Good in theory, but the app UI is clunky and there are some glitches. Dropping points to measure distant just drops the point in some random spot on the map. Trying to choose between different recorded trips is nearly impossible. For some reason I can't check or uncheck them, it just does nothing. For these reasons I will not be purchasing after the trial.

I really wanted to like this app but it is honestly horrible. While the features of what it has to offer are great, the interface is absolutely horrendous and very cluttered. If you filter the trails to your specific type, it will still show other trails. I was looking for 4x4 only and it was still showing me snowmobile trails. Even when you're using the free trial it literally pops up every 20 seconds of trying to get you to upgrade. It also does not integrate with Android Auto.

Well, I have enjoyed this app over the years since it's been released, they have made many changes and big improvements. If you can't figure out technology and tracking and map routes, etc. you will have problems with it. It is a high techie rated app. On another note I'm only giving it four stars because as an ex-trail guide for the app the Trail Guide program is kind of a joke. Everyone rates Trails differently and the expectations on writing a trail up are not followed for all.

The app is actually extremely good. I absolutely loved using it in Moab and it really is essential. There's just one major issue that kept me from giving it 5 stars. The app is SUPER power hungry, it drains the battery on my phone fast and I have to plug it in every few hours of using it. It also makes my phone run extremely hot. I have rebooted my phone, made sure no background apps are simultaneously running, but it still makes my phone get real hot. The app needs more efficient programming.

I've used this app to drive and hike thousands of miles of unpaved areas. Great for being able to stay on trails and determining if they are too difficult. The best thing are the layers/colors because you can identify wild fires and closures. The only drawback is the Android Auto version needs improvement. The icon for the vehicles location is too large and makes it difficult to see where to go when trails intersect. Also there should be a way to lock the orientation with North up.

The Android Auto experience is horrible. I downloaded the area beforehand, the app on the car refused to lock down the position putting us way in Minnesota (?), I'm in Washington! The auto experience doesn't respect the phone filtering/settings. In general it has trouble syncing between devices: removing/adding stuff on the web and going to the phone, doesn't show the changes. I tried swiping out the app, clearing the cache, the only thing that worked was re-installing.

It's a great app! Lots of trails mapped where I live in (Oregon, US) so it's nice for me. I've tried other offroad trail map apps and they don't have as many trails mapped in my area. It also features Android Auto support so I can view the map in my car's infotainment display. Theres some things I'd like to see in the future. One is being able to lock the map North on the Android Auto screen. Another one is being able to access nearby trails and photos of trails in offline mode.

(Edited: update available after this review posted fixed all the issues except the aqua color.) App is acting wonky again. I pay for Elite and it is asking if I want to upgrade; showing current plan as Basic. My 3D feature stopped working. The search feature for Landowner stopped working. My mapped routes went from red to aqua and there is no feature offered to change them back to red. I still see land owners so they get to keep a star for that. Many trails don't show when I search a location.

Only 4 options in dirt mode dirt bike, atv, high clearance, and overland. No utv or side by side option, however the atv and overland options are cut off and it appears you should be able view more options, but it doesn't move. Flipping the phone disables the ability to click on the mode option. The map has lots of other info that makes it hard to see the trails. No legend to determine what these areas are for, some areas are highlighted, clicking on them reveals info. Its to complicated to use.

App keeps freezing and crashing every time I try to use it. I have to close out and restart the app constantly. I purchased the premium membership. The GPS tracking is very inaccurate and constantly having to correct itself, the tracking icon vears off course then jumps over to where it's supposed to be at every fork or intersection on the map. Makes it very difficult to figure out if you're going the right way or not.

What an amazing back country mapping tool! It has all the features needed to navigate the back country efficiently, log and sort things along the way, and most importantly create routes by just dragging a cursor over the roads we're going to take through the forest. Now, there are bugs, and some have been problematic for us, but the first bug I had reported now seems to be fixed, so they are working on things in the background. Will continue to pay for a subscription.

Does as advertised. I compared between it and others, when beginning off-road trips. It is the most beginner friendly. Easy to route trips. Interface is pretty smooth. Overall layout is smart . Go & track is convenient. Vehicle type is accurate. Moving around is a little clunky in 3d mode. Choosing lines when multiple lay on top of each other is sometimes difficult. Overall, glad I chose this one as a newb. Dev suggestions: allow larger high quality offline maps, track speed when tracking.

I did a free trial and was able to cancel without hassle. I did the trial to visually scan my neighborhood to see the name of each property owner. I was particularly interested in two derelict properties. I get the impression that the app is used more for sleuthing than sporting. The tax assessor makes all of this ownership information available for free. The app just displays it efficiently.

The app is great and very useful. There are a few things missing in the app. There should be a better legend to tell you more about the map features. Such as what the colors mean in the different modes. Not sure how often it updates property information. Some of what I have seen is outdated. I wish there was a subscription discounted if you subscribe to all three apps, or possibly an app that brings all three together in one app. I find great use of each one just can't afford to subscribe all

Great app for route planning, route discovery and offline access when out of cell range. Would like to see the ability to customize routes and location marker colors for better "at a glance" visibility. Zero complaints with app. Support is great, and they occasionally offer online "classes" with guest speakers, etc. which have always been enjoyable.

Solid app. I use this while going out on trail rides with my dirt bikes every time. Only thing lacking that I have found so far is that it doesn't record a top speed or avg speed on your run. That would be super helpful to know. I need to use a second app just for that. Also, It would be even more helpful to free scroll around the mobile map and be able to see general elevations displayed in the ledger, or more accurate elevation with a long press like it does when it pulls up its coordinates.

I have used onx offroad for my several adventures, especially for trail route, condition, and technical difficulties. I enjoyed the offline experience of navigation, which keeps me on the trail. Their customer service and technical support are great. They constantly host master classes to educate end user to get the most out of their products. It's well worth it to invest in for adventure trips.

Have been using onX for a couple years now and I must say it's awesome! User friendly and accurate, onX makes my off-roading adventures much more enjoyable. Being able to easily find trails no matter where I am makes my time spent on the dirt rather than on the asphalt wandering aimlessly. Being able to research the trails by difficulty makes sure everyone can find a trail suitable for their vehicle or experience. The features make exploring new areas so easy. Highly recommend onX!

This works but not to well in landscape mode. The people are very helpful if it worked better in landscape mode I would give it a 5. Since my initial review, works well in landscape mode. Very happy with the improvements. Have been trying to promote your app to other riders at HMT. The only thing that would make your mapping superb would be to have POI's. We also use BobT's mapping. Yours is easier to use but theirs shows POI's which is very important while riding. Other than that, works great.

The app itself is good. It does several things I like. Where I think it fails to deliver, it's on the Android Auto. Opening the app on Android Auto, I would have expected to have the same view as in Go & Track on the app. Instead you just get the map view. The trail colors didn't show up on Android Auto for me. Instead what I got was main trail colored in blue, which was different from the app because I was traveling on a "green" trail. Consistency in the functionality would be nice.
