The previous issue (see below) was resolved. It's back to being a top notch app to make reservations. I also appreciate that they stopped asking if you wanted to gain points and automatically just add your points now. 04/2023 Keeps asking me to add my phone and sends a verification code that when entered, does not allow me to complete the booking. Instead I get an error message that somethings not working please try again. I can't book.

This app works well. However, there is one irritating issue, it cannot focus on a locality when showing the possible restaurants. It does not help if the app keeps showing me restaurants that are one to two hours away, and, worse yet, intermingling them with some local restaurants. I ended up finding restaurants using different ways. It will be more helpful if this app allows the user to set a maximum distance from a specific area so the search can be more useful.

This app used to be easy to use and covers many restaurants I like. I appreciated its links to directions and menus. But at least some restaurants withhold seats from Open Table, so the app can say there are no seatsat a certain time, but the restaurant says there are. Since I wrote the review above, they have "improved" the app, making it require more effort to find the restaurant. At least at that point, it reverts to an easier format to use.

Overall, this is a very good app for making reservations. It is super frustrating, however, to have to know the name of the exact place you are. It would be so much better if they would simply put a button that says restaurants near me, but there isn't such a feature. Additionally, they use some proprietary ranking order, instead of letting you see which restaurants are closest. It's harder for the user, so they can reward paying restaurants for better placement.

Works pretty well at what does, though it's not a panacea. Not all restaurants use it, and those that do will only set aside a certain percentage of their tables to be reservable through the app. Restaurants still like to keep control, so sometimes a phone call is even more effective. The flow for searching for restaurants you've already been to sometimes feels more convoluted than it ought to be.

I use this app frequently. It makes securing reservations easy. But there is one serious flaw: The points are basically worthless. I have a huge number of points, but the process to use them, the limited number of eligible restaurants and the potential loss of points for needing a change negate any benefit. I'll keep using the app, but not because of the meaningless rewards.

I am a food snob, I like choices, and do not eat fast food... not for health reasons, purely taste. To be able to see what is close and look at menus is a must. Just made yet another reservation! This is great for adjusting times when you get stuck in traffic... Awesome! Update: attempted to change email. I LOVE it, only thing is the "menu" tab is often filled with old menus, i would prefer a restaurant link so I can see updated menus and specials

Great app! It makes creating reservations so easy. I have recommended it to all my friends and family. For a long time it worked like a charm now it has a glitch where I can't look at future availability or reservations. When I try to change the search it brings up a strange bar where nothing can be selected. I have tried to uninstall and re install and rebooted my phone. No fix. Very disappointing. If anyone has a fix or is experiencing the same let me know.

I love this app when it works with me. Can't modify the reservation. Need to have an option ON THE APP/RESERVATION because life happens and I don't like to ever be a no-show but I had to do it recently. Very frustrating. I feel as though I've cancelled/changed it in the past and it was not difficult. I don't want to go searching in my 10k emails to edit my dinner plans.

I used to love this app, but now it's the worst ever! You cannot modify existing reservations. Keep getting an error message, or nothing happens when you try to update the time of the reservations. It now wants to send you a verification code to validate who you are prior to booking the reservations. But when you enter the code, you get an error message. It only works if you have the code sent to your email, and then it will auto populate. A waste of time trying to book an online reservation!

I have made 2 attempts to try to use my reward points. I received the link and made a reservation at a restaurant. The restaurant gave times and the reward amount that could be used. Both times OpenTable failed to send me the e-card the restaurant needs to scan the barcode so they can deduct the reward amount off the bill. Scam! Don't waste your time.

App works as it should with a comfortable interface. It allows you to make special requests and the restaurant always accommodates accordingly so they do get the memo. I honestly have no complaints other then the reward points. I've been using this app for years and don't necessarily go out a lot but it would be better if they offered more points so I could actually use them other then waiting years to save enough points to use

They take a very, very simple concept and make it as difficult as possible. I've never interacted with a more cumbersome UI. All I should have to do is put in a city, a restaurant, number of people in my party, and time. Constantly searching for stuff not even close to me or mistaking the restaurant name for a city. Why? Don't they have my location? This thing runs you in circles. Practically useless.

Difficult to use; more steps than bank verification. Verification sent via text then, I have to have it sent to my email. Sit there and wait and nothing happens. Too many steps just to make a reservation at a place to eat! I'm surprised it didn't ask for biometrics or a DNA sample. Feckless app just to make a reservation. If I was a restaurant, I would not allow my customers to use this app.

Long time Open Table user. It's a great app that super user friendly and makes making reservations easy. That said, it's really really hard to get in touch with Open Tabel directly. Currently, there's a problem with their app. I've been unable to modify the last two reservations I've made. Open Table has a virtual assistant, but it's really limited in function. I dug through the app for 10 minutes looking for a way to report the problem. This is the only place I could find to reach then directly

Useful tool but the app has just gotten worse over the years. Navigation is not intuitive and it's nearly impossible to sort results or get to map view. Make the searching more intuitive. Basic filters should all be combined on one menu. Now I have to verify via text eveytime I open it?!

As others have said the app used to be easy to use and useful. No longer. Somebody has messed with the reservation process. I am one of the original users but cannot get on anymore. The 2 step verification using phone number and email just puts you in circles. Now a worthless app. I just called the restaurant and made rez directly. Will probably uninstall app if not fixed pronto. Booking Holdings, the owner, has a problem here. They may not even know it but this app won't be a go to much longer.
