gets one star for local news being okay. otherwise it's a terrible news app. As a note to the developer, Clickbait isn't necessarily fake, it's written with charged language to drive you to click. The veracity of these articles is suspect. It might be more helpful to be able to exclude charged language. Other news apps seem to have these measures in place. This is the worst news app I have.

Spam. Awfully written news that doesn't get to the point in which the headlines suggest. Mainly long winded articles that doesn't actually say anything. It's not the Apps fault it's the news media agencys. Awful written articles Biased news It's just spam poorly written articles low brow stories. Don't bother. 7 months on I reinstalled this app and it's just awful, nonsensical stories and spam with some actual news sprinkled in.

The content is fine but the ads are hugely intrusive and impossible to click away from. If you try to click away it takes you to google playstore so you can download what is being sold. Too much frustrating wirk just to get to the article. Going to uninstall.

Great app aside from 2 very annoying bugs or non functional features. First problem is the app continues to aquire news from domains I have told it to ignore. Second problem is a plethora of mis-categorized articles, i.e. sports and Gaming are separate sections, half of my gaming feed shouldn't be football, gold, and hockey articles. To be clear both of these issues are persistent and happen at least once per use. Will be happy to re rate at 5 stars if these issues are addressed.

Everything is Awesome , Except the pop up adds . tic tic will come on full blast when your trying to do something else. it just gets in the Damn way. enough to almost change your mind about the app. same goes for the phone security app . then you have to wait till it's done before the X comes in to play to remove it. Nerve racking at times. according how you feel at the time.

Great for keeping u.t.d. on so the news on my city and the county as well. I only wish i didn't get so many notifications. Not to mention all the notifications i do get come in doubled or triples. Whenever i do find a story I'm interested in and i click it from my notification bar while my screen is still locked, it goes away and then i can't find it again.

I consider this app unusable until the following bugs/functionality are fixed: #1 biggest issue is that the customization options DON'T DO ANYTHING. Each article has a small "X" in the lower right corner. Clicking it presents the user with two options: 'Report' the article, or 'Not Interested' in the article. Clicking 'Not Interested' allows you to choose specifically what you're not interested in - the domain or the category. This is a FANTASTIC feature - or would be if it worked! After selecting the domain of a ridiculous clickbait site I won't name here, it said I'd see fewer articles like this. Incorrect - refreshing the page multiple times along with repeatedly saying "Not Interested In This Domain!" doesn't reduce the articles from them, let alone eliminate them. POOR FORM, OPERA. #2 I find the 'Switch to Reader Mode' prompt extremely irritating. I disabled reader mode. That means I DON'T WANT IT. Yet every article I click thereafter shows the switch prompt as it loads. Again, poor form, Opera.

Right now I'm giving you a low #...because I'm trying to read something and the choice of Open app.. versus Uninstall keeps popping up, preventing me from reading WHAT I WANT TO! So needless to say..you're rather low on my approved score 😠¡¡¡ Update..9-4-22 I'm so upset with the overwhelming barrage of ads!! Was just fighting my way through them, trying to follow a story! But between the 'Next' and the 'Continue' right after..I completely lost the story with no way of getting back to the story

Ads are way too aggressive, make app unusable. I read one article, get blasted in the face with a loud app for TikTok, and can't navigate back to news feed. Literally can not use this app. Also, settings are unnecessarily difficult to access. Push notifications continue after I disable them. Could be a great news app but it's completely ruined by terrible user experience decisions.

i was gonna delete the app at first cuz of all the notifications, but it does a really good job of balancing world, national, and local news topics; in addition to utilizing multiple, sometimes even obscure, local news sources, which i really appreciate and think is cool. the comment sections are filled with idiots but that's inevitable. clickbait and the lack of an option to have notifications open articles directly in the external browser of ur choice would be would be my biggest gripes.

As far as being an informative local news source, I really like this app and frequently use it all throughout the day. However, there are a couple of rather annoying issues that apparently either cannot be resolved or that I've simply been unable to resolve: the first being that there is no available dark theme (which can be very important issue for some) and secondly, the comments section appears to be an unfixable mess (cannot remove, delete or even so much as alter anything)

I enjoy the information and various topics. However, I'd prefer to get, or set, a schedule for alerts. Perhaps twice a day or the times a day and what time. My only complaint is that my phone consistently goes off for this app and I don't know how to stop these alerts without stopping others that I need to come through. I do look at this several times a day and enjoy when I choose to do so!

The most annoying thing in the world, ive turned off the NewsBar in my notifications so many times just for it to re-enable itself. Its so incredibly frustrating, the notification isn't dismissable, and im so sick of seeing it i turned it off. But thats just not good enough as it keeps re enabling itself. Im finally uninstalling it just to be done with the annoying notification newsbar. Screw your newsbar. I never wanted it, just a news app. I cant take it anymore good riddance.

I give it 4 out of 5 stars. It's got a nice layout that's easy to navigate. One thing that is a plus if the ability to download and read the news offline which I find especially helpful as sometimes I am in areas that has a week internet connection so this is helpful as I can download and read the news when I am in these areas. Thank you to the developers... It's above average in performance and definitely worth downloading.

I like the content but the way it's layed out on the screen I find to be rather messy and confusing.A bit generic. It would be nice if you had a dark mode theme for people like me who feel eye strain. Also for some odd reason at random times the app won't let me close it. It's really strange actually but just now I had it happen again, kept clicking every which way and finally I got it after I backed space a dozen times or something. Overall it needs some tweeking and maybe I'll come back.

Its good for local news, bad for world news. The notifications are always unimportant, there are few settings you can adjust, can't control how many old downloads are kept, not everything is in a digest format. Any notifications the timer resets so it always looks new. I want to see breaking news in the notify bar, not fluff pieces or click bait. Which it mostly all is. Can't remove news stations and there are few interesting ones.

Generally good, but suffers the same fate as most news aggregators - obtrusive ads. I don't mind watching ads, but don't take over my device to show me ads, and worse, don't play ads full volume when my phone is set to silent. One other baffling issue with the app is whenever I try to download articles, the app refuses saying 'no network found'. Last time I checked cell phone data constituted a valid network. I don't understand the requirement to only work on wifi. Baffling. Edit - Uninstalled

I am on several news platforms and have accounts with each one. I enjoy the "Opera Newsbreak" in particular because of the way the information is laid out. It's very convenient and I don't get lost where I am going with the article. I've also noticed and had a major problem with the articles themselves concerning the content. Some stories have no common sense applied to them and that's very frustrating as a reader that is critical of truth, context and content. Not with Opera Newsbreak!

Block function does not work. When you block someone, you still get notifications of their replies. What's the use in having a block function? This app sucks. When people reply, you can see it in your notifications but when you click on it, there's never anything there. Then the app shows that people haven't posted for weeks when they replied to uou a day ago. Tech support is useless. They say email them and they'll fix problems. You never hear from them. Deleting this app immediately
