I've wanted something like this for ages. There are a few issues - there was a step missing in the configuration, and I really wish there was a Widget. But I can open the garage from my phone and query via Alexa and that's good.

This review goes on both the Overhead Door app and the MyQ app. I've had both for the past two years. They are both great openers. The OH Door app is very frustrating in comparison to the MyQ app. It requires a fussy hold on a small target to begin operation, then may timeout. The MyQ app is much friendlier with a big button that just works. Added: OHD app is slower to connect & refresh. The UI on MyQ is friendlier and response is faster. OHD app needs a full overhaul.

Been successfully using this app for several months to control the garage door on my mother's house. Today (2/18/2023) it will not log in. Error on screen is - - login failed {"message":"Too Many Requestes"}. Can't find any indication on OHDoor website that there are server issues, and no one answers the phone so I can't ask. I uninstalled/reinstalled, and also installed on a separate device. All result in the same error.

Update: A year later and the app still does not work for android phones. Works fine on Apple. Can't even log in on android. Yes I've updated to the current version. Does not connect to an Android. Works fine with Apple. Spent $300 extra for wifi on two openers and it will not connect to My Note 9. Will probably ask for them to be returned. horrible

Right now I am not liking it. Can't sign on, keeps saying invalid sign on or password. This happened to me once before. My daughter has no problem with her I Phone. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it many times. I noticed that the app was last updated in September of last year. Hope you can find a way to fix it. Called the 877 number. Lady said to change the password and it worked!!! Leon

This app walked me through setting up the system with no problem at all. Once I got it connected to my WiFi, I was able to easily open and close the garage door. This app even has a history tab, which shows you when the door has been open. If you're looking at all the bad reviews, my guess is that they couldn't figure out how to set it up. This works great for me. This even has notifications when it is opened and closed.

works, but when the garage controller is turned off (light on my legacy is off and no buttons, wireless controls, etc will work) the app still says the signal is received when requesting an open/close signal. maybe have the app report when the opener is turned off/disabled so you arent wondering why the app is not opening or closing the door? other than that, seems to work just fine.

I like having the ability to monitor the Garage doors remotely. It works - I have android and Wife has iOS -- few things that I dont like: 1) The lack of integration to IFTTT - so cant automate a lot of things/other devices. They have been promising that integration for years! Just disappointing to not see that happen. 2) Turning off that loud noise when you open the garage door remotely - I understand its for safety but let the user decide that option. Side note - if you travel international and you want to let someone in - the app wont work. Had to use VPN to get the app working again.

Dissapointed. It was working fine until the last 2 Samsung S9+ upgrades. The app notification feature stopped working. I used to get notifed when my door went up or down. Now it seems that the app is in sleep mode all the time. Only when the app is actually open on my screen do the notifications chime in to notify me. Something is definately wrong and needs fixed. I have to pull up app history to see if my door is open or closed. Time to update your app so the notifications work again.

Quit working when I upgraded my wifi. Was not able to get the controller to talk to the app. My network equipment is complex, but very versatile...connected via 2.4Ghz band. Reached out to tech support, and they were no help. Said it was a firewall issue, it wasn't(I'm a network administrator). Setup a myQ garage hub with no issues. Recommend not using the Aladdin Connect retrofit kit.

Just had my new door and opener installed yesterday. Could not get the OHD Anywhere app to work while installers were here. Today I spent some time with support and the problem seemed to be needing to know the proper wi-fi setup in my home to get the app to work. My IT and computer experience came in handy. People with "smart home" devices likely can get this system up and running quickly. The app seems only as complex as it needs to be but is full featured. My biggest concern is security.

Very slow to start up. Adding someone for access doesn't work so they are in a never ending "pending" status which errors out when trying to delete them. Tried to add someone several times with no success. Refresh notice pops up everytime you move to a different area in the app which takes an unneccessary amount of time - example, "home" to "rules". Hopefully an update will come soon. Other than that, the app has potential and it works for simple open, close and notifications. Seems like the notifications are all or nothing. I don't need to know everytime the door is opened and closed but i need sound alert for my rules.

Works well most of the time, but occasionally log you out of the app which is a pain when trying to quickly open or close garage door. Also, you have to hold the button to open/close the door but if your finger slides at all (one handed operation), it thinks you are trying to swipe to delete the opener. Makes it rather annoying for responsiveness. If those two things were fixed, I would give it 5 stars.

This app is horrible. I have connected 1 of my door openers, the other will not connect. When you click on "tap for more info" there is NO WAY to return unless you close the app and reopen it. The one opener that is "connected" is not showing connected in the app. At this point I am ready to spend extra money to get a BETTER opener with a BETTER app. This is freaking ridiculous!!!

Works great...most of the time. There are occasional connectivity issues that prevent it from opening or closing the garage door. A simple close/reopen of the app fixes the issue. It would be better if the app had more fault tolerance built in and/or restarting the app wasn't the only option to resolve. Once again, otherwise the app works great.

I've had this for several years now. It works great. The only complaint I have is that the notifications the garage door is open or closed takes a while. Sometimes, the notifications will just a couple of minutes to taking half an hour to a couple of hours. My wifi signal strengths are excellent and the battery is full from the door module. Not sure what is wrong.

Installed this about a month ago and everything worked perfectly. All of the sudden when I try to open/close the door from the app I get... An error occurred integer out of range\n\n Open/close notification and status works fine, it's only when I try to open or close the door through the app. I tried rebooting the phone and also reinstalling the app from the Play Store, same results each time. Edit: I appreciate your prompt response and things seem to back working normal again. Thank you!!

The functionalities of the app are great...once you get connected. I've had 2 routers go bad and reconnecting 2 doors to wifi is a 1-2 hour waste of my time. Connects to the openers pretty easily, but finding the wifi could take 8-10 15 minute circles of death before it hits, then when it does, zero issues. Perfect signal, the router is right above the openers on the next floor. The app itself is the only saving grace.

We have had our IHD Anywhere for several years without any problems. However, lately we have had many issues with the device. It started with the battery going dead. It was replaced but then the unit would not connect to the router. We changed positions of the sensor. Now it will not properly pair with our phones.

UPDATE: I was able to resolve the issue after disabling DuckDuckGo's App Protection, which apparently prevents this app from loading available WiFi networks for some reason... After a recent update, my opener was offline, and I couldn't reconnect it. Removed it from my account and re-added, but it refuses to load/display available WiFi networks so I can connect it. It just spins on "looking for networks" after I connect to the built-in WiFi.
